  1. Diamond breakfast open to retailers and their sidekick as each store got 2 tix invite.
  2. For vendors, the primary loading zone is wheel chair accessible, thus good for hand trucks from the southwest corner of the gyms. Per the dealer instructions, vendors will have to move their vehicles and park for free in the surrounding neighborhood that Saturday. This leaves the 3 surrounding FREE parking lots available for attendees and the handicapped. I believe Canadian Comics.net will also have 3 wall tables there. More comics vendors to be announced. Admission is $4 to support their library.
  3. Inaugural annual Knights Comics and Collectibles Expo on Saturday April 13, 2019 held at St. Thomas More Collegiate in Burnaby, a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Up to 80 x 8' dealer's tables full of recent and vintage comics, graphic novels, toys, some used DVD's, vinyl LP's, and local talent artist alley. My buddy's son graduated from this high school and they are raising funds to renovate their library. I will be part of the 'Comic Adventures' team that will have five (5) wall tables full of reasonably priced back issues, some graphic novels, $1-2 blow out bins, My Little Pony items, and some used vinyl records. Promotion by the St. Thomas More Parent's Association and co-sponsored by eSports electronic gaming tournament. More info and to reserve a vendor's table for $55 or less at new St. Thomas More Collectibles Expo, Burnaby Pic of the front entrance. Right hand side will lead to the side by side 2 gyms that will hold this pop culture show geared towards high school families and potentially new collector/fans:
  4. dearest thirdgreenham, I may be starting a new job, thus in training Apr, 2019 so will be unable to see your smiling face, as you accept greggy's sack of US greenbacks for your under priced raw 9.4 semi-keys that will be 'potentialized.'
  5. There is a Diamond Comics retailers's breakfast Thursday morning 8 a.m. at ECCC. I will be at the con for Thursday only. Have a safe drive.
  6. fyi, J Anacleto will be signing and selling artwork at Seattle, WA's Emerald City comic-con next week. 4 day con along with Neal Adams, Rob Liefeld, etc.
  7. I liked some of the slower scenes with flashbacks, humor and 1980s music. Nice plot twist towards the end. Was there a post-credit trailer clip I was supposed to stay for?
  8. If your car gets inspected at USA border and you have prepared a CGC invoice, please make sure the return to address is in Canada or a USA border town that way the inspectors know your comics are being returned to you after slabbing, and not being consigned for an auction right away on the Eastcoast USA. I am not sure if ComicLink has a booth at ECCC but I think they used to. Never saw Metro/Comic Connect at ECCC.
  9. Biljo White and Ronn Foss contributed to expanding early comic fandom via Alter Ego zines:
  10. Just a few other origin issues to collect like Kid Colt #79 (Atlas, 1958) and Two-Gun Kid #48 (Atlas, 1959):
  11. I used to think summer of 1989 was a glut when I saw a long box full of Batman year 3 parts 1-4 with nice Perez covers and decent Pat Broderick art but too common so they usually go in $1 bin.
  12. DD #1 buyer is a relatively younger Asian collector not named greggy.
  13. Is any of this tv series based on Grant Morrison's writing at all from Doom Patrol volume 2?
  14. If ECCC vendor does not have a receipt book, then I recommend they hand-write a receipt on the back of their business card that has their phone # or email on it. Did anyone else shop at FEV this weekend? My DD #1 is on hold so sale pending Sunday:
  15. J. LeBlanc picked up a 10k copy comic collection that he is breaking down at FEV. It included a couple of signed John Byrne DC Generations published OA panel pages plus an unsigned Byrne Generations OA panel page. He sold a signed(?) Byrne Generations OA page with nice Batman panels for $300 loonies. Lots of young creative independent press in artist alley including Vancouver's uber talented painter/illustrator Camilla de Ricco and many new artists like: Overall there were fewer vendors than last year. Did not see Big Pete, as he was just vending at last week's PNE Forum con. The Tower of T-shirts appeared to be missing too but we have London Drugs again. This is my summary for greggy, Flatliner1313 and others in the Vancouver, BC area. Have a sunny weekend.
  16. 1st 3 sigs from Art Adams are free. Liam Sharp signing for free. Liam doing pencil head sketches for $100, full body pencil sketch on 11" x 17" bristol board for $200, or $300 if illo is inked. Can you get a discount? Yes, Art Adams, Joyce Chin and Liam Sharp usually charge $20 US for their prints but generously only charged $20 loonies at FEV. Writer Steve Englehart was charging $5 US/sig or 3 comics signed for $20 loonies. More Cdn Comics.net:
  17. I saw 2 empty, lonely booths that probably would have been occupied by Harley Yee who, I believe, is still relaxing in Hawaii this weekend. More Cdn Comics.net:
  18. Jigglypig Chad offered his vast assortment of $2 back issues. I think Canadian Comics.net had 4(?) booths:
  19. Nice Game of Thrones iron/sword throne was there plus Jurassic Park jeep prop:
  20. Local TV storyboard artist John Gallagher was selling his prints and signing them too:
  21. Art Suydam had at least 2 booths to display his prints. Thank you Fan Expo for generously expanding the FEV booths from 8' x 8' to full size 10' x 10'.
  22. Thanos88 made an offer on Anthill's werewolf original art page drawn by a Philippine artist (not pictured):
  23. Anthill Books and Comics had 2 scarce Matt Baker romance comics hiding in his bin at $2,400 each:
  24. Cool, brisk, sunny weekend in Vancouver for Fan Expo:
  25. Seems like most comic vendors are lined up in a row from booths 207, 208 to 211 (Canadian Comics.net) except for Jigglypig Chad and Anthill Books and Comics at island # 511. I will be lining up to get a few choice comics hopefully signed by Art Adams and writer Stv Englehart:
