Pence print run of Captain Marvel Aventures
Bart Allen replied to AltonKroobe's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Pray tell, what issue is it? I assume it's the Captain Marvel Adventures run as opposed to Captain Marvel Jr? Both runs ended at #24, if I'm not mistaken (if that's what you were inquiring?) ~ Thanks, @Yorick :3 Ah, the print run? No clue ~ Well given that the early MM/YM run - suggestively, mind you, according to @EwanUK - was around 5,000 per issue ~ You don't see a lot of the CMA/CMJ comics around in relation to their American counterparts ~ -
Captain Marvel Jr #19 (UK): 1st mention of Marvelman Jr. (Young Marvelman) in text page. Otto Binder and Sid Lazarus stories. Mac Raboy cover.

I'll try and sort out these Dwayne McDuffie and Alan Moore signatures (hopefully) -
Yeah, I noticed such a thing when you brought the subject to attention with the difference in surface ~ Also, not sure whether this'll effect the books that are encapsulated (with Moore's signature): https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/12753/

Well another one has been listed on eBay: 164/400: https://www.ebay.com/itm/186349834743 But, alas, there isn't any curiosity as of late, though it'll change at some point - as, for the most part, the Miracleman/Marvelman is still rather underrated ~

Young Marvelman #31 #31; 7th appearance of Young Marvelman (Dicky Dauntless); story by Mick Anglo; art by George Parlett; and cover by Parlett ~

Previews v2 #12 (1992) Preview of Milestone DC. John Byrne writer. Originally distributed with poster attached to the inner-book featuring Milestone characters ~ -
Thanks, I realise that 2000 AD comics are difficult to judge at times
-
Unsure if that tear or writing will decrease the grade too much ~
-
I was wondering what grade do you think this is? Would this benefit from a clean and a press? Would that increase the grade? All comments are welcomed! Thanks!

First appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog?
Bart Allen replied to B-Smooth's topic in Modern Age Comic Books
Actually, in point of fact, the 1st appearance of Sonic and Doctor Robotnik was the manga contained in Mega Drive Fan of 1991 ~ The gaming magazine - which had the manga included within - had a cover date of July 1991, however, in Japan the release date is usually a month prior to the cover date; ergo, the manga predates both the North American and Japanese release dates of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game, and naturally also the Sonic the Hedgehog #1 from Fall 1991, too (outside of Rad Mobile and Puzzle Construction) ~ Link: https://archive.org/details/md_fan_199107_extra_2_sonic_story_comic_vol1/mode/2up -
This was first announced in 2015, so what an intriguing development, especially with the success of Netflix's One Piece I've always maintained the film - presuming it's the first of a trilogy - should focus on the Land of the Waves, the Chunin Exams and then ending with the Third Hokage's confrontation of Orochimaru ~ Also felt this news even more intriguing since CGC is currently looking for a Manga expert for grading Manga *fingers crossed on Japanese manga*

This Week in Your Bronze Age Collection!!
Bart Allen replied to TupennyConan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Aw, yeah, Amethyst of Gemworld She was recently apart of Justice League Dark, but I have a feeling she'll be included, at some point, by James Gunn in his films - given what he did ever so recently - so that may allow her to gain traction of sorts ~ -
This Week in Your Bronze Age Collection!!
Bart Allen replied to TupennyConan's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Rather rare to find such a lot like this, so I had to get it -- not to mention quite an underrated character, at that 1st appearance of Amethyst (Amy Winston), Dark Opal, Granch, Carnelian, Lord Amethyst, and Lady Amethyst ~ -
How popular are Manga in the US?
Bart Allen replied to Sof's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
Well the Japanese versions are the first editions; so I never got the appeal of collecting the English reprints ~ Dragon Ball #1 will never be as valuable as Shonen Jump #51 (1984) due to the fact it's rarer due to the print run and the fact a lot of Japanese manga is thrown away and not stored as American comics due to their size (and has a lot of cultural significance) -- a NM copy went for a little over $5k recently (but beware of the fake versions); we'll see much of a surge with Manga as CGC is currently looking for a manga expert ~ Here's my copy of Naruto's first appearance, for the sake of the thread:
