  1. Mine came today--- thanks Dr! Regards-- THE one and only Daily Double Winner! (there can only be one)
  2. Throw stones at one Thor, throw rock men at Thordis
  3. @ThreeSeas - did you attempt to look at the bags and discern which ones were different as well? I ask because you variation is far more substantive than what the fellow in the youtube video showed. He had some books where he ended up with 5 or more copies out of 18 bags opened or near that on several certain books (iirc True Believers: Captain Marvel had at least 4 repeats).
  4. Corrected lists of winners or "dorks" if you will..... (had @1webslinger written down incorrectly.)
  5. I'm confused -- did they use the same image on the cover as the splash page or is this splash from a different book entirely? Also-- what is keeping that enormous monster from falling to the ground? He isn't on a ledge. (I"m just being picky now--- I still love the cover/art)
  6. man without face - meet man without AIR
  7. Raffle winners: @awakeintheashes and @1webslinger
  8. I like BA and SA because it was what I grew up with. I wasn't around the hobby after 1978 until about 2014. I knew it went through some tough times. That the way books were sold changed radically. The art changed and the quality was different. Even when I picked back up in 2014, I realized my 13 year old self understood the hobby better than I do. But through these forums-- I have expanded upon some of my interests like PHM, Kirby 4th world, and understanding and appreciating more about the golden age even especially the horror stuff. I know jack about the 1990s and make no effort to know it or really judge it. If someone likes it-- great for them. I can barely stand stuff from the copper age (with some exceptions-- Thor and DD). I've always found it strange how most ages of comics are pretty well defined through the copper age and then-- without warning-- everything is "modern age". We've been in a 30+ year age range? That seems either crazy or plain lazy that no one gave what might be two or three more comic ages. It seems very disrespectful to those eras. Anyway-- like anything-- collect and read or don't whatever you like. No one should ever tell you you are doing it wrong. People can have strong opinions and act like they know what is best but they aren't YOU.
  9. Magnus Robot Fighter- meet some robot hoarders
  10. Let me introduce you to these experimental animals....
  11. Seems like this topic might have done better in the Modern forum as the books are so far all moderns. If I were so inclined or able to go to one of these stores-- It seems pretty easy to get around the "mystery" of these bags and only buy something you might want to begin with. Not sure I would consider that "cheating" though. From what I've seen though--- these books are a decent deal but it might help if you like these types of books to begin with. and one last point--- the guy in the videos -- like in so many other opening type of videos I see wastes a lot of everyone including his own time during the video. Do I need to watch him open the bags of these things so violently? Get some scissors or a sharp blade or something. Better yet-- have them opened and ready to examine without us watching the process. Sorry-- it was painful to watch and listen as the guy tore into each new bag-- my OCD self thinking "even if he finds something worth a damn-- what if he ruins it in the process of opening a bag like a wild animal?" anyway---
  12. Thank you Mark for some great comics! Everything was well packaged. You are a generous person to say the least. I appreciate it. ++++++++++++++ KUDOS
  13. Video two in case you are interested-- had to search for it.
  14. at least this insufficiently_thoughtful_person was finally arrested- this is the point in which she is telling Gayle King "Enough."
  15. Its one of the SW variants. Something to make it more interesting. No variant I've ever heard of before
  16. not sure what that one is--- mine looks like this
  17. I enjoyed skateboarding though it was the mid-1970s so the board I used initially had metal wheels. It was quite the upgrade to the one I bought at a Venture that had polyurethane wheels. It was Silver and had a curved fishtail so you could do 360 spins. Then I dropped it and went on to BMX riding.
  18. I prefer a good old Death Star cover- where Luke STRIKES AGAIN!
  19. there was one that was priced to move but the person was unable to accept payments (probably doing something fishy -- had a feedback of 2). The other one I considered was detached and had a cover practically split the entire way. Still wanted 60 bucks for it. Think I will just have to be happy with my marvel double feature reprint. In the end-- it is a WANT, not a need.
  20. I tried to find a copy of TOS #94 on line tonight with no luck. Lots of copies but all more than I want to spend.
