  1. We set up at the Collector's Summit held at Heritage the last two years. Not your traditional con, but a lot of great books present.
  2. One that I miss not having on our schedule, but as Bob already said, we are a business and need to make money when taking the time to attend these shows. This one was a minimum 6 day trip including travel days, and the last two times we did we felt we were very lucky to break even or make a few hundred dollars. I do miss seeing our customers in that region and definitely the city. Hoping that show can make a comeback of some kind in the future.
  3. It will be relisted and repriced once we receive it back with the proper print designation.
  4. Hey all, As Beyonder mentioned, we were unaware until one of you let us know yesterday. I was out with my wife, so couldn’t look into the article they linked until today, but I have since confirmed CGC made a mistake and have removed it from the site and eBay so we can get it sent down to CGC and reholdered with the proper print designation. Appreciate @Sigur Ros for letting me know. I don’t check the boards much anymore, so if anyone has any questions or issues in the future please feel free to email me directly at: austin@reececomics.com hope you all have a nice rest of your weekend. -Austin
  5. Looking forward to our hometown show this weekend! Alex, Chase, and I will be there with tons of new material since Chicago. I believe we have added about 250+ new slabs to our convention inventory (several thousand more on the website) since Fan Expo Chicago and also spent several weeks repricing the rest of our existing show inventory to fall more in line with current pricing. As always, if you have any books you would like to sell or consign please keep us in mind. Booth #909 ( same spot as last year)
  6. I’ll be there in booth #718! Lots of new books since our last show.
  7. Hi Folks! We are gearing up for a great weekend in Rosemont! We will be in booth #718 with tons of new books!
  8. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth this past week, we had a great time even though we were dog tired. We were in a new location this year on the corner of an aisle and finally with 2 booths. We noticed our foot traffic was way up and we had a tremendous show even with having a limited inventory. Hopefully next year we can drive out and bring our full show inventory. As Bob said, the Torpedo show is a great option for those who don't want to spend a ton on the spectacle of SDCC and just want to see great books. There were maybe a few hundred people to contend with over the weekend, in a room packed with amazing books. We'll definitely be back! -Austin
  9. Obviously things are always a little different on our side of the table, but I thought the show was great and the value presented for $15 was unreal. You had wall to wall comic art and vintage comics from dealers such as Superworld, Terry O’Neill, Al Stoltz, Harley Yee, Shelton Drum, Us, and many others. I think any show you go to you can find overpriced books, but we did almost as well as we did at C2E2 the weekend before. And I’ll echo my kudos to Jason for having a vision and making it a reality. He goes above and beyond to make the process easy for dealers and customers alike and it’s a big reason we want to support his show and others like it. Here are a few pictures of our booth from the show! And as an aside, if you see a book that you believe to be overpriced on our site or at a show, feel free to reach out to us and make an offer! It is incredibly tough to reprice hundreds or thousands of books and while we try our best, there are only three of us sailing this ship. I can’t promise we can accept every time, but we will always take a listen. -Austin
  10. Hope this is making your radar! Alex and I will be there with our double booth setup. See you this weekend!
  11. Didn't see any other thread on this show coming up in a few short weeks! https://www.c2e2.com We will be located in Booth #1319 (same booth as previous few years) with all of the new inventory we have listed since our last show in October. Hope to see some of you there!
  12. We will be at booth Megacon and C2E2 since they are scheduled on the same weekend. Alex and Greg will be in Megacon, so please be sure to stop by Booth #1029 to see what we brought. I believe Megacon put most of the dealers together this year, so hopefully we are all easier to find than last year!
  13. Just wanted to say thank you to you and others who have shouted us out. And yes- this newest design was released early last month and we have received a lot of positive feedback while we continue to improve the experience.
  14. Hey All, I know many of you have used our website over the years, and I'm excited to announce that today we launched the newest iteration of our website. If you have some time, I would love for you to checkout all the work we put into this newest version: www.reececomics.com -Austin
  15. Here are a few of my third eyes. Have another one that I would like to get reframed at the moment.
  16. Hey Matt, you can put me down for $25. Just send me an email or text when you collect as I don't check the boards super often. Thanks and happy holidays to all.
  17. A little bit late on this but Alex and I had a great time setting up at this show. Huge thanks to Heritage and Nate ( @Kihei Collectibles) for putting it on! As we were recommended to do, we brought about 100 slabs of Golden Age/High End Silver. Considering we brought so few books, I was very happy with what we were able to sell and also bought a few books throughout the weekend from guys who brought their own stuff to set up on tables. The Heritage location was extremely convenient being right next to the airport and the catered food on Saturday night and free food trucks on Sunday were a really nice touch. I mentioned a few times over the weekend that us comic guys are used to being shoved into the back corner of a convention hall with dim lighting, and this was the exact opposite of that. We were set up in a beautifully lit gallery and treated with respect, and it did not go unnoticed. I would love to see this show happen again in the same format with a focus on high end books, and if Heritage were gracious enough to host again, that was a perfect venue. Thanks to all who came by and shopped or said hello! See you all next year!
  18. A few of the new slabs we have listed. A lot more where this came from! See everyone next week!
  19. Alex, Chase and I will be in Booth #909. We are only running two booths this year of our vintage set up. We will have 5-6 new short boxes of slabs since New York and about 500 new raws since New York. Of course, we added several thousand new books before New York, so if you haven't seen us recently our inventory will look very different. As always, this is one of our favorite shows of the year and we look forward to seeing everyone!
  20. Hard to say on there is a set % for the market at large but I would guess in the 20-30% range. Thankfully we had a ton of new inventory that I was able to price 1-2 weeks before the show so all of those prices were current. Due to the size of our inventory it's tough to go back and reprice everything, so I am open to hearing fair offers at shows or otherwise.
  21. Obviously our viewpoint is completely different as a dealer but this was one of our best shows of the year. I'm sure it's no coincidence that we did great in a year that Dale, Ted, Zapp, etc. weren't there, but we also took the time to reorganize our entire show stock and reload with about 2,000 new raw books and 250+ new slabs. Our busiest days were Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, though I heard other dealers had a great Thursday. It seemed to us that a lot of the guys looking for higher dollar items wanted to do their due diligence and walk the floor before making a decision, and in this market I don't blame them. We sold about 10-15 wall books throughout the weekend but I was most surprised by the amount of raws that we sold. We priced out tons of $100-$250 raw books to put in our boxes (x-men #9 and up, Avengers #10 and up, ASM #20 and up, etc) and a lot of those were selling very quickly. Buying for us was way down since we aren't paying as strong as what we were during the COVID years. All in all, it seemed that if your books were priced at current value (and I mean very current), there were a lot of people looking to buy. However, if you were priced from 12, 6, or even 3 months ago, I can see why you may not have had a great show. As Foolkiller said, I think some of these smaller one day shows may start to work their way onto more dealers schedules. I know we are doing Collector's Summit, Little Giant Show, and hopefully Torpedo Con if they run it again. I've said before I don't need 200,000 people in a room for a great show, just the right 200 people. And yes, load in/load out was terrible, Reed has GOT to figure out a way to make that easier on us. Not to mention, the place was so crowded that the internet was unreliable for 80% of the entire show, meaning we couldn't look up GPA or run credit card sales conveniently. For those of you who stopped by to say hello, I sincerely appreciate it and hope you had a good time! It was exhausting, but its always one of our favorite shows of the year.
