  1. Nothing fancy - just word, printed onto A4 sticky labels. I'm a bit of a luddite but the end result looks ok
  2. Once again in English! Oh, and a little tip Holly. If you use emojis from your device they will, over time, appear as question marks on the boards. So all your posts will end up looking like questions. Stick to the board ones - limited though they are - and you'll be ok
  3. Exactly that. You get your one shot at the price you're comfortable with and win or lose accordingly. If you win, it may well be that is because you didn't give any other bidders time to bid again. So it's a no brainer. People who bid over and over so that they are always 'winning' tend to overpay in my experience.
  4. The red dividers are cool aren't they. Charlton red
  5. Whoa now... I'm not the one with 39,000 posts He got you there Liz
  6. "Dear s in charge of Doctor Who...."
  7. Pence variant indeed! Furiously checks spreadsheets...
  8. Like we don't already know! Care Bears indeed...
  9. I still do! Although it took a while to find the apostrophes setting! (I'm good at them ) And here's a good way to label your comics - double Mylite2 with a custom sticker on the inner Mylite. A little expensive, but works a treat
  10. I love the way he sent me back my letter, and circled the two prices: Cheers Fog
  11. I think I see where you're going with this, but I'd change the thread title otherwise people will just start posting obscure film titles Also, what do you mean by 'not helping the comic book'? In sales? I thought the last Spidey film was awful but I have no idea whether that had any bearing on the comic. And when you say 'didn't help the appearance', what do you mean by 'appearance'? And who won the FA Cup in 1967? Basically, what I'm saying is "please start again"
  12. They surely are. At least I have my Capaldi box set, to remind me of what can be achieved while I wait for the current crowd to move on.
  13. ebay wants to make money. They're like the supermarket who change everything around, as they know that means you'll be forced to look at new things as you search for your stuff. And you might just buy them. A funny thing happened to me on ebay recently. I had searched the previous day for a particular Amazing Spidey book. The next day, sitting in the middle of my listings for 'Charlton comics' was two copies of that Spidey book. Charlton was nowhere to be seen in the listing title or description. A similar thing happened with some Squeeze records appearing in a comic search. Are we surprised? I think as we go on, ebay will try to subtly put as much stuff that you have 'shown an interest in' in front of you as it can, in the hope you will buy it. The days of getting only the results you asked for are coming to an end I think.
  14. Yes. Competent at best. No flair in my view. Still, I got a letters published in DWB too. But I'm a charity worker, and he's the current lead writer on Dr Who. He's made it, he's in charge, good luck to him.
  15. We're up to 209 confirmed pence copies now - I spotted this Looney Tunes #222 on eBay in the week: We only need LT #223 for a full 9d block now: There's a UK seller who has a helpful habit of placing stickers across the area where a 9d may be: Too pricey to buy on the off chance. I'll try a message. In terms of what may not exist, the spreadsheet screenshot above remains quite telling - no books for the visible titles beyond October 1960 so far. Other hidden titles do have copies from that date of course, so we can never say never, but it is starting to look fairly convincing isn't it. Time will tell...
  16. Chibnall was from Formby, Merseyside, so it is him. Funny isn't it - I'm having such a hard time marrying his obvious fandom credentials to his own take on the show which comes across to me as being the product of someone with only a passing knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. Weird.
  17. All theories are welcome Stephen, and that's as good as any even though there is not one scintilla of information that I've ever seen to support it. Stepping back from all the theories, the simple fact is that the same book (RHK #17) has four variations - one pence copy and three cents with different fonts. It is really difficult to imagine how those four variations were the product of one singular print job in the same location. RHK #17 was a popular book, so a reprint wouldn't be beyond the limits of credulity. And yet, again, no such information exists or is implied anywhere that I can see. Quite the opposite in fact - all books from this time were allegedly overprinted in the first place. And remember, from my research, there are 12 other books with these cents font variations, none of which fit an obvious 'we need a reprint' scenario. So lets hope that Brittany takes up the challenge. Someone out there must know. The answer may be convoluted, simple, or ridiculous. Or a mix of the three. But someone must know, and I think that asking CGC personnel to take up the challenge is a good way of finding that person Imagine how cool it would be to discover something meaningful about these books, 60 years after they've been analysed to death...
  18. Oh, and for the kind of books you're looking for, these buttons will help: ...but you'll miss any listed with 99c starts of course.
