  1. What do you guys think about the coverless Batman 1 on ebay? Price doesnt seem too far off. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batman-1-Vol-1-CGC-NG-Coverless-1st-App-of-the-Joker-and-Catwoman-Original-1940-/201845369311?hash=item2efeebe9df:g:4zgAAOSwol5YvzB7
  2. Are #2s undervalued? New to comics after a long layoff. Have always been into vintage baseball cards as well. Looking at similarites between the two hobbies, the biggest thing that surprised me was the price gap between #1s and #2s of the big keys. In cards the second year card is typically 1/5 to maybe 1/10 the price of the rookie card generally. Not hard and fast but somewhere around there. Comics.....totally different. Superman 1, Batman 1, Cap 1 are all roughly half million dollar books. The #2s for each can be had for 5-10 grand in mid grade. In know keys are bigger than when the book was printed, first appearances of villians etc. Still seems like the 1st issues havent dragged the #2s along with it much at all.
  3. As long as there's a market for them, guaranteed it will continue. Not sure those with that kind of money see a big difference between a moderate and an extensive restoration. The final number is what matters.
  4. Of the 27-38 run, 28 is the only issue that at present counts more restored than universal copies. 27 has an the number distributed equally. How accurate are those numbers though? I don't know, im asking? As more and more are restored, id imagine a fair amount of those were previous low grade blue labels. I know i see a lot more restored pre robin tecs on the market than blue labels.
  5. expect the blue labeled Tecs to continue to rise in value as the restored numbers overtake them. Friggin unmolested copies are becoming unicorns
  6. Confusing on their site. Is it just states they have an office in or all states that have a sales tax? Gracias.
  7. I can guarantee Fedex's terms and conditions are air tight in terms of liability. You would have better luck, albeit slim, in going after CGC for shipping out a $4000 item with $100 in insurance, even though the ultimate responsibility is yours. You'd have to prove it was stolen to have recourse against Fedex and then go after that employee. The police most certainly aren't getting involved. I know it must be extremely frustrating to have nowhere to turn.
  8. An idea, maybe an out there one. These guys dont care whether you get it or not, they get paid the same amount either way. Doubt they looked that hard for it. Offer a reward to those you speak with. $500 if they find it. Prolly wont help but may be worth a shot.
  9. Sorry this happened to you. Seems like the supervisor told you what happened to it in so many words. They prolly stopped looking cause they know its not there. Keep an eye on ebay and the auction sites.
