  1. Sorry for so long before responding. I don't really collect comics anymore. The question you ask is hard to answer, but I will try. Underground comix was a movement, started in the 1960's with the hippy culture. Probably a solid definition for underground comix can be found at wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_comix The book you have is considered an indy or independent comic. Coming from the tradition of Cerebus, Elfquest and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. After the Turtles hit big, there was a period of time where everyone wanted to self publish their own black and white comic, so much so to the point a lot of substandard work came out and it became a glut of poor quality black and white books. I would probably guess this book came out around this time, due to the subject matter.
  2. It looks to simply be a misprint, where only the color blue was printed. Neat item, could be worth something to someone who collects printing errors. It's not really an underground comix or from the Bronze age, so it doesn't really fit this thread.
  3. It was colored by hand by someone. The pencil art itself is of course a photocopy. Wondering if it might be “color art” like many comic companies used. They would photocopy the original pencils and then the colorist would use paints to color the photocopy and use that in the production of the comic.
  4. Hey guys, working on selling my comix. I have this piece that I bought off eBay a long time ago. It’s not original art, but a copy on Kodak paper that was hand colored, which you can tell in person. First of all, I’m wondering what it was used for and who colored it. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  5. One Bump and then will close it out if no interest. Thanks for those who have taken a look!
  6. The World of Ginger Fox Signed and Numbered hardcover edition by Comico. Signed by Mike Baron and Mitch O'Connell, numbered #215 out of 1200. Nice condition, light wear to dust jacket, but otherwise great. $20 shipped in the United States via Paypal Goods and Services. No International, too costly. 30 days returns for any reason.
  7. My Whatnot handle is brotherjcomix, just like my eBay name. It’s an app, so you should be able to find it wherever you get apps from. I spend way too much money on Whatnot, it’s addictive. I have sold comics on there with mixed results. I thought trying underground’s on there might be a good idea as I have not seen anyone else selling them on there.
  8. So I’m out of the market, can anyone tell me if undergrounds are still sold on eBay and if so, how they are doing? I have a storage unit of comics I need to empty out by selling, including a large underground collection. I’m going to try selling comix on Whatnot, if anyone uses that.
  9. Does eBay still allow you to file a non paying bidder case? Someone sent an offer on my book, I accepted and they never paid. I had to wait and then when I was able to take action, it appears they only allowed me to cancel the sale and relist. I don't even know if they refunded my fees. So this looks to me like eBay now gives buyers a free pass to bid on stuff and not pay. Sorry if this has been discussed on here before, but I am pretty much out on comics and trying just to sell at this point, so I don't keep up the way I used to. The non paying bidder's handle was deathstar88.
  10. I'm looking to sell my copy of Mr. Natural #2 CGC 9.6 Purple Label. I know purple labels are a tough sale, but this one has an interesting story behind it. I purchased this from Howard Greber, a fantastic gentleman who went by the handle "Eggs Ackley" on the boards here and in other areas. The story behind the purple label is that Howard bought the books from Don Donahue and then found many of them came back color touched. I think he said he believed Donahue did it just to make the books look better. I remember Howard being quite aggravated by the whole thing. Howard passed it on to me at a low price (which I don't recall), and now it's time to me to move it on. I am asking $49.99 plus $15.00 for the book. I accept Paypal. Returns accepted for 30 days. It's been a while since I have tried to sell anything here. It looks like I only have thumbnail pictures of the books. If anyone wants the fullsize photos, I can e-mail them to you.
  11. dramabeatz8 Timewaster. Makes an offer, I accept offer and then he doesn't bother to pay.
  12. Nice gesture, I sold the 9.0 for MUCH less than what it would go for now, but I don't regret it as I made a good friend out of the deal, and he is a fellow Cheesehead (says the cheesehead transplant who is now back in PA).
  13. I know the seller of the Ebon 9.0 and the 9.4. He is a friend of mine and the 9.0 was my copy which I had slabbed. He is intentionally listing the prices high as he will sell them, but someone would have to pay dearly. He has the Best Offer featured enabled, but I know will not let them go cheap. Prices are going high for many key African-American books as there is a fan base willing to spend the money.
  14. Actually, I think this copy is higher grade than my other copy. Only have two.
  15. Thanks, that's my auction. No bids yet.
  16. Good pickup. Could be a printing error where the red and yellow ink was not applied to the front cover.
  17. Found another copy in the wild at a very friendly price. Thrilled to have another.
  18. Is it possible this store is pre-selling issues #2 and #3 along with the #1 in that bag? See the little tag that shows a #3? And the price they are charging is the cover price times three. Just a thought.
  19. fsdgsd-20 Listed over 200 copies of the Last Ronin #1 for $18.80, apparently isn't going to deliver any of them as the negs have started floating in. Oh well, shouldn't be hard to get my money back, I guess.
  20. Dexter doesn't let me forget! He is always posting his new stuff on Facebook. I usually let the stuff stack up for a year or so and then place an order.
  21. If you're looking for current comix, you have to try The Comix Company: https://thecomixcompany.ecrater.com/ Definitely has a vintage underground feel to them. Focusing on the sex part of the underground comix movement.
