  1. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1652845 I've recently sold all my Batman artwork with the exception of Batman #1 — and this piece. I am marking this LOW ($4K USD) with the caveat that full payment is required by tomorrow (Friday, July 31st) as I need the funds, thus the steep discount. For reference, the Grim Knight one-shot cover sold instantly for 8K on Splash Page. I would throw this on auction, but I need the funds in my account tomorrow. — Info: Final cover of BATMAN WHO LAUGHS. Cleverly mirrors the first cover's design, playing off the story's conclusion. Also used as the back-cover to the hardcover, as seen in Additional Images. — 11x17" pencil and ink. Published by DC Comics in July 2019. Social/Sharing

  5. Raising funds for a big piece. Various covers and splashes posted for sale, priced to move. Message me for any NFS pieces. FS gallery here: https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=174104
  6. To clarify, is this exclusive to pieces we've acquired in 2018?
  7. I don’t think the comment had malicious intent. I also don’t think a comment should affect how you use CAF or appreciate your art. To answer your question, if from an auction house, right away as you did it is fine, to me. If a transaction with someone else, once in hand is probably best. I’ve had multiple people back out on pieces I’ve paid for in full, have signed up for timed payments on, they have committed to buy or even put a deposit on. I find the people in this hobby generally nice, but I’ve also had my fair share of bad apples. Twice this year I’ve sold pieces to cover new ones CAFers have promised to me, only for them to change their mind despite their promises and guarantees. Not the best!
  8. CAF FS gallery available here: https://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=174104 — GONE - Batman: HUSH / Huntress, Batman / Issue 609, Page 9 by Jim Lee & Scott Williams — Jason Fabok - Detective Comics #13 Cover (Batman, Penguin, 1st Appearance Emperor Blackgate) $2750 USD + Shipping. Timed payments spanning a few months available. 11x17 pencil and ink on two boards. First appearance of Emperor Blackgate (Ignatius Ogilvy). Jason's first-ever Detective cover. The published cover is the pencils with digital inks; the inks below are commissioned on a separate board by Jonathan Glapion. Jason's covers are typically ~8K nowadays and are ink on digital pencils. This is a rare piece in that it includes Jason's original pencils. Per his commentary, I expect his prices to go up further with the release of Three Jokers. — Batman Vs. Superman (Flash #50 Variant Cover) by Duncan Fegredo $2000 USD + Shipping. Timed payments spanning a few months available. 11x17" inkwash; spectacular in person. Published as Flash #50 Variant cover. — Ryan Ottley - Invincible #144 Cover - FINAL ISSUE $4250 USD + Shipping. Timed payments spanning a few months available. 11x17" Being turned into a TV series. Primary cover to FINAL issue.
  9. I’ve already hit two of my 2019 goals, and will take delivery of those in 2019. The first is a series of covers while the other is a piece from my favourite artist. The remaining goal would be a Curse of the White Knight cover, I suppose. Outside of acquisitions, trimming the fat.
  10. Both eBay and PayPal are riddled with scams which almost always side with the scammer. Yuck. Not a fan of auctions personally. CAF messaging for the win.
  11. You guys know museum glass and placement out of [direct] sunlight and you’re good, right? Art isn’t gonna fade to a degree you’ll notice in your lifetime unless it was done in Sharpies. If you’re really cautious you can put a frosted vinyl over your windows to further protect against UVs, but it’s unnecessary in my opinion. Seems there’s a lot of needless paranoia that takes away from enjoying the art. Reminds me of buying comics not to read them, but to store them in a coffin of Mylar, never to see the light of day.
  12. I find it best not to look at the art directly in case it bursts into flames.
  13. Yeah, I’d like to know as well. IMO, his art is reminiscent of an art school student trying to make it. So this is particularly baffling.
  14. Not original art, a print. In my opinion, a waste of money, but to each his own. Outside of discussions like this, posts about these prints do not belong in this forum or on CAF as it is an entirely different hobby. There’s some people on CAF who post prints, people don’t realize, and they get flooded with comments about what a great piece it is. Lol.
  15. Wow, congrats! Looks GREAT! Good on for you bringing back the piece to it's original, Donnelly-less state lol! Gem!
  16. ^Agreed. I was going to bid on the Riddler Dark Victory cover until I inquired with Heritage and learned the stats were permanently affixed directly to the art, which wasn't listed in the description until I e-mailed them. I know the previous owner who traded two Dark Victory covers to the Donnellys for a Tim Sale Captain America: White splash (and he covered shipping both ways), and the art did not have stats with him. Doesn't matter how much I like a piece, I do not wish to own any Donnelly's collaboration of artwork in which they have effectively burned the piece for me through irreversible [and significant] modification. Any auction I see stats on, I will pause and inquire.
  17. Surprised a number of you are keen on hanging reproductions or artist edition clippings, whether for reasons of safekeeping or accessibility. For me, once I first got into originals it almost felt like a step back to collect prints. If I’m going to delegate wall space, the original will get it every time, with the exception being where we host guests, which is instead James Jean giclees. That said, I understand it from an art appreciation standpoint. I picked up my first artist edition in DKR and it’s very cool to look at. Very cool...would love to see a photo of that. If you’re not comfortable posting publicly, could you PM me? By the way, museum glass will protect your art from sunlight. Agreed. As shared above, it’s too easy for the average person to mistake a repro for the real thing. This is why I buy primarily direct from artist/rep or well-known CAFers. It is far too easy to create a beautiful giclee repro (while I would never do it, I know exactly how and it’s minimal effort.)
