There are results on some ungraded sets (55-60) over $100

Someone (or several someones) need to learn where to sign comics. There are plenty of unobtrusive places that would have been better than the selected areas

Moon Knight #20 from the 2008 series has had some good results. Maybe because it includes a reprint of WWBN 32? Probably a pretty good series to look for potential books considering reduced sales numbers.

The day they announces the Captain Marvel movie I went out to fill some holes in my collection, and I had to "settle" for the reprint of 17 at $4.50 from the back issue bins. It's now a CGC 9.4.

The Matrix Preview from 1999 has some decent results with the announcement of the new movie.

To be fair, Rage was a completely original character (that is, not derivative of an existing Marvel character). This was a period where comic sales were booming, and Marvel was looking to cash in by creating entire families of characters around their tentpoles. That's where the push for these three (and the expansion of Midnight Sons, and Fantastic Force, and Force Works, etc.) came from. They wanted a family of titles around anything successful. Even the relatively new New Warriors spawned Nova, Night Thrasher, and Justice spinoffs. A good number of Spider-man (pardon…Spider-men, since we also had Ben Reilly then) family characters also had their own series or minis (Silver Sable, Venom, Solo, Nightwatch, etc) in this period. Not to mention the dozens of mutant titles. Marvel's problem was they wanted tons of titles, but there was a dearth of quality talent. I have a friend who pencilled some stories at the time, and one of the storylines he was working on was written by one of the assistant editors who had never had written for comics before, and basically wrote the same exact story for a couple of continuous issues of a title before he suggested to the editor that maybe they needed to tweak things so they weren't duplicating the previous issue.

The logo in the letter would be an interesting one to use for a Star Wars mini or variant editions. The final design is now so iconic, it's interesting to see some unused designs

The previous statement regarding desirability that you seemed to be responding to didn't seem to be discussing desirability as an investment, just desirability as a book. There's no question that the choice in that situation would be 181 for most collectors. Opinions might vary as far as which is better invetsment

I think the fact that nothing X-Men-related has been announced so far for Phase 4 says that Marvel doesn't want to rush the introduction. That they want a good plan to roll out quality movies. So it may not be soon, but when they come, they should be comparable in quality of the Marvel movies so far. That suggests that any first appearance has at least some promise. I half expect them to do some sort of adaptation of House of M (not completely faithful, obviously, since mutants aren't currently around) to sort of retrofit mutants into the MCU, so we don't have to start from scratch with all of them as brand new characters

Marvel Spotlight #28 (first MK solo story) should have its day soon too.
