  1. I'd be willing to wager 1/4-1/3 of the entire print run is in personal collections on these boards. Hell, I know for a fact half the NYCC #1s are
  2. this seller is a notorious sheller with 5 accounts (last i checked). Ive reported him to ebay multiple times. just fyi guys. be careful I wonder who that is. I tried to bid on something, and I'm blocked. Obviously a problem seller. I bought one of their listings recently that was "9.8". Received the book and it was a 9.0/9.2 at best. The pictures hid the flaws perfectly. Initiated the return and seller offered me a partial refund instead. I refused and the book is now on its way back. Will never bid on another one of their auctions again.
  3. +1 I think it's a neat idea if you're already on board but as a new reader I don't know if it will have the desired effect. I wish you all the best Tim. Thank you for keeping us informed here on the boards. I know there's some decisions that have to be made that many people wont agree with but if you're behind it then I am as well. I look forward to future issues.
  4. I missed the earlier discussion, and while I personally prefer continuous numbering, it might make sense in this case to start over with a new #1, but I'd make it #1 of a new ongoing series. The print numbers are so low of the first 6 issues that I can see potential readers picking up the trade but then buying monthly if they can jump on with a #1 issue, whereas if they continue with the existing numbering people may trade-wait if they're the types not to collect a run unless they can get the whole run I can understand trying to get a fresh group aboard for a #1 but making it a 1-6 just leaves question marks. What will happen at the end of issue 6? Another reboot? Just have multiple chapters of 1-6? Just seems to make things confusing in the long run. There's been a lot of comparisons with this book and Walking Dead. One of the main reasons I've enjoyed Walking Dead is because it is a continuous story. IMO if you want more people to jump on board with #1 just have a second or third printing and the TPB. But, If it is going to be a reboot to get more people on board for a #1 then make it a continuous run.
  5. The renumbering idea is just horrid imo. As a new reader I love to see a straight run. I see a 4-6 book mini series I just kind of look over it. It never bodes well for a book from what I've seen but I'll wait to see what Tim has to say.
  6. That would be me... i can finally get a full night of sleep ... big thanks to Ant!!!! Welcome to the club!
  7. That is absolutely ridiculous imo. People are missing something special with this one. I'm glad I got mine. I can wait to get the TPB, then I'll share with others. I got a feeling once the TPB comes out you'll see those numbers start creeping up. I pre ordered three of them just so I can share.
  8. Congrats, and well I might be interested if you keep us in mind I always offer my books here first I'll keep you posted
  9. Got a 9.8 on my copy I sent to CGC!! Ill be selling my 9.8 SS with this news.
  10. There will be a lot of 9.8s with a few 9.9s on all the covers. The paper stock is high quality. It's up to you when to get them graded. Nobody can really tell you that. I'm going to get most of mine graded this summer.
  11. IMO it will never eclipse the Phantom #1 just because of print run numbers. I might be wrong but with a print run under 600 the Phantom will be almost impossible to find as more fans come along .
  12. I've got to get another copy of this book. Forgot how much I love that cover.. that yellow gets me every time.
  13. or you could sell the raw copy... I may sell one of them as well You could always sell one to me since I'm in Cape this week
  14. From what I remember the sales thread stated there was no sketch?? Am I wrong?
  15. The thing is if Enormous does eventually branch out past comics and the masses catch wind of it these books will be almost impossible to get your hands on. A NYCC might come up for sale a few times a year and imo $600 isn't even scratching the surface of what the potential is on that book. I could see 2-3 years down the line quite a few kicking themselves for not buying one when they had the chance. Even if it doesn't get mega popular I love the book and am ecstatic I get to watch it grow from the beginning.
  16. Great looking book! If I ever get the opportunity I'm definitely getting a sketch on the back cover of mine. That monster is pure awesome!
  17. That's a good price. Anything under $150 is solid imo.
  18. I couldn't pass it up. Might be the only opportunity for me to get a SS of that book.
  19. Congrats and welcome jcjames! Those pics do look better than the originals. Good looking copy..
  20. There's a chance I will be selling my original copy that I have off at grading now that I have an SS copy. I'll update if I do.
