  1. Very nice! Break it out whenever you bring out the fine China!
  2. Very true, but I'm thinking nothing really noticeable in someone's collecting lifetime. Long term/conservation wise, I wholeheartedly agree. UPDATE: I did find an experiment someone did where it appears the UV glass didn't offer any kind of protection. It was from 2002 and I didn't see where they mentioned the brand. I may have to conduct my own experiment using some throwaway darker comic covers. Anyways, here's the link: http://www.ukiyoe-gallery.com/sunfade.htm and this is an interesting discussion on the subject: http://www.thegrumble.com/index.php?threads/uv-rays-glass-and-pompous-physics-majors.504/
  3. Well, some of the rooms people are posting have windows in them. Really, it wouldn't cost that much to put a layer of picture framing uv glass over the windows and/or create a uv "box" over a light fixture if it is truly a comic room. Then one could leave the lights on and the curtains pulled back all the time
  4. I sincerely hope everyone is using some sort of uv protection for their comics! If you have ever gone into restaurants and stores etc where people apparently like bluish green art.....that is light damage
  5. Just bought NYX 4 CGC 9.8 from Nick.....Best price around! Quick shipping!
  6. Thanks Joey, so do you think they enlarge them that much? The ones I've seen that graded 9.8 look like they have those marks too? I wish someone with a 9.8 would post the front and back as well so we could reference. I doubt I'd submit mine but was curious what to look for.
  7. Ok, here's an example of Wolverine #35 from the 1988 series. How do you think this would go for a CGC submission. It looks pretty good and I've noticed that 9.8s appear to have production flaws from what I can see. First 2 will be the 100% size captures and all the rest are 400% magnified close-ups so please keep that in mind:
  8. Seems like a long time to wait...30 days. On one of the comic buy/auction sites I recently purchased from, you have a 5 day wait. As a buyer, when I click on 'Buy' it sucks to have to wait 5 days for someone to respond to 'accept' your order. That pretty much ties up your money and may keep you from being able to buy another deal somewhere else. I can only imagine the impact to a seller having to wait 30 days. I wonder if maybe it would make sense to setup some kind of a timer function so if they haven't responded again or followed thru then you can relist etc...
