  1. These are my requirements and rules for purchases. No HOS or Probies. Payment methods accepted are check, PayPal. Shipping for CGC graded books is $12 for a single slab U.S. shipping only!! Sorry, no international shipping. No returns on CGC graded books. First in the thread trumps any PM negotiations. Amazing Spider-Man 238 CGC 9.8 White pages Great centering. $2800
  2. They didn't print a version of the book. All they did was modify the existing book and sold it. Not really actionable imo.
  3. To me Doc Ock is by far a better villain/character than kingpin. 3 is what I would buy.
  4. Hey CGC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lean_Six_Sigma
  5. CGC now has time traveling powers. LOL even a casual reader can see that the date is older on what he got back. Amazing.
  6. I was always $500 away from getting a 9.6 but it kept edging away. Maybe one day.
  7. Not seeing it. If it’s on sometime I might check it out but nothing I am going out of my way for it especially as it spiked ASM prices so high I will never get the one I want lol.
  8. My OCD has always been an issue for me when buying books. Because what I like is also usually expensive I have had to narrow my collecting focus. I am ok with a little miss wrap IF it is even all the way down the spine and not angled. I hate spine ticks and almost always avoid them. I have some OW/W books but most are WP. When looking at a raw copy it needs to be NM or better and if graded 9.6 or better with white pages. 9.8 above 1979ish. Pressing doesn’t bother me as most of my books were so tight in the box they essentially are “pressed”. For graded I was putting together a direct/Newsie run of ASM 200-299 but Newsies are all the rage and more $ than I am willing to shell out so I may give that up.
  9. I say hack away. Your book do what you want with it. Don’t worry the market will be unaffected by it.
  10. When buying raw I am ok with OW/W pages but when it is looking me in the face on the slab I just want that W designation.
  11. I think it is just miscut. Here is my copy for comparison.
  12. 9.8 white pages is what I look for. I have most of the hard ones out of the way but when someone is asking >$500 for a run of the mill Rose appearance I know I’m in trouble lol. So yes, just a money issue.
  13. All I know is I had to give up on completing my ASM 200-299 Newsstand run. I got about 50% done before this recent craziness kicked in. *sigh*
  14. Some of those kickstarter’s have tiny print runs. Imagine an umbrella academy type of book get a tv show or something and there are only hundreds of a book.
  15. Nah, just keep it in a Mylite2 with a full back an just enjoy it. I have a similar story with my mom. She would drive me all over Illinois to little conventions in the early 80’s. At one hotel con we were in the car about to leave when she asked me if I got everything I wanted. She must have seen me staring at this Marvel Team-up 1. I said I wanted it but I didn’t have the $10. She gave me a ten and said “Go get it”. Good stuff.
  16. I understand it. Comic collectors prefer unslabbed books. There is a reason it is referred to as a slab. Like a morgue slab. Because it is entombed. This grading works better for cards because you can see both sides. A comic collector may want a high grade book but also may want to hold it, look at it etc. Let’s say I buy a CGC 9.2 ASM #3 that was slabbed yesterday. It made it almost 60 years in a high grade. Collectors know how to handle their books.
