Anyone have opinions on Marvel Team-Up #65 (first U.S. appearance of Captain Britain) and Batman Who Laughs #1 January 2019 issue? There is a mid-grade copy of Marvel Team-Up #65 available at my local comic shop for about $12 and I'm wondering if Captain Britain will be a big deal in a year or two. And the Grim Knight is a Batman-Punisher mash-up who seems he could be a very popular character, Grim Knight first appears in Batman Who Laughs #1.

This comic book is heating up and this copy seems a pretty nice high grade. But there is some color rubbed off on the back cover and I'm wondering how much that would reduce the grade by?

Hi everyone, I'm considering buying a low grade copy of Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #70 - first silver age Catwoman. This book seems to sell above Guide price on ebay and on other venues. And fan interest seems pretty high despite the recent "non wedding" to Batman. Does anyone know what was Catwoman's last golden age appearance? Just wondering how many years elapsed between her last Golden age appearance and first silver age appearance. Thanks.

Hello, What grade should this Amazing Spider-Man #122 get? Front and back covers are nice, some spine wear, and there are a few small water stains on the back cover and last page of the book. All the pages are there and none of the pages have tears or missing pieces. Also some small blue scribble drawings beside the "Spidey sense" in the front cover, hard to notice. The spine has enough wear to push it down to less than F/VF 7.0 condition, hard to tell from photo of the front cover because of the white border but the spine wear is there. It was hard to capture the water stains even with my Galaxy smartphone camera (a good smartphone camera) so I added the labels. Please note that the orange arrows and water stain labels are just super-imposed on the last page and back cover. You can also see a water stain on the lower right corner of the back cover photo. The water stains have not soaked thru the book, and they're only on the last page and on the back cover of the book, and they're pretty small, but I understand that they will reduce the grade of the book. Thanks so much for your insights, Marwood & I. After I read your comment, I borrowed a friend's Overstreet guide, and yes, a split spine up to 0.5 inch long would only be a 5.0 at the most.

Hi everyone - I just bought a Marvel Preview #4 (1st Star Lord). Book is in great shape. Cover looks great, pages inside are nice and clean. Spine is tight, but only problem is that the lower part of the spine has a tear about 3/8 inch long (see very last photo below). The tear is three eighth of an inch (less than half an inch). If not for the tear, this book would be about 7.5 but with the 3/8 inch tear, what would it drop down to? I notice that some Marvel Preview mags from this era have these kinds of tears - maybe because of the cheap paper they were printed on? Thanks for the insights everyone. the blob, I liked your explanation about Rocket as a prototype in Marvel Preview #7, very interesting. Unlike Rocket Raccoon, who only had the one appearance in Marvel Preview #7, it seems that Star Lord was well fleshed out in those Marvel Preview appearances so Marvel Spotlight #6 doesn't seem like a very key issue to me.

Marvel Spotlight #6 Star-lord Comic as an Investment Book? Hi everyone, I'm Just wondering about Marvel Spotlight #6 (1980) as an Investment comic book? This is the first comic book appearance of Star-Lord and origin of Star-Lord, but wondering how key is this comic compared to his earlier appearances in Marvel Preview? Obviously Marvel Preview #4 is the big first appearance. It is THE KEY star lord comic. But I was wondering if collectors might warm up to Marvel Spotlight #6 in the similar way that they've warmed up to Rocket's first comic book appearance in Hulk #271. In the case of Rocket Raccoon, the Hulk #271 seems to be the definitive first apperance in mainstream Marvel continuity while Marvel Preview #7 IS THE first appearance but it does not occur in Marvel continuity, am I correct about this? This seems similar to the continuity problems in Harley Quinn's first appearance in B.A. #12. Near mint minus overstreet value of Marvel Spotlight #6 is $55, compared to $200 for the Hulk #271, wondering if Marvel Spotlight #6 is undervalued and may have some price increases in the next few years? Finally, are Star Lord's appearances in the Marvel Preview issues considered to be part of mainstream Marvel universe continuity? It looks like Marvel Preview #4 was also Star Lord's origin as well so this confuses me about the importance of Marvel Spotlight #6 and #7 as origin issues. I haven't read any of these early Star Lord issues, and I couldn't find any info online, so I hope to get some clarifications here. Thanks. Peter

First Appearance of Scott Lang versus First Appearance of Second Ant Man Hi everyone, Can anyone explain why Avengers 181 (1st appearance of Scott Lang) is worth less than Marvel Premiere #47 (1st appearance of the new Ant Man)? Avengers 181 precedes MP #47 so it SHOULD be worth more than MP#47 but it's not. I'm curious because I look at the Overstreet Guide value of Marvel Super-Heroes #13 (first Carol Danvers), and it is worth substantially more than Ms. Marvel #1 (first appearance of Ms. Marvel). Yes, I get it that MSH #13 is about 10 years older than Ms. Marvel #1, but this seems like a good analogy because the first appearance of Carol Danvers or of Scott Lang is the TRUE first appearance because it precedes the first appearance of the character in super-hero costume.
