  1. Seemed like a decent buying crowd. Dealers said they were doing OK. Even the older guy said he sold a lot of Big Little Books! Was glad I didn’t see a lot of Moderns. I mostly have GA/SA. Depending on the day, I might give it a try in Sept. PCC was a bust comic wise. Haven’t found many for quite a while. Neither has anybody else I know of. I guess you never know though. Luckily, I look for a lot of other stuff as well.
  2. The Flea was a bit of a bust other than the pinbacks I got a few Hoppalong Cassidy folded movie posters cheap and a few pulps from my pulp guy. He always saves them under the table till I get there.
  3. Had a weird mix of stuff. Mostly comics but some other stuff as well. A couple of real old guys selling premiums and Big Little Books seemed to be doing well. Only saw one cosplay girl in some kind of sexy Vampirilla get up. I really went to see if it would be worth getting a table and think it might be. Busy and people were spending money so perhaps next time. Any other boardies go?
  4. Brad Sloan F-VF had about the spread of GA/SA/BA books in the room. Great guy but he is a powerhouse. Moving like a tornado! He always has something for me. Tight grader and real fair pricing. Got a cool Super Magician I had never seen. Didn’t even notice until I got home it was an “Eldon” pedigree copy!
  5. Right next to Terry was this nice fellow all the over from Hawaii. Had one of the few booths with any decent GA offerings. He told me right away, that nearly all were defective in some way. The Marvel Mystery 51 looked fun. He said it was missing the first two wraps and was $375. OK, thanks... I asked about the Haunt of Fear 18 and it was decent and complete. Price was just very slightly aggressive. I offered him a little less and he turned me down. He said he just loves old books and hates to sell them. I later got him down to a price I could live with and bought it. It was kind of weird, I saw him refuse to give prices on most of them to other people. I really wanted that Gangsters and Gunmolls even though the covers were split and detached. He eventually told me $225... He had a few nice precedes under the table (Witches Tales 25 and others but just wouldn’t quote me any prices. Real nice guy but I had to wonder why he was there?
  6. Bumped right into board member Dreamtoreal (Pablo) pawing through Legend Terry Stroud’s meager offerings.
  7. How about a little Comic Con report? Went to a little con in the San Fernando Valley of LA yesterday. It happens quarterly and has been going on for a while. Probably an hour and a half from my house so I have never gone. I was up in the area for the flea market so I figured I’d make a 45 minute drive over. Real small show in a vacant store in a small shopping center. You really had to know it was there. Paid my $6. And wandered in. Checked out a small raffle offering and went into the small room.
  8. Thanks Mark. You are probably one of the few here who really appreciate these. Yeah, new discoveries all the time. Such hard to find stuff. And, they take up no space really. They also present so nice as a group. I don’t find a lot of these I need anymore but they seem to turn up in little groups from time to time. Here are two I got just yesterday. Even though I live in LA, I have never seen the 1930’s Examiner pin with Wimpy and Skippy. 7/8” nice color. The New Adventure Jr Federal Men Club I have seen s couple of times but’s been many years. Last one was probably in Hakes.
  9. Oh, that one sure qualifies! What a beautiful book!
  10. Saw this listed again on the bay for the 4th time! This time he comes clean. Just a little. Still real misleading. Hope one of you wern’t the latest victim of this tool. Forgot to leave him some well deserved feed back. Perhaps this is the time...
  11. Super Magician V3#7 Baseball Thrills #10 Spy Hunters #17 Autumn People PB Go to Jim (the buying machine!) gonna need a freight truck to ship yours out. Many thanks for all your purchases!
  12. OK, done. Everything marked sold up to date. I will let this run tomorrow and probably send out invoices on Tuesday. PLEASE! check your invoices carefully. This is the most books I've sold at one time here and I don't want to screw up anybody's order! Thanks Gang!
  13. SkOw grabs a sick Black Cat Mystery! Thanks, I will add to your pile!
  14. OK, last one of the thread and I'm going to close down, pop a beer and relax for a while... DC Comics 1936 New Adventure Comics Magazine Junior Federal Men Club Pinback! 2nd DC club behind the More Fun club. This is two years before Superman. Being a comic book premium collector, I can't stress how hard these are to find. They just aren't out there. This one has a tiny cello split just to the left of the wing otherwise great shape. The photo suks.My camera just doesn't do good close up photos. I went in a little close so the small print could be read. In hand, it is very sharp. Find a better one (or any one). You can own a great piece of DC history. I will try later to post a more clear photo but this will have to do for now. $225.
  15. SOLD! Black Cat Mystery #39 June 1952 Harvey Pubs What an awsome book. Great "Frankenstein" grabbing a little boy cover. Sick contents, just see the photos. I know why my mom hated books like this and the good Doctor selected for inclusion in Seduction of the Innocent! Very pretty copy. Check out that beautiful black cover. No tears, chips, creases or missing pieces.Glossy as all get out. Nice off white interior pages. But... there is always a but huh? The covers are very neatly split and detached from book. In a mylar you would be drooling... $50 as is...
  16. Racket Squad #12 Aug 1954 Charlton Pubs Wow, what a classic Ditko cover! I'm not a huge Ditko fan as a rule, but this one is in my top 5. You can really feel that explosion. And the contents? Wow,I think I will just let the pictures speak for themselves... Well, it's a little holy... Has two punch holes in spine and even one at the top right why? That being said, that is probably how this copy was so well preserved. Other than the holes, it is bright, clean and tight. Spine is smooth. Staples are very neatly popped but cover is still attached. No tears, creases or missing pieces. Book has a little wave to it. Not creased and I see no sign of water damage, just waved. Back cover has a bit on an indentation spot. Fresh, supple interior pages. $75.
  17. I will PM him when I get all done tonight and if not, it's yours and will let you know. I usually go by the first and he hasn't done it. You're a great guy to give him the chance
  18. Sorry Gang, I have a few more comics to put up but it seems to be raining on the "cloud" and I can't access my photos for some reason. Hang in there
