Actually, my response here is in response to MCS talking here on the Boards about this being a problem and their plans for how to resolve. No, I agree that before it was fine. But it crossed a line at some point and people started taking advantage of their generosity and using the site to shoot for the stars and ask ridiculous. Colin (I think it's Colin) has spoken here about how it actually give MCS a bad look if everything is priced far outside what is acceptable. I think that your questions are exactly the questions that MCS has been thinking about how to address. Asking $2400.00 for a book that just sold for $400.00 is bad enough but when other consignors see that $2400.00 they get stars in their eyes and ask the same you'll have 6 sellers asking silly prices. And these sellers are anonymous (well, most are) so the only people that look bad are MCS. And in this case "letting the market decide" means people go elsewhere. And that's something MCS definitely doesn't want.

This is a tough one. I'd recommend that you palletize everything and shrinkwrap that mutha to Hell and get Harbor Freight or someone to take it. The boxes stay stationary during transit. I think you can do 40-50 boxes per pallet. Have them pick them up and take 'em to your new home. Barring that it just gets difficult. But off the top of my head: You're looking at 2,500 miles, probably 4 days travel. Rent a U-Haul. 3 nights minimum Hotel, Motel (Holiday Inn ). In the event that you can't do it yourself I have three ideas: 1. How about hiring someone on the Boards here to drive it? Maybe a Boardie that could use the extra cash. Even if they are not located in exact city you fly them or train them to where they need to be. Just pay for their time. 2. Contact AppleOne Employment services. Perhaps they would have someone ready for a temp assignment like this. 3. Find a student (preferably football) who attends SDSU and is making the trip to their home in NC. Maybe right now they are planning on flying but they could make some money doing this. You could throw this on the SDSU Bulletin Boards.

Oh, and as far as Conan is concerned I'm working on a 1-30 run and being picky about the copies I buy for the set. But I picked up a nice #10 the other day:

Right? I'll give anything that thinks outside the box a chance. It could be terrible but I'll give it a shot for trying something outside the norm. This though ended up being outstanding. One reason was that it featured Kulan Gath as the main villain. I always thought he was underused but this was great. Bringing in Doctor Doom was perfect. The Hellfire Club part was perfect Just a lot of fun all around.

I've really enjoyed Conan's Savage Avengers series. Yes, Conan in present day hanging with Dr Strange, Wolvie and Spidey is bonkers but it's one of the most entertaining things Marvel has put out in a while.

That will be great. The massive amount of consignments with 2020 prices is getting out of control. There are a few books I'm looking for and I'm finding them but they are double the price they should be. They are either stubborn and don't want to admit they're going to lose money or have no concept of "These titles have cooled off". These folks are free go to eBay and ask whatever they want but at MCS they should be required to take a class of "Just because you bought it for $XXX in 2020 right before the Shang-Chi or Captain Marvel movie doesn't mean you can ask the same price now"

Yeah, just how every responsible collector should be! The problem that I see is that every CGC book that I've REALLY wanted I overpaid for. Or maybe I underpaid? What I do know is that it was probably here, MCS, an LCS, HGC. Then I look up the book and think "just how accurate is this FMV"? And is GPA now recording sales from the main competitor to CGC? It just might be completely unreasonable to expect that 50% of the slabbed sales ever make it into their database. As I purchase more PCH and look and haven't seen a sale since 2007 I just wonder.

Good time to ask this re: GPA. I know they get data from eBay and Heritage, Hakes and ComicLink. But I have heard that they obtain data from other sources. Do they obtain sales data from Dealers? Where else might they get it from?

He does have a lot of sweet books lately! I'm tempted by many of his wares here.... Just the other day I purchased a HOM #217 CGC 9.2 from him and the packaging was outstanding and the shipping super speedy. You can purchase with absolute confidence here IMO.

Methinks you're giving both of these cretins more credit than is warranted. In all honesty, these two cats get a lot of my money here on these Boards for a reason. And they are both just sitting on mountains of Smaug sized treasure as well!

That's more than a crackhead price. $1100.00 per issue? I can't even see someone buying them for convenience. The time that it took to put this together is mindboggling. I'd rather have ASM #100-200 in 9.6.
