I'm no census jockey, but just based on memory, I don't recall seeing many Star books grade 8.0 and higher. I was expecting that at this price, the 6.0 would be the highest graded copy, but there's a 7.5 out there and two 5.0 copies below it. More graded copies of this issue than I would have predicted. Price seems pretty high. I wonder if this issue is an outlier, or Cole's romance books are really strong now.

Strong price on the Horrors #13, but of course, very high grade. I have always considered that a sleeper book. I love the cover. Cole didn't do a lot of "gothic horror" type covers like this one. Perhaps Horrors #13 will start getting recognition.
As you said, the Power #4 looks like a really good deal.
That's not a bad price for the STT #11. It's a tougher book above 4.0. I like the cover to #12, but when you compare the prices between #11 (5.0) and #12 (7.5), it makes #11 look like a deal.
Suspense #11 has lagged behind, especially when compared to its devil brethren Mask #2. I think that the bright yellow cover might be holding it back.
WOW on the True To Life Romances. Very solid price. I'm not aware of how scarce that book is, but I don't recall seeing it often.

I wish I could see that double cover book. Like you said, strange that both covers are 1.5. Hopefully the buyer doesn't pull the outer one off and put it on a coverless copy. That's probably the only double-cover copy of that book in existence.

I've walked away from things I really wanted many times due to dealer personality or the feeling I was being jerked around. Even when it takes too long to close a deal, my interest wanes and I move on and forget about it. I don't like to buy things that make me think of that person. It's always better to have a good interaction, everyone's happy, and you have good memories of buying it.

I believe the sale was legit and as pictured. I remember this seller -- they put up a ton of 1940s/50s GA with BINs, some were more-or-less market price but a handful were way too cheap like this one. The vibe was definitely someone who didn't know what they had and skimmed current pricing somewhere (so e.g. they knew the GA Captain Americas were big money but they wouldn't know an oddball LB Cole). They listed most of the best stuff first, then worked their way down to pretty rough condition and coverless books.
Strange way to sell books. Not saying they should be slabbed, but good descriptions don't cost anything.

Well, the description is odd...
Good Cond. nice solid copy, cover 2in split spine top, little chipping , Complete Copy, (see picture) (see picture) (see picture) (see picture) (see picture) (see picture) (see picture) Priority Mail, PAYPAL accepted.
PICTURE of COVER is for REFERNCE only but includedI did notice that... one reason why I'm wondering if someone here bought it and can provide details. Possibly this seller stole a photo of an existing copy owned by someone on the Boards.

In May of 2018, the Edgar Church copy of Millie the Model #9 sold for $8,962.50. A few months later, Ken Bald autographed it. In November, 2021 the book resold for $2,640.00.
A drop of $6,322.50.
This is as stupid as it gets.

I would tend to agree with you here, but I also believe that the Suspense 8 in grade also has a lot of room to move up, especially since there's only one copy graded above 7.5 (i.e. the Promise copy in CGC 9.2) after two plus long decades of certification.
I've seen a number of Suspense 8 copies with spine issues. Perhaps it's the same with other books in the run, but I couldn't say. But with 8, seems to definitely be the case.

We are planning on offering a service for the grading of published art in the future, though currently there is no set time frame for this service.
I wouldn't waste your time with that.
