  1. This board has all types of problems, but it is policed albeit some think too much and other think too little. Its a work in progress. We regulate sellers, we out con artists, we have kudos threads, we do great work for board members when they have traumatic life events.(Death, cancer, fires, floods, etc....) I've been fortunate to be a part of several. We share ideas, we send an action figure around all over the country, we help to raise money for events and so on... We had writers on here, artists and publishers. A large amount of money changes hands on this board weekly and for the most part most transactions go well. Love it or hate it its the model for most boards in the comic hobby.(Whether they admit it or not.) Sounds like the other one. The donation things on here must be in an area I don't frequent. The money changing hands though is where things can get "hairy". I can say something in here and someone can sell it on here as well. Isn't that the rub? At any rate, it looks like your concerns were heard.
  2. Deadpool dropped like a rock after the movie.
  3. I can but will take the secret to the grave! Dont tell them what I do though or else Ill never hear the end of it!! I just assumed pool boy with a trust fund.
  4. I expect Alias to pick back up a little when things get rolling for the new season. There is another one MGC that is creeping up right now. Should be a decent ROI for about two months.
  5. There are 25 Image Firsts on DEC16 Previews including Walking Dead #1 shipping in February 2017. Reprints may see a price dip then? Walking Dead #1 Image First has been printed 4 times. The 2010 was the first time and it can sell from $4-10. If you are going to dip your toe in the water of selling these $1 reprints, you have to make sure you can sell in volume. For most people it's not worth there time to make a couple bucks selling a comic on eBay.
  6. I must be misremembering the part where I stated it was a CBSI mod. No doubt you can quote the post where I wrote that. Did you state it, no. Did you infer it, yes. I can't be blamed for someone else's reading comprehension problems. And you meant to write that I implied it. Meanwhile you absolutely stated earlier that I posted misinformation in this thread, for which you still have yet to provide any evidence. Perhaps it's another instance of a CBSI member misremembering. Never once called you out. But there's your misinformation you are frothing about.
  7. Not exactly... These 2 will be dead on arrival whereas there was good money on NM98 true believer when it hit since it was the 1st affordable replica of that book I think the 181 could be a $5 bill just because of the cover replication. Wolverine #1 is still fairly affordable. Just curious, why would anyone pay $5 for this when it can be had for $1 or less from LCS or online retailers such as Midtown? Or would the price increase occur after stock from normal sources have dried up? IDK, you tell me? http://www.ebay.com/itm/True-Believers-Deadpool-1-Reprints-New-Mutants-98-1st-app-of-Deadpool-/272133483373?hash=item3f5c6b6b6d:g:pJsAAOSwe7BWv5Jg

Wolverine #1 is still fairly affordable. Maybe, maybe not.. What is certain thogh is that the Hasbro and MMilestone reprints will certainly take a hit now I have found those Milestones to be very tough to find without stressing in the wild.
  9. Agreed! The BIN was reduced to below what the two bidders bid up to on the auction. One of them got it obviously. But the BIN is still sitting there. So... There are two BIN OBO (the cheapest listed at $700 OBO) listed. There is also an auction currently at $500. I don't know that this tells us anything. Why would a buyer (assume the 2nd highest bidder on the 1st auction) pay for a BIN when the price is currently higher than the auction price? I would also expect the next copy to sell to be quite a bit lower than the first copy in question. Yes, I agree. He mine as well wait and see how that plays out before dropping the cash on the BIN. Although, sometimes people with those kind of disposable funds get antsy and just want the book.

  11. I'm really liking these. All 3 covers have something different about them, which is a nice bonus.
  12. But this board, which has many, many more members, is perfectly fine.

  15. Why cant you see this problem? Do you so trust the people running that site that they don't have a monetary interest? You and I both post on both web sites and have been members here for a long time. How can you not look at their site which has ties to several other sites that advertise books for sale there. Its a classic conflict of interest. Your an intelligent individual I just don't see how you cant concede that this is happening or has happened on that site. So all this talk is because of the Venom 4-shop variant being on their top 10 list? Is it not selling for a lot more than it cost originally? Or is the theory that they are trading 500 copies back and forth, inflating prices? Also, how does the boardie who is part of the fan club and was pre-selling sets of them at inflated prices factor into the equation? Maybe an inside plant?
  16. His art is way too good to come out once a month. You look at the Marvel stuff that comes out once a month and it's garbage. Pretty much the only person I can think of that can keep up is Capullo, but I don't think he does every issue or the complete issue, does he?
  17. A 1:200 variant for $20 is a good selling price?
  18. Good point stressing how often these rare variants end up in the crapper. They are random variants and were all bought mostly in two days... Something stinks... Goes back to September 9th. The 3 months that eBay shows. Maybe you wanted the 1:200's, direct from the publisher, taking off.... I guess I am missing the point... I don't see any discernable pattern or pricing trends here. The books are across multiple genres and collecting focuses across multiple non-key issues. I could be wrong. Don't worry about all that. The advice was to stay away from those pesky store variants and invest in the varaints directly from the Big 2. As you can see, it's a goldmine just waiting for some prospecting!
  19. Free to speak one's mind here, to an extent anyway. That other site...not so much. Free to spread misinformation here and not have to own up to it because you can use your LARP'ing name.

  21. 1:100's, direct from the publisher, taking off!
  22. Ah, the fan club's all here. At least all that haven't been banned.
  23. What thread? You really want a thread where a couple of blowhards tell you, based on their opinions & collecting interests, what variants are real and which ones aren't??? +1 http://comicbookinvest.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=546&start=70 Nice list Yani Those He-Man action variants (I got both) are both tough ones. Just saying As is documented, I noted on Nov. 23 the Fearless Defenders variant. Two weeks ago. It was then listed in the CBSI top 10 on Nov. 26. Since then, one copy has surfaced for sale.
