  1. In a lower grade, certainly. You might want to get in before Deadpool 3 and the live-action reboot by Marvel.
  2. Everything continues to go down, and here I refer to longstanding items, not "mickey mouse moderns" that have appeared in the last few years. I believe the market will rebound, but not until the economy in general corrects itself. I'm happy for my items to sit on Ebay until someone makes a serious offer (and yes, that may take a while). When people start having disposable income again, there's a chance.
  3. I just had a quick look - it was. What a shame. I always like his sensible observations. RIP my friend.
  4. I've just seen this. Was this the gent with the avatar of the cartoon of the gent with the 70s looking hair and beard?
  5. Never mind the Moderns. Given the current CGC scandal, I'd say that there are plenty of collectors heating up, Ebay or no Ebay...
  6. Enjoy. I know I had a laugh when Tom Bosley discussed comics and the price of a Detective Comics #27.
  7. This ultra-rare issue almost never appears. Price $7,000. $80 for packaging and shipping from Australia. Paypal only. Happy to field questions.
  8. That's fine. I'm locking everything up and returning to hyper sleep in the next five years. I'll give your regards to your grandchildren.
  9. True on paper, but if one had purchased one of these or another gem at the outset, there will be a sizeable profit no matter the eventual outcome.
  10. Then perhaps it should? This is obviously an exception to the rule. Certainly more interesting than Miles Morales.
  11. What about this? It went under the radar and may be an artificial sale to boost the price. https://www.ebay.com/itm/166279890451?hash=item26b70dc613:g:kNkAAOSwOZ5k2e4f&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0GHFVScLJ5Dbh2gX72ik20EgG%2FiM8DTEtl4Mynu5vJCzikPZDKk9wHiJAyP6likw0v1lZcPsYJnPDPAIiUIbaJymTGhm6Z0Nrg%2B6Qg8jqAEAfPh1Klq%2FjlryxhkpLVVt0Clx7LZw1qzd92aDMwYoKiuqLkmTO2ovpgXK0m4o8t%2F3izyAC7IKE9NGT4IzLoO8sjWzjM1OkCIK4hlUcnKk864fUhqiJobC6U6ToeztxdPbTxkdQKslopfQWFcv9SGWaLUsVH%2BlMz73Ox1Unx9He0s%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-iX_5LtYg
  12. Well, I can only speak from my own personal experience as a seller, but from what I have observed there has been a dramatic slowdown on the purchase of high-end slabs. Even a 9.8 will sit there on display for months, despite umpteen watchers. I believe that things will rebound, but not until late 2024 at the earliest. On an aside, I think the fact that the MCU now needs reinventing has also made people skittish and wary of big comic-related purchases, as there's no guarantee of a return. So, the ships are moored in the harbour...while we sit in the tavern and wait.
  13. Hey, you are entitled to have an opinion. I think we're all just trying to get a handle on this strange post-COVID market.
  14. Pricy little number. As 78 copies in 9.8, #1 probably shouldn't command that price as not that scarce and not an original story. Methinks the Star Wars factor keeps it in collections and therefore scarce.
  15. Heh. The old Treasury Editions. Good times for kids. I had a Batman Edition I loved.
  16. Thanks for the clarification. I can certainly relate as I have conducted private sales that do not reflect the listed price of some issues.
  17. Respectfully, can you advise as to the sales price? I'm simply curious (not argumentative).
  18. I'm going to agree with devald here. When a 9.8 finally does go for auction, those that can afford it will be prepared to pay. It only takes 2 cashed up buyers to get into a bidding war and that 40K threshold will be broken. I don't believe UH#4 has the staying power, but there are some other ultra-rare gems out there that could do it if circumstances are right (it might take at least 2 sales but possible)
  19. Wow. I knew if I waited long enough one of these would reappear. I'm guessing the seller needs the cash. It's a bad time to sell but I wish them well. Yet to see the magical 9.8...
  20. I was able to pay upfront for said education. For that I am grateful.
  21. 1. I am young. 2. I picked the right items. 3. I can afford to wait (see also Point 1).
  22. Exactly. There will be another surge - eventually. Everything goes in cycles. Patience is the watchword now.
  23. I wanted to see if anyone wanted to argue the point about quantity. While I like those Lee splashes (such as the famous Captain Ametica shot), I stand by my assertion about Lee art in general.
