  1. It's already tucked away safely among some friends, so I have at least limited that possibility! Thanks for the info!
  2. Weirdly enough, I just bought a UXM 96 yesterday and didn't realize it only had one staple until I got home. It was the first time I had seen a comic that had only ever had one staple (only has the top, no indication there was ever a staple on bottom). I did some research and was still uneasy, so it makes me feel better to see this post and all the positive responses! Thanks all!
  3. I buy most 'variant covers' because I enjoy the art. Some people will buy a variant for the same reason I did. Some people will buy it because it's a 'limited variant'. Some people will buy it in hopes of flipping it or reselling it later. Why does everyone care how other people spend their money and for what reason. If people want to buy 'shill' items at inflated prices or if people want to create items and drive the price up, that's capitalism. Caveat Emptor. As a buyer you need to inform yourself on the product you're buying. I have payed WAY more for some books than I should have because I was ignorant to the market. It's part of living, learning and collecting. Please don't think that I endorse the 'pump n dump' across multiple websites, but this is the way that any market works. In some cases, I like the marketing so I am at least aware and can buy the product before the 'pump n dumpers' buy em all up and charge triple on ebay. Just an opinion, everyone has one!
  4. Thanks for the heads up on this! Glad I had a chance to snag one!
  5. Newsstand FTW! Picked this guy up for 75 cents today. It's probably an 8.5, but I'm happy to add it to my collection.
  6. It's not that it matters to me to have all the original bits, I bought it because I liked it! I found it in a secondhand dollar bin essentially so that's how I came across it without all the pieces. I'm happy to have the comic and the cover is amazing! Thanks for getting back to me!
  7. I just picked one of the TMNT 30th Anniversary IDW Limited Edition 'virgin' covers for 3 bucks today. After I researched it I realized that it originally came with a sketch card, and unfortunately my copy doesn't have it. Is this something that will effect the value of the book in a terrible way? Any and all info that you guys could provide would be amazing. Thanks in advance. Edit: Yes I realize this is the Copper Age forum, but I thought being the official TMNT thread you guys would still have the knowledge. If I need to put this in modern let me know.
  8. I posted this on the forum when I first bought it, I'm not sure if it is a one of a kind, but I've never seen another remender/young ss copy. Been thinking about selling or trading it, but I'm not sure if I want to just yet. I love the art so much.
  9. Buy one, get one free in the dollar bin. The 100 and the 17 are the two in the worst shape of course.
  10. I've been lucky enough to pick up three of these within the last week all for cover price or lower. Big kudos to these forums!
  11. Thanks to these very forums I was knowledgeable enough to pick these up out of the dollar bin ($3 each) along with some other weird stuff. The Enormous is flawless, however, the Adam needs a press. No complaints though!
