  1. Just a quick update on this submission. As I had noted previously on these boards, for the most part I've been pleased with CCS pressing, except for my last submission received back in June. That being said, I carefully inspected each of the 21 books not receiving a 9.8 grade and was pleased with the pressing effort. I would say half the books receiving lower grades were wishful thinking on my part, since they clearly had some color breaking creases. The other 10 were either due to tough grading by CGC or something I missed (e.g. light fingerprints or interior cover defects). All in all I thought CCS pressing was good and CGC grading was fair, but somewhat tight. I also wanted to add that I got grader notes for the 2 - 9.0 books I received, but nothing for the 6 or 7 9.2/9.4's. Getting the grader notes would be really beneficial to see what I missed.
  2. They actually didn't go into CCS in process. They were marked as received on 4/11 and stayed that way until scheduled for grading on 2/4. My credit card was charged by CCS on 1/6.
  3. 2 of my 4/11 CCS received submissions have now shipped. One is still in G/E/I and the other one is still with CCS. I was hoping for 80% of the 50 books to come back as 9.8's, but only 60% got that grade. Oh well.
  4. I know this is blasphemy on the GA boards, but this is still my favorite book.
  5. My 10/14 received moderns just went into G/E/I.
  6. Honestly, I think it has more to do with the specific graders (or time of year) than which presser you used. I've had CCS submissions that have been extremely inconsistent from month to month as well. For example, I got back one 16 book CCS submission where I was expecting 9 - 9.8's and 7 - 9.6's, but came back as 15 - 9.8's and 1 - 9.6. A few months later, I got back a submission with 10 - 9.8's and 15 - 9.4 / 9.6's, and was expecting 18 or 19 9.8's.
  7. Unfortunately, G/E/I is nothing to jump out of bed for these days.
  8. Hope you had the 2 books fully insured just in case.
  9. That's very odd. Is it possible that 2 the books graded higher than expected and CGC will contact you soon about moving them to Standard or Walkthru service?
  10. Two more of my four 4/11 CCS received submissions just went into SFG. I have one more left at CCS from that submission.
  11. That's pretty impressive. It usually takes me a full year to sell everything from a single submission.
  12. The one submission just moved to Grading/Encapsulation. CGC also just charged my credit card.
  13. I've missed greggy's updates. His posts always tell me how much longer I need to wait for my books.
  14. Yup, for what remains of my golden age collection, I tell my wife to contact Vincent at Metro to auction the books if anything happens to me.
  15. One of my 4 slow modern submissions received by CCS on 4/11 just went into SFG. Finally some movement.
  16. I currently have about 40 submissions sitting at CGC, CCS or 3rd party pressers. Doubt if I'll have anything back within the next 2 months.
