  1. Thought there were a few bargains in Sunday's session, including my Darwyn Cooke Green Lantern variant cover. I'm obviously biased, but I think whoever won that got a great deal. Also thought the Irv Novick splash page from Batman #334 featuring Ra's and Talia al Gaul would have gone close to $10K, but fell short. That's a great page from a classic storyline. I think the Curt Swan/Tex Blaisdell Flash Hostess page was a really good buy. I liked it way more than the Joker page, which sold for $3600 more.
  2. Album Comics in Paris is fantastic. Great shop - not far from Notre Dame. 67 Boulevard Saint-Germain ..
  3. Wow, that is an absolutely gorgeous Ditko Spidey image! Truly impressed by the material CL has gathered for this auction. One of their best in a long time.
  4. Man, that is spectacular! The pinnacle of Kirby's Fourth World work, IMO. wonder what this will sell for ...
  5. I'm no expert on Byrne X-Men art values, but I agree that the page sold for less than I thought. I expected it to hit $100k with the entire team ( that center panel is a beaut) in a page from a historic issue.
  6. I LOVE that Temple of Doom cover and intend to bid on it, but am almost certain it will go beyond my budget. This was another great interview by Felix. Really enjoyed the conversation between the two and I love that Dave is so open about discussing his collection. Also, I'd take the cover art to Uncanny X-men #141 over #137 ALL DAY
  7. Happy to have this great page from Web of Spider-Man #35 by Alex Saviuk & Keith Williams in my collection. Love black costume Spidey!
  8. I've seen a great recreation by the inker, Pablo Marcos, but not one by Perez.
  9. Just saw this pop up on Heritage's site - no image yet, but WOW. This should have lots of collectors lined up to bid on this piece. IMO, the top cover from the Perez Avengers era. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/covers/george-perez-and-pablo-marcos-avengers-161-cover-original-art-marvel-1977-/p/7358-149001.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515
  10. **UPDATE** Heard back from Alex this morning, and thankfully, he's doing OK. Hi folks, Anyone here been in contact with Alex Saviuk since NYCC? I know he had been laid up with COVID shortly after the show -- he posted about it on Facebook. Been trying to get in touch with him but have been unable to. He's usually very prompt about responding. If anyone here is friends with him and wouldn't mind getting a message to him, please LMK. Thanks, Mike
  11. Giving this a friendly BUMP since two of the auctions end TONIGHT. A Bronze Age Aquaman title splash and a killer Dazzler page are up for grabs tonight ... Thanks for looking, Mike
  12. The Laff-a-Lympics was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid, so happy to score this cool page from issue #4 of the Marvel Comics adaptation. Jack Manning/Scott Shaw page featuring classic cartoon characters like Yogi Bear, Dastardly & Muttley, Scooby and more.
  13. Hi folks, I have a couple pages up for auction at ComicLink that end on Oct. 24. Both are really nice Bronze Age examples. They are: Dazzler #16 pg 8 half-splash by Frank Springer/Vince Colletta - Awesome full figure image of Dazz in her classic disco duds! Action Comics #518 pg 1 splash (Aquaman) - really nice title splash of Aquaman and Mera by Don Heck -- "The Poseidon Adventure." Bronze Age splashes featuring Aquaman are really hard to find. This one's a beauty. Thanks for checking them out! Mike
  14. holy , that's awesome. Didn't know it was a tracing of an actual photograph of the Hindenburg. Doubly awesome that the artist held on to the artwork!
  15. Related -- here's a story regarding the controversy surrounding the original art to Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" https://theoutline.com/post/4490/jethro-tull-aqualung-cover-artist-burton-silverman
  16. I don't know guys, but I think this is a new record for the derailing of a Heritage auction thread.
  17. I agree. I stayed away because I thought it would end at over $5K
  18. Doubtful the winner was going to let that one slip through their fingers.
  19. Sorry you missed out on the ROTJ page -- a beauty of a page that went for a solid price. But that Blade Runner page yesterday is a nice consolation prize!
  20. That Star Wars #5 cover going for $108k was pretty impressive. Wonder if that's been in the same collection since the 70s? If so, what an ROI! And how about the Shogun Warriors #1 cover going for $66k (including the vig)?!? Didn't think it would get anywhere close to that.
