  1. Please remove Wolverine 50 Australian price variant from the 1988 Wolverine set. Australian variants have no place in a U.S. based set. Slot removed from set: Wolverine (1988) Slot added to set Wolverine (Complete with Variants) 6/3/22 If you make an exception for that then please combine ALL foreign variants into all sets. Yeah, I'm not going to do that.... You can start with combining Knockabout comics Fat Freddy's Cat #1 into the regular Fat Freddy's Cat set as well as IH 181 German variants into the Incredible Hulk set etc. Request denied.
  2. The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and Fat Freddy's Cat is set to begin streaming on TUBI this Sunday, FYI. I still have a problem with them changing the Cat from male to female and using Tiffany Haddish as the voice actor. Couldn't they have just made one of the dudes into a woman like Phineas could've been Penelope or something.
  3. Finishing up with 7th grade end of semester tests? Agreed, narcissists like an audience.
  4. Which part of what I said did you not understand? Rather than posting all your proof, maybe you should learn to read a post before accusing someone you know nothing about of making stuff up.
  5. Agree, I've seen the same. This was my first and last time doing crossover. You guys... it is a cautionary tale. I am stating that I attempted the crossover grading service with a high dollar comic. I stated the grade was lower than what I would have expected. I provided the reasoning, namely that there was a huge difference in the value (huge loss instead of huge gain). Yes, I knew the risk.
  6. "These are not the droids you are looking for... let them pass.... you don't need to see our papers"
  7. I think the ongoing theme here is I don't read the forums enough. I usually glance at stuff every once in a while and my recollection was what I mentioned. I don't spend hours reading through forums and responding much except to look through for sale stuff or post "want to buy" ads. I think I've participated in the scanner thread from when I wanted a scanner and maybe posted about some underground comics too.
  8. So, the main documentation on the website did not have the EX info anywhere back in the beginning of May of this year when I submitted. The turnaround times page and the actual submission information had absolutely nothing. I searched high and low after the rep on the phone said that it needed to be written on the box. I spent the time on the phone with them and we both walked through the submission from scratch and neither of us could find anything. I had not considered the fact that I should have researched the forums for information regarding Express submissions that I didn't know had specific requirements not outlined at the time in the areas I mentioned
  9. Mylark. You are wrong. I even discussed at that time with CGC rep ON THE PHONE.
  10. Where were you before I took this risk? Anyways, this is just a cautionary tale. As I said, I knew it was a risk. I won't fall for that again. Not worth the risk for anything high dollar is the point of the story.
  11. UPDATE: After receiving the issue back from CGC, I examined it and it did indeed have non-color-breaking, slight bends in a few spots along the spine that should be able to get corrected via a proper press. I don't recall actually seeing these on the original slab when I first received it via Ebay, but it's possible and since I didn't do my own high res scan at the time because I was excited to send it off for crossover, I can only say that it's unfortunate but I do agree with the 9.6. Hopefully this will serve as a cautionary tale to anyone considering crossover grading on high dollar comics. I recently acquired a CBCS graded 9.8 X-Men 120 off of ebay for $3400. I submitted it Express and awaited results. The issue looked as nice as all the other 9.8s I've seen that have been graded by CGC. So after waiting the express timeline, it still had no status change. I called and was informed you needed to write "EX" on the box to get it opened earlier. There was absolutely nothing on the website or in any of the documentation at that time to indicate that. I even walked through a brand new submission online, reading every last detail as I went while I was on the phone with the representative. Still nothing at all. I even emailed them the screenshots. I searched all over and could find nothing at all indicating that. The representative could not find anything either. They transferred me through to their manager's email and I left a detailed request to have that corrected.. I was further told that it was impossible for them to look for the shipment due to the 'thousands' of daily submissions. Almost 3 months later, the issue has finally been crossover graded. IT IS A CGC 9.6. NO GRADER NOTES. I called and asked what happened and if a pressing would help. NO GRADER NOTES, NO INDICATION. I knew it was a risk, but based on other comments on these boards, the odds were overwhelmingly indicative that crossover grades usually get same when going from CBCS to CGC. This is now a $2400 loss for me based on current resale value compared to the potential $3000 to $6000 gain in value that a same grade of 9.8 would have netted.
  12. Actually, I don't believe these were reprints of stories in the case of Wolverine 1988 series. Rahne of Terra, Knight of Terra, Doombringer and the like were all original stories. Most TPBs are reprints but these were not that I am aware of.
  13. Why were the Wolverine 1988 GRAPHIC ANNUALS removed from the set? I invested a ton of time and money into acquiring those to complete it as I am sure others in the top sets did as well. It is unfair to remove them when they have been included for years while leaving TPBs in other sets like the Valiant collections and many others. Can someone with CGC please answer this instead of ignoring my inquiry. It is a legit question. NOTE: I looked at some of the newer graded of these and CGC even listed 'Annual 1', 'Annual 2' etc on the various issues in question
  14. I have started the following penny auctions on ebay (there are also CGC graded Fat Freddy's Cat comics available for sale or offer: All Items Link!! ): https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909743149https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909746203https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909939072https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909945028https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909751099https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909930072https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909940921 Fat Freddy's Cat 1st Print: https://www.ebay.com/itm/333909830196
  15. Does anyone happen to know the owner? It is not Amnesiac according to him...when I was gonna buy it a number of years ago, they sold it right before I had the cash. I am interested in it because I have the complete set in 9.8 and wanted to cap it off with that one.
  16. What scanner software are you using and what settings? I took the plunge on an i800 because of your post and the fine scans but when I scan, it's still giving me the glare Epson 15000 Scanmaker i800
  17. My Epson 15k has the li ghb ht issue you are referring to. It really depends on the slab and probably more specifically the insert sleeve holding the comic. I noticed some of my recent Fat Freddy's Cat which are smaller comics have the good ol sleeve pressed against comic contact Newton Rings. These were submitted last year
