  1. Bump Trying to get the trifecta in 8.5
  2. Looking between an 8.5 to a 9.2. Ready to buy. Thanks! AJ
  3. Anytime I see a comic book for sale on eBay sitting on a Carrara marble countertop I run.
  4. OK that story is pure magic! Thanks so much for sharing and taking me on that trip with you through the day itself and the full adventure. It looks and feels like you are having a great journey my friend!
  5. Just picked up my SC4! It has been a dream for a long time and this recent correction helped me pull the trigger. If it corrects further so be it, but this is definitely a long hold for me so I’m not too worried. 👍🏻
  6. Sorry about the glare but here is my wall. i need to get a better clearer picture put together.
  7. Book is back! It did drop a half a point to a 3.5 in an OW after the cross grade but still extremely happy with just getting it back and in a CGC case. Nothing presents better than CGC. Not even close. 😉
  8. If you are here to enjoy a passion and a love you have had as a kid and are now an adult that can afford the pie in the sky dreams we had when we were young, I say enjoy the ride. If I ever told myself as a 10 year old child that I would own a good number of these magical and truly rare items that are even older than I am, and was able to share them with my children I would have lost my mind. I just won an auction on a book that I thought had escaped me years ago. Did I buy at the bottom? Perhaps not, but it was bright, it was clean, it was rare (only 27 in current grade) and my son lovessss the character. So I jumped on a Showcase 4 in a 3.5 so we can share and enjoy something truly special together. Comics will ebb and flow like all other investments but what investment turns men into giddy children when it touches our hands? Nothing else. I don’t need 5% or 10% year after year returns on my collection. They give me a huge amount of joy and I’m sure the bottom will not ever truly fall out. And if it does I may buy some more. 😉 Happy collecting my friends!
  9. Pretty much all of them were good deals. 3.0 at 14750 3.5 at 17100 4.0 at 20222 5.0 at 31500
  10. As everyone is using this thread to bash my beloved AF15 I thought I would use it for a positive spin. I am trying to pick up a 3.0 for my brother and just lost out tonight to the one on Comiclink that closed at $14,750. So bummed. If anyone has a 3.0 lead I would love to help him get one to match the one I got from Bunky here on the forum. Thanks for your help! Here is a pic of the one I just missed. AJ

  12. Thanks so much everyone. Now the real question is do I break it out of its case before I send it in to CGC? I just have this feeling that CGC will see the case and grade and automatically bump it down half a point. Am I being paranoid?
  13. Ok so I finally found my book! Unfortunately it is wrapped in the wrong plastic. It was graded by the other company as a 4.0. My question is after seeing the photos and notes would you agree? When I send it in to be re-slabbed would you have it pressed and cleaned hoping CCS and CGC feels like their work brought it to a 4.0? Obviously if it stays a 4.0 I will be over the moon but am open as always to everyone’s thoughts and suggestions. Happy Monday!
  14. I would much rather sink the money into getting it back to a blue label. A couple holes are fine especially since it is along the edge. I’m super partial to blue label but to each their own and I think the cost to do the work would be significantly cheaper than a full restoration and a good shot that the book would be worth more at a lower grade blue. Good luck!
