Hey Byrne Xmen experts! Might the Xmen 137 page have underperformed a bit? I don't know that market as well as some, but the 81k price seems a tad light? Also thinking about it next to the DD 181 page at 156k--nice pages from big time key issues--but about half the price for the Xmen page with all the main characters, and the DD page that's Bullseye only. I know, kinda apples and oranges in some regards, but the comparison interests me.
I'm no expert on Byrne X-Men art values, but I agree that the page sold for less than I thought. I expected it to hit $100k with the entire team ( that center panel is a beaut) in a page from a historic issue.

...from my writeup on CAF:
I've owned this page for a few years now. It's the right-hand page to a long-separated Double Page Spread from MICRONAUTS 57 (1983) by Butch Guice and Kelley Jones.
Missing pages from DPS's occur from time to time, and, in my mildly OCD-addled collector's mind, are pretty maddening. Fortunately, the MICRONAUTS are not present on this DPS, so the priority has always been low.
The DPS likely was distributed intact to Guice, judging by the remnants of tape on the reverse, as well as the pricing note (twice the price of a similar 'single' page from the issue, written in the same handwriting. Kelley Jones has not sold any of his MICRONAUTS originals, to my knowledge, so it must have been Butch). How or why this page got separated from its mate I don't know, but it seems likely they were sold intact.
Looking at the content of the page, unless you're familiar with the issue, it might not be immediately obvious it's part of a DPS. Only one panel (on the top) is really affected.
Bottom line: I'm not married to this page, despite it being part of a vintage storyline. While I would certainly entertain the notion of buying Page 4 should it be made available, I'm just as happy to GIVE AWAY this page FOR FREE to the collector who owns its mate.
So, yes. PAGE FIVE, FOR FREE, but only to the proven owner of of PAGE FOUR. I'll even pay shipping to get it to them. That's a pretty fantastic offer!

Its funny how the 600k Stormtrooper costume sort of gets lost in this isn't it?
Would love to hear predictions on the Guice TOD cover. Felix may have misspoke and called it #2 or maybe that one is coming this summer? Ditto for the Campbell cover. I like's his assessment that the interiors from that series are really the draw. The covers are very strange IMO.
I LOVE that Temple of Doom cover and intend to bid on it, but am almost certain it will go beyond my budget. This was another great interview by Felix. Really enjoyed the conversation between the two and I love that Dave is so open about discussing his collection.
Also, I'd take the cover art to Uncanny X-men #141 over #137 ALL DAY

That sounds familiar to me Malvin.
I've seen a great recreation by the inker, Pablo Marcos, but not one by Perez.

Didn't get a chance to check this out fully but was curious about this Bob McLeod MoonKnight page. I don't really know his market
Finished at just over $1100 with the fee. Like it quite a bit
a great page. I forgot about this auction.

Just saw this pop up on Heritage's site - no image yet, but WOW. This should have lots of collectors lined up to bid on this piece. IMO, the top cover from the Perez Avengers era.

**UPDATE**
Heard back from Alex this morning, and thankfully, he's doing OK.
Hi folks,
Anyone here been in contact with Alex Saviuk since NYCC? I know he had been laid up with COVID shortly after the show -- he posted about it on Facebook. Been trying to get in touch with him but have been unable to. He's usually very prompt about responding. If anyone here is friends with him and wouldn't mind getting a message to him, please LMK.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi folks,
I have a couple pages up for auction at ComicLink that end on Oct. 24. Both are really nice Bronze Age examples. They are:
Dazzler #16 pg 8 half-splash by Frank Springer/Vince Colletta - Awesome full figure image of Dazz in her classic disco duds!
Action Comics #518 pg 1 splash (Aquaman) - really nice title splash of Aquaman and Mera by Don Heck -- "The Poseidon Adventure." Bronze Age splashes featuring Aquaman are really hard to find. This one's a beauty.
Thanks for checking them out!

holy , that's awesome. Didn't know it was a tracing of an actual photograph of the Hindenburg. Doubly awesome that the artist held on to the artwork!

Several Mortimer Spidey Super Stories panel pages have sold in excess of $2K, and I also recall a few of his splashes selling for over $4K. If anything, this splash may have underperformed, given it’s content
I agree. I stayed away because I thought it would end at over $5K

Very surprised the Star Wars cover stalled where it did.
Doubtful the winner was going to let that one slip through their fingers.

So this was the first time I ever got approval for an extended payment plan with HA....and then I proceeded to forgot about the auction today and totally spaced the page I was after. If anyone has a Williamson ROTJ page...
To the winner, nice buy I think and in line with recent comps. I would have gone higher as I've been after one for awhile.
Took down the BR page yesterday though, nice provenance on both.
Sorry you missed out on the ROTJ page -- a beauty of a page that went for a solid price. But that Blade Runner page yesterday is a nice consolation prize!

The 2 pages from Dazzler #4 sold for very strong prices, $2700 & $2500. Those are the highest prices yet for any Dazz pages at auction, outside the splash from #3 and a 1/2 splash from #2.
didn't really keep an eye on the rest of the auction, purposely, as I'm waiting on the heritage auction. -

Wow, that is an absolutely gorgeous Ditko Spidey image! Truly impressed by the material CL has gathered for this auction. One of their best in a long time.
