  1. I've seen some pics taken by one of the vendors of a variety of cosplayers and there never appeared to be much of a crowd in the background. Hopefully, the crowd was just out of frame.
  2. Anybody out there who was on the fence taking advantage of the extended early-bird booth pricing? Was it enough to sway you???
  3. In the past there is a concession stand in the hall that has been open. It won't be a life altering culinary experience, but it will keep you from starving. I'll also be bringing a good run of early Spawn. Pretty much a complete run from 1 to 50.
  4. I agree. The overhead for a downtown show is just too much for me to sign on for more than once a year. With Planet being the established show, I go with them. I can't make it to this year's KCCC, but I'm still waiting for a guest announcement that will make me sad that I can't be there.
  5. Great little show! I'll be setup again in the same corner I had this spring for FanCon! Swing by and check CoMo Comics out! We've bought thousands of new books over the summer and will have a lot of fresh inventory in our priced as marked, 1/2 off and $1 boxes!
  6. Earlier dates AND increased booth prices may be the killer. I can see weathering one or the other, but to risk more money (even if it's just an extra $25 per) with the greatly increased risk of weather interference is concerning. I'll be there, but I'm going to have an uneasy feeling until I'm on the floor and the money starts flowing. Like most, I was down last year, but this is our big one for the year in MO and I'll be there to support the show.
  7. Glad to hear that! I know you were on the fence about it. Are you going to setup at Free State again in October?
  8. The dates have officially been released! I ran into Chris at Heroes and sadly this was his best option for dates. Looking forward to the show, but already nervous about the potential impact of the February weather here in Missouri...
  9. See everybody in the morning. Hope everyone who is setting up has a good show!
  10. I'll be making my first appearance at a HeroesCon this year. Looking forward to finally see what all of the excitement is about! Not setting up, just shopping and getting stuff signed.
  11. Michael Rooker cancelled today. Supposedly due to GotG Vol 2 obligations.
  12. I've heard through some back channels that Jim Steranko will be on the guest list this year. That would be a big name that KC hasn't seen in quite a while (if ever).
  13. They've been ramping up their social media activity the last week or so. I imagine that they're coming back. I know that it took Planet a long time to get dates this year as well. Bartle is an awfully busy place apparently.
  14. I'll be there again this year, holding down my corner, as per usual. Creator announcements are coming a bit slow, but Eastman should be a solid draw. Won't match Stan from last year, but hopefully we'll have some big names that will help bridge the gap.
  15. I'll be there most of the day Saturday shopping. Guest list is pretty weak this year, but hopefully there will be some deals to be had on the floor!
  16. It wasn't a bad show, but it wasn't great either. If you had to choose one or the other, I'd go Planet. Considering the promoter used to be involved with Planet there were some things I was surprised to see or not see. I will give them props for bringing in a few higher profile creators than what Planet did this year.
  17. Looks like I'll be there shopping on Saturday. any boardies setting up? I'll come by and say hi.
  18. I saw online over the weekend that they were engaging with Steranko. If that negotiation goes well, I may actually start to look forward to KCCC year one.
  19. I'll be there probably 2 out of the 3 days looking for stock. Not setting up. Too pricey for an unproven 1st year show for my taste. Had a great show at Planet in March and would rather play it safe than get burnt at this one on year one.
  20. This is it! The worst kept secret around. Seemed like everyone local had heard about it, but details were always sparse. Will be interested to see how their guest list matures and also what tables will run compared to Planet CC.
  21. I went in expecting a lot and it delivered. Will probably catch it again over the weekend.
