  1. Just skimming the thread for the first time, and I must say, I agree with Metal and Web-Crawler. You seem like a lost cause, but I'll give some advice anyway, because you remind me of myself at your age. Lazy. 1. Sell your remaining comics and put the money aside, or at the very least, don't plan on buying any books until you get your mess together. 2. Give up gaming completely for the foreseeable future. Spend every minute you would be playing video games looking for a job. There are 168 hours in a week, you work 25, that leaves 143. I'm assuming you sleep about 10 hours a day, that leaves 73 hours awake and not working. 5 hours a week out of 73 available is not nearly enough time spent searching for work. 3. Sleep 6-7 hours a night, your body gets used to it, trust me. 4. Consider going back to community college or taking night courses, there's only so far you can get without a degree. Some people become very successful without one, but they work very hard and are extremely driven. You don't and you're not. 5. This is based mostly on my own past, and may not apply, but if you smoke weed, stop. 6. Work your off and save money. Once you're in a good place, consider adding things back into your life such as occasional video games and flipping books. I know this sounds harsh, but it's life. I wasted my time after high school hanging around, sleeping all day, not working enough, and barely scraping by in community college. Next thing you knew I was 25 still living with my parents and miserable. I made the decision to join the Coast Guard, and it was the best decision I ever made. It gave me a stable career and the discipline I was lacking. I did my 4 years and used the G.I. Bill to finish college on their dime. I moved to Ireland only to learn that there are no entry level jobs for someone with a Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, and having U.S. military service on my C.V. doesn't mean or give you a leg up like it can in the States. What am I doing now? I work in a call center making €22,000 a year and am working on a masters at night. Do I enjoy my work? hell no, does it pay well? absolutely not, but its all I can get at the moment so I work hard and have a good attitude about it. Maybe I can progress with my current company or maybe I'll find something better when my masters is done, but you get out what you put in. If you're not happy with your current situation, do something about it. Don't play video games, catch up on sleep, and whine about it on a comic book forum. Get your mess together while you're still young enough so you don't end up wishing you did things differently the first time around like I sometimes do.
  2. Thanks to Dre for an excellent transaction. Bought some SDCC exclusives, was invoiced promptly, books shipped very quickly. Arrived as described extremely well packaged. All in all a perfect transaction! Thanks again
  3. That could be it, the link I posted above says International sales are 3.9% transaction fee plus a fixed fee based on currency received.
  4. Nope. Sales within the U.S are 2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-fees
  5. Yeah, it's not the same book. I was going off of the earlier posts by PJK, MetalPSI and yourself. My mistake for only looking at the grade on the label and taking the say of a few boardies with high post counts, instead of looking closer at the two scans. Ah, so you put your foot firmly in your mouth (again), but it's other people's fault. It also happens that some boardies that you so gracefully shifted the blame to happen to be the ones that call you on your constant b.s. and "stating opinion and speculation as fact" posting style.
  6. Love both of 'em, especially that old label All Winners. If that is now an "old label" book what is the former "old label" now called? I like 1st generation, 2nd gen, etc
  7. Bought a book from BIGS and it arrived lightning fast, well packaged and as described. Communication was excellent and certainly made my first board transaction a pleasant one. I would certainly do business again.
  8. For anyone who has done business with me and were pleased with the transaction and/or communication

    Gotham

Such a shame, she is actually unwatchable in that role.
  10. I agree on both accounts! I dig it, but it definitely has a creepy element too.
  11. Wouter Tulp cover of Donald Duck 12 for art appreciation month.
  12. I very highly doubt they will outline Sussanah's life much in the series. Or if they use a white actress, perhaps her travels will be perceived to be less polarizing? It's hard to say, but her whole multiple personality thing played a fairly big part in the plot, and they'd have to explain that somehow. I would hope they didn't spend too much time on it, I never liked that part of the story, and her "Detta" personality was annoying, IMO.
  13. Well, Roland was white and they have Idris Elba playing him. I see your point though, Susannah's ethnicity, upbringing, and what she experienced because of these was integral to her character in a way that Roland's wasn't.
  14. That's an amazing cover, and the condition of the book is equally impressive!
  15. That would be murderers row of holy grails for me. Me too, unfortunately this will be the closest I get
  16. I agree 100%. I like this one, but in general, they leave something to be desired. I am really enjoying the stories though!
  17. It's a modern, but I dig this cover, and it fits into a fishing subset I'm working on...
  18. Hello all, I'm Ryan. I've been reading the boards for quite some time and decided to jump in. I started reading/ collecting around the age of 10 in 1990, mostly Marvel superhero titles then. I moved to Ireland 3 years ago, and ironically, what got me back into collecting was selling my entire collection. It was residing in my parents home in Texas, and while I was not forced or asked directly to sell them, it was indirectly implied. I thought that I had lost the bug, so I took them down to an LCS on my last visit home and parted with them for significantly less than they were worth. I instantly regretted it. Needless to say, the bug has bitten again, and I am now starting anew. My interests are quite varied, but include; Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge (especially Carl Barks), Silver/Bronze/Copper superhero, and modern Batman. Thanks for having me!
  19. A few Famous First Edition reprints for reading/ display purposes: Now if only I can find mylars to fit these giants.
  20. Hi Rick, What do you see happening to the market and prices for GA books as the population ages and, for lack of a better word, "exits" the hobby? Is there much interest in this era as a whole with younger collectors, or is the outcome going to vary greatly based on character/ title? Thanks, Ryan
  21. You sure know how to bribe an Irishman I thought the Irish drank it warm Old wives tale... the colder the better. Check my location!
