  1. Grabbed some today. Got the itch. 7 marvel and 1 DC. Nothing significant really. FYI - Last comic shown was first comic (other than Patch, not sure why I didnt order them right)...
  2. I love these walmart packs, but I haven't bought many lately. 3 comics for $10 sucks. Bring back the 7 for $10 and Im in again.
  3. Picked up some more packs at Wal-mart. More proof that the 3 packs arent worth it. I dont think Ive ever pulled anything valuable (not counting the Wal-mart exclusives) from the 3 packs. Only the 7 packs seemed like they had high value stuff in them (or at least best chance of high value). Ive opened a lot of these packs now so nice sample size....
  4. I dont want to give the impression I dont like the show. I enjoy it. It isn't perfect, but much better than the s*** that was the last two movies. I appreciate that it's a balancing act when trying to write great content that appeals to a wide variety of fans who are multi-generational along with trying to garner new fans. Plus, I have all the main keys for Can Bane and Black Krrsantan. ;)
  5. I like Book of Boba Fett probably better than most (after hearing/reading comments). I've really enjoyed it all except the one episode (power ranger bikers). I do feel though that they are leaning into the "western" trope a little too hard though. Lucas always had the western tone in the first trilogy and the Mandalorian pushed it a bit further. BoBF seems to have pushed it a little far for me. I still like the show just seemed a little heavy handed. It reminded me of the pod race in Ep 1. Not the childish, ridiculousness of the pod race just the out of place feeling that it had.
  6. Found some packs at my local wal-mart. They had a full box. I just bought one of each, but didnt buy the captain america/iron man one (not sure why I didnt)....
  7. Same here. I have a bunch of Star Wars comics that I sent to CCS/CGC fast tracked in May that are still in CCS. They've said "CCS in process" for like 2 months now. I sure hope they finish them soon so they can get graded. I emailed customer service the other day and they said they are still within their estimated turn around time. Seems odd to me though. They got them in May and been in CCS for almost 2 months now (I cant remember when they actually said they "received them"). I have some Boba Fett books in there along with a high grade SW 42.
  8. LCS's pricing based on "hot" books is fine as long as they arent doing it without even having to "price" them. I've heard reports of people buying books and the LCS looking up the books on ebay. If that's true, that's BS. Obviously they can do what they want, but I wouldn't shop there. None of the ones I go to are doing that thankfully. Larger point, if you are spec'ing right, the books you are buying aren't "hot" yet. Yes, I've bought books right after they hit the "apps", but most/many times, I have those books before they make the lists. Mostly though, look for books that aren't hot on ebay yet.
  9. Yeah, I havent seen it and Ive opened a few Venom packs. All of mine were purple letters (dont know if that matters). I opened one white letter Venom 25. You should spec on Gorr though. I think Thor God of Thunder #5 1:50 ratio is one that is gonna be valuable. Ive seen it go for cheap on ebay a few times. Its hard to find though. I dont think its in the wal-mart packs though. haha. Ive pulled some Thor books out of the wal-mart packs, but none are really worth much. I pulled a King Thor #3 which wasnt too bad, but not worth a lot right now.
  10. Im still hunting the King Thor #1 2nd print. haha. I probably could have just bought it by now, but part of me wants to pull one.
  11. Anyone buying them for the high ratios doesnt know the value in these then. Ive bought lots of the wal-mart packs. The better value in these packs are the rare 2nd prints by far. I've pulled one high ratio 1:1000 out of the packs and it still isnt worth the amount of the multiple Invincible Iron Man #2 and the Shuri #2 2nd prints that I pulled. I've pulled a lot of 2nd prints worth $20-$40 as well. I'd love to know the highest value book to come out of a wal-mart pack. Anyone know that?
  12. Dropped into Half Priced Books today and skimmed through their comics. Some of these were just covers I liked. Not bad for about $25 total....
  13. Yep, Ive seen that too. Ive found about 6 out there, but most of the time, they are gone. I like the Doctor Strange, Eternals (Thanos cover), and the Dark Ages packs too. I bout 2 or 3 of each of those. I haven't found any good comics inside these though compared to the 7 comic packs. Those Iron Man #1 2nd prints (riri covers), Shuri #2 2nd print, and a Peter Parker Spec Spider-man #1 1:1000 are the best things Ive pulled out of the 7 comic packs. I've probably bought 25-30 packs overall of those. I've really been wanting that King Thor #1 2nd print.
  14. These were the first comic of each pack (the GotG #1 was the first comic of the second pack in both with Iron Heart #1 second print behind both of those). There is definitely a pattern.
  15. Found some new packs tonight. These were 7 comics for $10 packs. I also found a red cover Moon Knight pack too, but these were the winners. One had Maestro #1 on the front and the other had an ASM comic. Inside both, the second pack of comics had a Guardians of the Galaxy #1 with this behind each..... One had a tick at the top and the other has slight blunted corner. Both need to be pressed, but I could see the one with a tick getting a 9.4 (9.6 on a generous day). The other is a 9.6 maybe (9.8 on a generous day). Overall, it was a nice find for sure. Best Ive pulled out.
  16. Pulled this out of Wal-Mart pack this weekend...
  17. Pulled this out of a Wal-Mart pack this weekend. I thought the black dot on spine was a defect, but looks like thats normal on them. High grade candidate....
  18. Some pick-ups from past 2-3 weeks. Some are from recent deliveries. The Avatar FCBD books are actually ones I found in my own back issues/short boxes. I got a few of the Marvel Zombies #1 (spec'ing a bit on E. Bloodstone). I got some a few other Bloodstone covers, but couldn't find them when taking this picture. I overpaid for the 1:50 Thor #5....I bought from Mile High with their discount, but I feel like this book is going to take off and its a hard one to find. It's a solid 9.8 candidate.... This was an auction I won. I think I got it for $60 shipped. I believe with a press, it will regrade at 9.6 or 9.8.... There are some purchases that I am sending off to have Tynion and Simmonds sign....
  19. Haha, finally. I bought a few of the variants when they came out. Figured this one wasn't ever going to go anywhere.
  20. Any CGC facilitators for this one? I have a few books that Id like to get signature series submissions.
  21. Yeah, I pre-ordered a couple of those as well. Completely agree that it looks better.
  22. Welcome to the world of art that has been around for tens of thousands of years. I like some of her covers and some look terrible to me. Doesn't mean she isnt a "good" artist or her art isnt good. Subjectivity.
  23. Haha, I don't think he has to say that. It will happen anyway. Seriously though, he meant that he is going to shake things up. I get the feeling he wants fans to go into a rage and turn green when reading his Hulk issues. He said it will be a good thing though. He didn't give any specifics about what he is going to do. He likes to be vague.
  24. Im gonna pick up a couple Hulk #1's. Not sure which covers yet. With Cates writing, Im sure there will be some sparks early at least. I went to the Cates event here in Dallas. He couldn't say what was going to happen, but said he has some major things planned for Hulk. His comment was that most fans are gonna be angry after reading each issue (not sure what that means exactly).
