  1. As everyone said, they look pretty similar, so maybe the seller's error was accidental. Not an excuse of course, that's why "A copy" and "B copy" were invented. The 2nd copy seems (from back cover pic) to have a small impact ding near bottom of spine. I'd guess 7.0 and 6.5, but probably Im being too critical, and the centering on both is exceptional for this book.
  2. That million dollar book isn't a typo, is it jimbo? Didn't you once start a thread mentioning needing some funds for rent? Man, that must be some pad you got.
  3. These are some fine books, crassus, wish I didn't already have them all - damn if that isn't a super pretty copy of the FF 6 king size. Couldn't spot the "stain on bk cover", must be tiny.
  4. I'm DC curious, Mike, what can I say?
  5. WEREWOLF BY NIGHT 32 CGC 7.0 X-Men #4 CGC 2.0 Tales of Suspense 57 CGC 7.0 B&B 28 3.0 AMAZING SPIDERMAN #129 CGC 5.0 DAREDEVIL #7 CGC 6.5 ^take these as we discussed, thanks TC !
  6. Hey Robert, sweet thread, again. Hope you have a great New Year buddy. Liked your upgrade on the FF 45 the other day - must be getting pretty close to having only a handful of single-digit issues remaining on the run. !
  7. Or simply decide to exercise the "ignore" muscles even for those of us who rarely use it.
  8. Lotta 24s. You guys are pretty awesome. Which I guess makes Yorick super awesome.
  9. I'd guess 7.5 as is, pity about that trc.
  10. Awesome contest Mike, thank you. That Tec getting a 5.5 has to be the poster child for why people who sell CGC comics say "no returns on CGC." If I bought it w/o seeing the back cover I'd simply destroy it and buy another copy somewhere (and strike the seller off my 'trust' list); and having seen the back, still can't imagine how it ever could rate better than a 4.0. Rusted staple stain and water staining, pretty ugly. Fun times, thanks for all the players who participated too.
  11. 3.0 to 3.5 (slight chance) buddy. Was away for a funeral, sorry to miss this.
  12. And the soiling. My worst book so far - called it a 4.0 and got 3 points, ouch. Got a bullseye at least, and six point total, not great, not awful.
  13. Me too on the NM (I ended up guessing 8.0 - in my PM to Mike I made my first comment - "Tough call on the NM98, want to say 8.5, but can't get past that dog ear. ") And me too on the CM, my gut said 7.5 and ended up at 8.5 because those spots on back might've been foxing and not staining. The rest were 'normal' defects.
  14. Coulda shoulda woulda - I went w/the circled guesses - 2 of the 3 guessed wrong - got lucky on the Dragon. The 'blank' is Supes of course. WBN pretty lame VG, imo.
  15. When I got my ASM 1 within a day it was cracked out and had again achieved comicness, the way it was born and lived and meant to be and will die, if I have any say.
  16. Switch those two predictions - i.e. 1.5 is more likely imo.
  17. 1.0, the cover's detached and think that's the max (cd easily be wrong tho). If there was a 0.8 grade, I'm sorry to say that's what I'd give it (because of all the drawing and big tape pull on fc). But there ain't, so that's pretty cool!
  18. That black star on the M means bought on a military base, right? I'm at min 3.5, but probably 4.0. Hate to advocate for press but that would probably heavily reduce how bad the tear looks (nicely shown in your two images - the back scan looks much nicer than the close-up photo).
  19. I've seen pencil price on back cover (top left) pretty often that seems to have made no difference in the final CGC grade - but can't be sure of course.
  20. My guess is 3.5. But as grendelbo said, that top left corner is a question mark since we can't see it in the scan. For comparison, a couple of years ago this DD1 got a 4.0 without clean/press (shows bit less edge wear & tear):
  21. Think those dogears top right corner keep it at/below 8.0, but maybe not if a book looks amazing in hand. I think that 'color rub' along spine might not be what we think it is - I thought the same thing when I first saw it, anyway. But I've since seen that same affliction on other books and there's a decent chance it's production/printed related defect. I was hoping a pro could give opinion.
  22. My personal copy, had it for decades, hasn't seen the light of day in long time. opinions are welcome. Thanks.
