  1. I heard there was a bit of a dust-up between an artist and a promoter from another show. I don't know the details, just a general story. I haven't been to this show is a few years, but I can't say I ever had a bad time there. I think April or May would be better, weather wise. The nice thing is that you are a block walk from 2 dozen food spots.
  2. Western Mass, just east of Springfield...the blowing and drifting make it seem worse but I don't think we're going to get much more than 14 inches. It is supposed to be mostly over at about 9pm. Should be going skiing Thursday so I can't complain too much.
  3. For a more permanent type setup, this is a cool idea -
  4. Ouch...just, ouch. That is hard to unsee.
  5. This is the other name that comes to mind for me. He was a big Batman contributor when I got back into reading. Very hard to look at, but I know some people loved his style. I could have dealt with it for an arc or two, but every month...it was tough. I like my Batman in the Graham Nolan style.
  6. I understand that if the art always looked the same that it would be like the Simpsons, but there needs to be some defined outer edges to the individuality I think. Some titles lend themselves to different styles, and while I wouldn't want Tommy Castillo drawing Spiderman, he could do a good job with a Scarecrow arc in a Batman book. But for a while it seemed like they couldn't wait to find the next newest style and just kept throwing weird stuff out there in mainstream books.
  7. Was this show related in any way to the Primate Promotions Boston shows? They ended maybe 5 or so years ago and also used to have a record/music sales component. It was at a hotel in Boston a few times a year, but I forgot the name.
  8. Stuff like that I wouldn't accept. Total bs. I would message him and tell him to pay or it's an unpaid bidder claim would be opened. See what his response is.
  9. Yeah, I can't do that without some time first. I keep thinking the money is going to pop up in my PayPal account. I am going to give it a few more days.
  10. I am going through a non-paying winner right now. It has been almost a week since the auction ended on a $140 slab and I have messaged him several times with no response. He is an active seller currently on eBay so it vexes me a little that he didn't know what he was doing or didn't want the item. It was a best offer situation so I don't understand what is going on. I guess I'll have to wait another week before filing a non-paying bidder claim. This will be my first issue with a sale in 10 years of eBay selling.
  11. There was a big update to the website recently. Quality artists and writers added. This is shaping up to be another great show.

  16. She is very understanding regarding my hobby. She would rather have me do this than boozing it away. But when new packages arrive, it's always "MORE STUFF?"
  17. On the back of the frames, I have screwed in a small plastic wire/cable retainer. It clips over the "bar" of the gridwall section. I had tried several ways of attaching to the angled ceiling but this has worked out the best...but the gridwall is not cheap. I have found some deals on it, and I think it adds to the look. Did you see the figures at the FYE store? I saw a Batman and a Deadpool there. They were of a foam-ish construction and about $1000(?) I think. Very detailed.
  18. Thanks. It was the only Spidey I know of that still had its fingers. They were displayed around the time that the first Tobey Maguire Spiderman movie hit the video store. They were raffled off after and a friend won it and we made a deal.
  19. Nice. If I ever started collecting statues, I would go bankrupt! Just waaaaaaay too many cool ones to pick from.
  20. I used to have trouble finding room for my stuff. Then we moved to a bigger place and then the kids moved out. Woo hoo, not more room, but more rooms. This is my main toy room. Comic figs on the right, Simpsons on the left, and misc all around. The Simpsons figure wall setup is a custom by me...like a poster display. Comic room - youngest son's ex-room. Life sized Spidey from Blockbuster! On the music stand is a portfolio of original Star Trek prelim art for plates, bookcovers, etc.
