  1. ^ since point is probably to predict what cgc might give it, I'd agree w/what grendelbo and 50's war comics said: that good chance it ends inside a 3.0 case. So ignore the G/G+ guesstimate.
  2. 2.0, maybe 2.5. I'd suggest just getting a 'top loader' rather than entombing it. Easier, much cheaper, stays in your hands w/no chance it gets lost or damaged further, etc.
  3. Hundred pages of great Kirby art, though it's not high literature or anything. And at a really nice price, for what was basically the first 'graphic novel' by Marvel. Plus, you know, Galactus. : )
  4. There's nothing technical about it, it is his first appearance. #181 is just more appealing as an introduction to the character. Maybe we could just change the classification. I vehemently hate the first "full" appearance thing. Why not say #180 is the "First appearance of Wolverine" and #181 is the "Introduction of Wolverine". Amazing Spider-Man #299 is the "First appearance of Venom" and #300 is the "Introduction of Venom"? Just an idea... Fair point. But in the age of subjective definitions, please let me clarify that I don't consider a cameo an "appearance."
  5. FN. Maybe just a 5.5, with the edge wear at bottom and smudge on the banner title.
  6. Interesting, thank you. Never having looked it up, I've generally read it as "retroactively conceived." I.e. the PTB decided later that they would rewrite established history. Won't dive into the hornet's nest of the main topic, except to comment that in the 8 years or so I've been back collecting, I noticed a large increase in the value of Hulk 180 as a percentage of 181. I've assumed mainly that this was because of the huge run ups we've seen in prices (can't afford a 181 so buy this other one), but maybe the persistent argument of "well, 180 is technically Wolv's first appearance" has gained traction. So for all those with stockpiles of the "lesser" counterparts to a key book, keep it up! Ya never know.
  7. I just checked your spoiler, interesting. But anyway, on second thought thinking the close-ups show such an exaggeration of the light corner wear, so I think 8.0 is possible too - would need to see in hand, or pic at an angle with major glare to highlight the surface. [not suggesting you take more pics, just pointing out challenge of grading by pics.]
  8. Geez, that's a tough one - overall eye appeal grade is lower NM (9.2 ish), but that looks like a long stress along the right edge (just to the rt of the big brown Titles box), which mean heck, what, 7.5 ? If that line is a stress or a scratch, could it still get an 8.0 since it's so nice o/w?
  9. 7.5, but maybe just a 7.0, hard to tell even with the pics.
  10. 4.0 to 4.5, depending on what grader ate for lunch.
  11. 8.5-. That ding at top right is the killer (and top right corner stresses), on an o/w very pretty copy.
  12. Me too, small chance just a 3.5. With clean staples would guess 4.0+.
  13. Imo it's a 4.5, but a very nice copy for that grade. I guess it could score 'average.'
  14. Chance at a 7.0. Outside edge looks like rough cut, would place on another comic just to make sure it's all there.
  15. +1, a nice 7.0. Maybe a grade higher.
  16. So, green eggs and water rabbit? Hope this year's not particularly interesting, buddy, heard it's gonna be a long one.
  17. Good fortune, Andy, will be watching/shopping. Might have to post a second book before tonight to avoid thread getting closed - though things might have changed, last year the rules were being interpreted to prohibit posting a one-book teaser with promise of more to come.
  18. toro and lizards2, super, very grateful you shared that idea with us. Had shipped through overgradebay until I stopped selling there, and was using paypal (meh) the past couple of years since, and very glad to stop sending them money wherever possible.
