  1. Strangely the current TMNT 9.8 @ HA is $28K ($33.46K w/ BP). Odd.
  2. Yeah I believe I saw the same post but the prospective buyer really meant it when they said "CGC 6.5 or better" Not much I can do about my book... it is what it is.
  3. Payment for these comics are via PayPal or bank wire transfer. Payment notification is expected within 3 days of agreed on agreed purchase. I will be responsible for shipping. I typically ship via USPS registered mail. Returns are accepted on a case by case basis. If this scenario happens, the buyer will pay for shipping and handling. I am open for trades and other negotiations. Detective Comics #168 CGC 4.5 (OW-W), SOLD Showcase #22 CGC 6.0(OW), $7250
  4. Not so fast. The buyer couldn't actually afford it. They tried to make the purchase with PayPal credit. Rejected. Big mistake on their part. I don't understand the mentality of people who make these huge purchases but don't have sufficient funds. Take care of your finances first. I don't consider buying anything unless I know I've taken care of my SEP-IRA for the year, have six months cash on hand for emergencies, etc. Please be responsible people. /endrant
  5. I never once got a message on eBay saying that I was out of my effing mind for requesting something near five digits. I did get a few messages asking me to come down to earth about my initial BIN for $12,500. At first, I was just testing the waters to see if anyone would even snag this comic at this ridiculous price. $12.5K is ridiculous. $9K isn't? I think that the price will remain at least in the $8K range for the time being. If people see this price and start to get an itch to sell... I might very well have another copy again for a lot less than what I paid for mine. Orrrrrrr we might see the rise of a $10K modern book.
  6. Seven people approached me with offers north of $7.5K. What's funny is... all it takes are two people who really want something to drive the price up. Maybe the book has lost value now that the top dog is out of the picture?
  7. You pretty much cherry picked the convo to your liking, WD. I gave you plenty of time to get back to me. I'm sorry real life happened. You hurled some pretty strong responses my way as if I'm a professional retail salesman -- and which I'm not. I believe I'm a stand up guy and I've never done anyone wrong regarding a sale of a book here or on eBay -- I guess until I virtually met you.
  8. I am out of the small and illustrious ASM 667 club, but I'm $9,000 richer... who was saying that this wouldn't sell? You wouldn't believe how many emails I received. You also wouldn't believe how many offers north of $7.5K I received. I am sure I will regret selling it. To anyone who says that it is "absurd" that a modern can fetch this much... here's a warm glass of STFU. Thanks
  9. I put a max bid of $2,000 on the ASM 678. I tried to snipe it with <10 secs but that obviously didn't last long. That was the most I was willing to part ways with. I had previously purchased an ASM 678 raw for $1,100 on eBay and got it graded at 9.8 and then re-sold it for 3X what I originally paid for it. Maybe I'll be super lucky and get a "second chance offer" Anyway, $2K+ is most definitely A LOT to pay for a raw copy of a variant. However, I'm not the only crazy person willing to do it...
