I'll stick with the toy store theme for #22. Transformers #22. First appearance of the Stunticons who merge into Menasor. Or... Alpha Flight #22 first Pink Pearl.

I believe MH's ebay listings tend to account for the codeword phrase for the "sale" prices on the main site. -

It's the #1 from Dreamwave's first mini series in 2002. Was a hot book for a couple months back in the day. Dreamwave had some decent concepts and art but the business side was a mess and Pat Lee essentially ran it into the ground. Hasbro pulled the license and granted it to IDW in 2005 or so to unfudge Dreamwave's bungling of the property. -
I've ordered a few times from Midtown and thought it was a bit of a crapshoot, but overall any issues I've had with them have been with their shipping/packing people. Customer service was good to me, though. MCS has been good. As others have stated, they tend to be a bit conservative with the grading. I don't think I've ever been disappointed when buying and sometimes get surprised like getting a 9.8 on a Canadian Price Variant that they sold me an a VF copy. So, I wouldn't be hesitant with MCS. Just do your due diligence with other vendors.

Transformers 1-80, Headmasters 1-4, Universe 1-4, The Movie 1-3, all G1 Dreamwave and G1 IDW series. GI Joe 1-155 + Special X-Men/Uncanny vol 1, X-Men vol 2, X-Factor vol 1, X-Force vol 1, New Mutants vol 1, Excalibur vol 1, Alpha Flight vol 1 Punisher vol 1 to whatever including the MAX series. I skipped the Frankencastle volume. Spider-Woman vol 1, Ms Marvel vol 1, Dazzler, The Thing vol 1, Human Torch, some of the newer Star Wars series + too many Marvel mini series from the 1980s and early 1990s. Some DC stuff too like Crisis on Infinite Earths and Kingdom Come. Currently working on a few other series like The 'Nam and some Canadian price variant runs of Uncanny and Transformers. Gives me something to do I guess.

Super cool @Parabellum. I have #1 and 2 but never finished the rest of it. I don't have any of the B&W covers but they look even better than the colored versions. I'm not big on signatures but Zeck's is great and I look forward to seeing one whenever you get it. -

Cubs fans are the worst and Old Style beer is swill. Have any serial numbers of the slabs been released so we can keep an eye out? -
Insight into the high prices for X men 107 ?
mec3437 replied to Bowenfire's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
My theory is that it's going up due to the speculation that the MCU is heading in a more cosmic direction so anything in that realm will go up. Also, the Mouse buying Fox brings the inevitable introduction of the X-Men and associated characters, factions, etc into the MCU. -

It feels so fresh too. I like Galaxies because it's similar to the old Spotlight series, but the main series is just kinda slow. 20+ issues and not much has been accomplished. '84 just feels right. #2 does come out next week and the A-cover looks super sexy. -
Great book @Jesse-Lee! Welcome to the forum!

I've been buying from GCC for over 10 years. They're good people who treated me great. That's terrible to see. -

Gotta say that I am digging Secrets & Lies so far. Simon Furman and Guido Guidi are doing it right. Some of the various covers. -

Took forever to find this one. Now, they're popping up out of the woodwork. Probably fell off the back of a truck. -
It's just a lazy- way to try and absolve themselves of the difficulty in grading something.

The pictures taken in the car with that yellowed old bag just scream professional to me. I trust that seller. I don't know why but I do.

Of which comic have you collected the most copies?

I did the same with the Star Wars relaunch in 2015. I can't believe I wasted money on all those variants. Mercifully I purged most from my possession. I only have a few of the #1 variants left (actively trying to unload them). I eventually just started listing them on ebay and took a big loss apart from a few that people actually wanted them. That went into my Lessons Learned journal. -

Thanks! I think 190 is Glorian's first appearance because it really is the only book I have in that issue range. 182 jumps to 190 which jumps to 223.
