  1. Please add Tip Top 185-188 to the Peanuts set as these Tip Tops are full Peanuts covers. Please do NOT add the partial Peanuts covers from the Tip Top series. Thanks!
  2. Didn't show up in my reply, but I was referring to: Here's a 1.8 being offered on ebay @ 9.9k http://Support-the-Collectors-Society.com/itm/141860106091?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Still learning how to post....
  3. Looks like that particular book sold on Heritage in November, 2014 for a little under $2100. Has it really appreciated almost 500% in 14 months? Seems unlikely to me. That same seller has a Detective 38 in 1.5 for almost $17K that just sold on Heritage in November for $11,352. $5.5K appreciation in 2 months??? What am I missing here?
  4. Not sure how "obscure" these 2 are, but there's some definite WWII wackiness going on with these covers!
  5. Just got this one yesterday. Should be a solid 4.0 - 5.0. Quite happy to have it! Who would have thought these Tip Top's would be so dang hard to find! Seriously, over the 27 years I've been collecting things, hunting these Tip Tops has by far been the most challenging! Who'd a thunk it?
  6. I got this one "raw" off of ebay as well last year. Again, buy-it-now, pretty expensive, listed by a big dealer as "VF". Certainly looked vf at first blush. When I got it I noticed a half-dollar-sized wrinkle on the front cover caused by water from a small glass, I'm guessing. The dealer said "tough", but I was so happy to have a copy that I kept it. I didn't notice the couple of blemishes on the back cover until later. Sent it in and it came back a very disappointing 4.0. The eye-appeal on this comic probably makes it the nicest presenting 4.0 Tip Top 185 out there. The water wrinkle is tough to see. I'm still happy I got it.
  7. If we're doing a role call, here's one I've got. Picked this up off of ebay early last year. It was "raw" and had a buy-it-now on it. I saw the listing about 10 minutes after it was posted. I wanted to hit the buy-it-now button immediately, but I had to read the whole description and look at all the photos first. I thought my heart was going to explode while I did that! The comic wasn't cheap, but was very reasonable. I sent it in to CGC hoping for a 7.0 and dreading a 5.0. Came back a 6.0! I was pleased. It's definitely my favorite comic in my entire collection. The full-cover Peanuts Tip-Tops are a close second. I have a 185 and a 188. DESPERATELY need a 186 and 187. I have some good silver age stuff to trade for either of those.
  8. So a year or more ago I posted an image of a double-cover Adventure 42 that I found and asked opinions as to what I should do with it (restoration-wise) as there was some inset damage on the edge of the binding-side of the comic. Well, I left it alone and sent it into CGC exactly the way I found it. I was very pleasantly surprised when it came back--CGC 6.0 blue label--double cover, outer cover 2.5, inner cover 6.0, overall grade 6.0. WOW! I love the book, but would love to leverage it against a low grade Detective 36 or 37...dream on, right! Anyway, here are some updated pics:
