  1. You have to do a magazine size comic and walk-through service submission (anything high value), which is super fast but runs about $120 depending on the value of the book. I recommend USPS Registered mail with insurance of what you think the book would sell on the market today. Your shipping cost/insurance of getting it to them can run $20-100 depending on insurance. Also, make sure you give a value to CGC that reflects the same market value because that's what they insure it on for the return mail. Who did you use to sign it?!? In assuming you did this yourself then?!? No facilitator? Unless you are one?!? Also did you ccs it Express also?!? I'm not the person who posted the photo of the book, I was just giving you general info on submitting to CGC. No idea about the signatures etc. you're asking about. With CCS, they have walk-through service also.

  3. Is the final issue of this run the most collectible? I see that the last handful are priced higher I would assume from low distribution.
  4. What did they fix exactly? Just curious because I have a 2nd print with a long crease and some signature depressions on the cover. Who signs in ball point pen! Argh.
  5. I don't get it. Can someone change the shipping address post-order and the seller be responsible for it?
  6. I've shopped at St. Mark's and here's my thoughts. For new issues they have the most infuriating rack that easily puts creases right in the middle of books. I don't understand why any self-respecting shop uses a rack with a board right in the middle of the book like this. Their back issues are overpriced as someone stated above. However, I've been to their "1/2 off" all back issues flash sales and then they're worth it. I picked up a nice copy of Star Wars #1 for cheap off the wall.
  7. It is a rare book in high grade, but he's listing the same graded book over and over. These aren't legitimate sales that are just falling through. I get it, but by asking him he will know that people are onto his shady practice. In the end E-Bay should cut this person_without_enough_empathy loose. I have communicated with him during one of the sales and he has one copy of this. Apparently he isn't aware of the ability to search for previous listings or just doesn't care.

  9. Normally I would never post to this thread because I believe there's always the possibility that someone is just angry at someone else and wants revenge. In this case, I haven't bought anything from this seller but he is clearly abusing the system. This is tib-1 (formerly loneranger001) who keeps selling the same Spawn comics with private bidding and then relisting them when presumably through shill bidding he doesn't get the price he wants. Take for example Spawn #9 Newsstand PGX 9.8 #501171853. He has sold the same exact comic at least 5 times, here are the ones I can find: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spawn-9-PGX-9-8-Newsstand-RARE-like-Spawn-1-newsstand-Spawn-Black-White-ANGELA-/331917729103?hash=item4d47d69d4f:g:47kAAOSwubRXLfKn http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spawn-9-PGX-9-8-Newsstand-RARE-like-Spawn-1-newsstand-Spawn-Black-White-/331903101024?hash=item4d46f76860:g:47kAAOSwubRXLfKn http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spawn-9-PGX-9-8-Newsstand-RARE-like-Spawn-1-newsstand-Spawn-Black-White-/331899211795?hash=item4d46bc1013:g:47kAAOSwubRXLfKn http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spawn9-PGX-9-8-Newsstand-RARE-like-Spawn-1-newsstand-B-W-S-M-Platinum-Gold-UPC-/331895241459?hash=item4d467f7af3:g:47kAAOSwubRXLfKn http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spawn-9-PGX-9-8-Newsstand-Edition-very-rare-like-SM-Platinum-Chromium-Gold-UPC-/331850380564?hash=item4d43d2f514:g:47kAAOSwubRXLfKn It appears he bought the comic back on 3/24/16 for $175 + $12 shipping (listing # 371362548248 now unavailable to view). I keep track of these sales because I follow Spawn listings closely and ebay won't clamp down on this practice from what I've experienced.
  10. TMNT #1 caught up quite a bit in 2 years but AF 15 is still more expensive. Just wondering why in less than 2 years time TMNT #1's basically doubled. Kinda makes no sense just like WWBN 32's price increase. Even with a movie or TV series the prices don't make sense. The TMNT higher grades have significantly increased recently because the lower grades had already seen the same increases in the past. There was a disconnect for a long time even up through the 2014 Turtles movie. Now they've re-established an equilibrium I would expect to last for a while.
