Wow! Story? Just a local online post about comics. I asked if he had any pictures and he sends me a group shot with Hulk 181 BA 12 and NM 98. Immediately got in my car and went to check them out. I see a guy pulling out as I pull up. He just purchased the Hulk 180 and 181, 2 copies of WWBN 32 in high grade, BA 12 in high grade ,Hawkman 4, and Tomb of Dracula 10. He had a VG sticker on the BA12 I purchased and its probably around a 7.5 copy. He stated the hulk 181 was a VG/F copy and he just sold it for $700 along with the other books.. Still happy with what I found. Great stuff at great prices.. You must live near the garden of eden, amazing haul

That was only an advertisement for TMNT 1. If ads are considered 1st appearances, then a book like DeadWorld 10 would be Crows 1st app.? See how silly that sounds. Not silly if you bought a raw for $10 and it graded CGC 9.6. I forgot the boadie's name who hesistated on that eBay deal? Hey what can I say Overstreet states Gobbledygook #1 a their 1st appearance so I take that as been what it is. As mentioned CGC will not grade this book only PGX would. Overstreet can say what ever they want, ads are not first appearances.

So what would be considered their first appearance?

I think the reason prices are so high on 9.8 news stand books as opposed to direct sale books is becuase it was sitting in a store where every kid would grab them and look at them whereas in a comic shop most people who touch the wall books buy them. This makes it much harder to get 9.8 off the news stand.

Found this at a used bookstore for 2$ last week. Probably an 8.5 unfortunately.

I'm a pretty big TWD fan and collector, and definitely support this books prestige, but the cover has never really appealed to me. Oddly enough, #2 seems to catch my eye more. I think #4 and #9 are the best from the first 10. My personal favorite ..... 19 ...... I consider that one a classic. I loved the show and decided to pick up a few odd issues for inventory, and ended up just keeping them ...... some of the covers I really like..... 69, 100, 108...... I used to not "get it" in regards to the comics..... but I do now. Within minutes of reading the first issue I just fell in love with the art and story.

Actually lasted three seasons, but it's still a good point. I still think it is way too early to compare Walking Dead to Star Trek. Have you seen the cover of walking dead #1? Does this look like the cover of something that will die off? My copy for reference

People were probably saying the same thing about star trek back in the day. Walking dead has become a significant part of pop culture at this point. Yes the show made it more popular then ever before but because of its popularity there will always be fans out there who are looking to collect back issues. I would even argue that if the story continues to get better and better even more people will be ready to throw there money towards back issues. Considering the fact that the population of people increases where the 7,200 copies or so of WD #1 stays the same there will defiantly be an increase of price over time. Unless there is an economic collapse or Kirkman losses his mind and we all find out that the whole story was just a dream in little Rickys head the series will remain strong IMHO. Lastly while many people sell there books there are also collectors, like myself who have WD #1 in 9.8 who will not sell it unless I am starving on the street so there will be less for sale as time goes on. I know of 6 people who will never sell it either. With all that said its safe to say that the walking dead series is fine.

Thanks for the compliment but it's a reprint. \ Still a beautiful room, I was wondering why it was such a beautiful perfect copy. kind of had me in shock for a bit.
