  1. @Ron C. What does the back cover look like on the "faded" copy?
  2. What do the grader notes say Slym? Did you get them when it was first submitted? It’s definitely possible the grade is correct and the flaws are on the interior.
  3. How long ago were they submitted, and what were the grades? They don't do notes on all comics, especially the higher grades. 9.6s for example. I'm pretty sure that the notes go on the system as soon as the grades are posted, so if the notes are not available, I would imagine they weren't done for the books in question. There would be others here more knowledgable than me about this, so hopefully they'll chime in with better info. Calling them wouldn't hurt, but they may just tell you there are no notes.
  4. Grader notes are free for your own submissions. There's a fee of $5 if you want to see the notes for comics you didn't personally submit. See link below: https://www.cgccomics.com/comic-grading/cgc-grader-notes/
  5. For an evil mastermind, Palpatine is incredibly stupid. You would have thought after his run-in with Mace Windu, he would have learned to simply stop shooting force lightning when it’s being deflected back at him
  6. That's fair enough, perhaps I misinterpreted your post. Just felt it strayed a bit into the "personal belief" realm and therefore off topic. Reading back I understand how it ended up where it did though. I agree with you here, as long as we're mindful of keeping it related to the film. No harm done, and my apologies for singling out your post.
  7. I'd like to kindly request that we not discuss religion on here please. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions on the matter, but it's a slippery slope. If we are allowed to make posts such as the above, then they should also be open to being challenged. That's a problem however, because challenging beliefs that are as deep seated as religion, no matter how ridiculous they are (virgin births, rising from the dead), is often taken as a personal affront. Maybe we should stick to Star Wars.
  8. This movie failed on so many levels for me, but let's start with the good: It was visually appealing. It was fairly well acted. It may have been good to a casual Star Wars fan. Now the bad, and yes, I realise some of this is nitpicking. The opening crawl. Palpatine's reveal relegated to a sentence. "Guess what guys? He's back." Ok fine, how? Why? And not only is he back, but he's broadcasting his presence to the whole galaxy. Why would he do that? Just stupid IMO. It seemed obvious to me that the Emperor was never meant to appear in this trilogy and added in last minute. The Sith way finder McGuffins The Emperor had a son - why was he never mentioned before? Why was he not powerful in the force? Why was he even needed in the first place. Palps could have just created Rey like it's implied he did with Anakin. The editing and cuts are obvious. Who was the slug looking guy (Claude?) fixing the falcon? Why was he only shown once with no explanation? The scenes with Leia were forced. They built them around the footage they had (obviously) but they didn't fit well and seemed out of place. The scene at the end with Lando and what was at one point rumoured to be his daughter. Their dialogue made no sense and was creepy as a result. Retroactively making Leia very powerful in the force. All the sudden light speed skipping is a thing. Force healing. Why was this never shown in the OT or the PT? It could have changed so much if it was. Who taught Rey how to do it? Who taught Ben how to do it? Why couldn't anyone else ever do it? Discrepancies for the sake of fan service. All the sudden Luke says that a lightsaber needs to be treated with respect despite what he did in episode 8. Rose is all the sudden a background character. Yeah, I didn't like her but still, it's inconsistent. More planet killing weapons. What happened to Luke's green lightsaber? We see it in flashbacks in this trilogy but never in real time, and it's never explained what happened to it. Ships that are old as shít just fire right up and work. Luke's X-wing and that one that dropped off Rey. The whole thing felt forced, sloppy and thrown together last minute.
  9. You wouldn't happen to have an affordable one of these, would you? https://entertainment.ha.com/itm/entertainment-and-music/grateful-dead-1966-skeleton-andamp-roses-concert-poster-fd-26-graded-near-perfect-98/a/7203-89199.s?ic4=GalleryView-ShortDescription-071515 (Sorry for the krap)
  10. That's what makes the Fermi paradox so intriguing. It makes me think there may be some validity to Nick Bostrom's vulnerable world hypothesis.
  11. Saw it today. Didn't like it. Glad the sequel trilogy is over.
  12. Except for when he was going to murder his nephew in his sleep.
  13. I'm not so sure. At the end of Revenge of the Sith all he did was cry and whine.
  14. But where would you place it on the terrible - horrible continuum?
  15. Hey guys Long time thread lurker, but have a question I'm hoping someone here can help with. I'm looking for a cover gallery or checklist of some sort for the "Quarter Books" novels and am having a hard time. All my searches get overwhelmed with those books for collecting numismatic quarters Even if I add key words like "paperback", "romance" and "sleaze", I still end up with a bunch of junk results. Are there any good online resources for Quarter Books, and vintage paperbacks of this sort in general. Any help is appreciated!
  16. If it sets a new record, it'll be definitive proof that value is continuing to rise. If it doesn't, it'll be definitive proof that only the miswrap kept if from reaching its full potential.
  17. A huge thank you to @DR.X for some great craic! We appreciate your effort and generosity go raibh maith agat!