  11. Ok well it's one of a kind and all but 5 G's? Someone has too much in their bank account.
  12. ^ Good summary. So, since you are the resident expert on these issues, any other observations? Why do you think 4th printing is smaller run than 5th? I agree with you just by my own un-scientific observations. But the market seems to favor the 5th print as prices are double or more from what I see. The rarest though in my opinion is #19, 3rd printing. That book rarely comes up for sale.
  13. Throwing nostalgia aside, I'm going to say TMNT #1 9.6 from a sheer investment perspective. As far as price: AF 15 4.0 CGC sells for what I can surmise around 13K. TMNT #1 9.6 CGC sells for around 15K recently and is rising. As far as supply: There are as of now 156 AF 15 cgc 4.0's out there. There are only 38 TMNT #1 1st prints in 9.6 in circulation. The clear winner is TMNT. TMNT in this case is a clear winner in my book, only based on the grades. Nostalgia aside.
  14. This is true, the MoS #17's have cooled off and now the focus is on #18. Although the sheer # available of #18 1st prints has kept the price level at around $15-20 for NM copies. The 2nd prints sell for 1/2 the price of the 1st roughly. The 3rd printing I don't see enough to really know. The 4th printing sells for around $30 in NM. The 5th printing has leveled off and sells for $75 approximately for a NM raw copy. The focus on Doomsday will likely change again, and who knows what Death of Superman issue will be the next hot one.
  15. I don't use these services because like you said you can search for free sales on eBay but seeing a chart of historical sales could be a nice touch. Trends are really impossible to determine just looking at the past couple months on the bay.
  16. I've found that sellers having all the bad behavior you describe like this are a small minority. Many have one bad habit (ie. packing poorly, poor description, rudeness, etc.) but let's be honest - everyone is human. I'll leave negative feedback only as a last resort. Generally its when a seller hasn't resolved things and forced a confrontation through ebay. As far as banned list here, I would use your own experiences and put only the most egregious cases from here. One-sided rants about someone, no matter how clear they appear, always have another side to the story.
  17. Bold! But sketch-city. Reported.
  18. Ok thanks. That makes sense. It sounds like Eastman needed the cash in the 2000's and PL bought him out, then PL sold for $60M to Nick right around the recession. Not a bad payday. I bet he has lots of cushion to do his pottery now! It would be great to see him team up with KE for a one-shot or something. Speaking of which, when was the last full Eastman/Laird collaboration on TMNT?
  19. Thanks for the link but PL most likely isn't going to answer money questions. You can see from his answers how guarded he is about the most vague details, I would be too I'm sure.
  20. Did anyone see Kevin Eastman on Storage Wars the other night? It appears to have been a new episode with Darrel and his son finding some comics, among them the first 4 Mirage books. I was all excited to see if a #1 first print was found. I won't spoil it here. It seems Eastman sold his interest in the ownership of the Turtles to Laird sometime ago, then in 2009 Laird sold rights to Nickelodeon for $60 Million. Apparently Laird can do a limit of 18 Turtles comics per year per the agreement. Hmmm....so my question is what are the limits on Eastman's involvement with the title? He clearly still draws them. And how much did he sell his rights to Laird for?
  21. So if you were to trust someone to press a high-value book like this, who would you use?
  22. New rates are higher. However, one plus I see is the First Class weight cutoff is now 1 lb (was 13 oz.) so to ship 1 comic (maybe 2 thin ones) you can still do it for relatively cheap and fast with First Class. Overall USPS is still a very good value.
  23. Well seeing as it was a clip on a late night talk show and not some official trailer I won't make snap judgements. I always thought Bale was a very good Batman and Affleck, of all of the actors who've played the character, can make a good run at it I believe. Looks fine for a few seconds and no context.
