  1. Claudio's grading is extra sharp, his packaging was exceptional AND he threw if some extra books to read. All in all an excellent guy to deal with and a very nice person to boot. Happily deal with him again.
  2. Bobby is a true gent and his packaging was worthy of travelling the atlantic! Thanks again.
  3. Orbital is absolutely astronomical in terms of price - well for silver age stuff. I was in there about 2 or 3 months ago and they we wanting £300 for a copy of FF41... I'd recommend Nick also.
  4. None of those will work. They are all standard 8.5x11" models so the entire slab won't fit on the glass since the cases are about 13" tall Cheers Eric I thought that it would be too good to be true to find a solution in one email. I'll go back to them and see what they recommend.
  5. So in a hunt to find a modern scanner that I didn't have worry about drivers and compatibility issues I contacted a Epson and asked them about many of the issues people encountered on this forum. They were kind enough to offer a range of suggestions and models. I'm not sure if these are available worldwide or just the UK. Long and short of it is that I'm going to pick up the entry model. Has anyone used any of these and have any other thoughts before I pick one up? Epson Perfection V370 Perfection V600 V800 Thanks KD
  6. Brian sent a book to the UK for me and it was greatly appreciated! Came in extra fantastic packaging and I will definitely use him as a seller again!
  7. Welcome to the boards Zonk. Depending on the books you are storing and then the size of the mylars and boards you should make sure you get a box that fits. I use silver/golden mylars and therefore need to buy magazine boxes to ensure they fit properly. I also prefer to use them as they are shorter and I have OCD about having hundreds of books in one box incase they are slightly misaligned and create any kind of pressure on the books that are further back - maybe that's just me I buy boxes generally from Travelling Man for about £4/5. I know there are online dealers in the UK that if you are buying quite a few it makes it worthwhile bulk buying. On a side note check Archonia.com for bags and boards - they seem the best place in regards to price.
  8. Didn't realise it needed fixing? Plenty of examples both ways of a charaters first appearances/first full issue where prices are strangely out of kilter. At least with Bats 357 you get two. A bird in the hand and all! Out of interest what do CGC class as the first?
  9. I doubt it personally because it's already high priced due to Croc. Doesn't seem too high priced to me and Croc definitely seems a lesser character than Jason (to me anyhow). Batman 356 goes for about $6-8 in NM, 358 about $20-30 (again, because of Croc), 357 you are lucky to get under $50 for a decent grade raw. "high price" is all relative to each person, but that specific issue is a lot more valuable than the other issues around it. Off the top of my head I can't think of any issues that have two major first appearances in it to compare on price inflation. I always thought that Killer Croc's first app was Detective Comics 523, it was a cameo but still his first appearance.
  10. That was pretty awesome! I assuming the scaly looking fella is meant to be killer croc?
  11. Jake sent me a book internationally to the UK and it was incredibly well package and arrive as nearly as soon as I paid. He even refunded some of the postage costs! I'd happily buy from Jake again.
  12. Riddley "ain't got an original idea so I'll just pilfer and destroy early master pieces" Scott. Looking forward to it
  13. Phil bought NM98 from me. He paid within 10 minutes and was a pleasure to deal with. Would happily sell to him again.
  14. Just my two 2p's worth... I buy slabbed books and crack them open: 1) to read and love the books for it what they were meant for 2) to make sure there is no risk of restoration 3) to practise my grading 4) I buy restored books to see if I can detect restoration to improve my knowledge of buying raw books at conventions etc. Each to their own
  15. Andrew is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. Shipped comics from the US to the UK in what can only be described as "bomb proof" packaging.
