thanks for the grade.... I'm working on getting better lighting the next time I take pictures... the last few days is the first time I've ever tried taking pictures and putting them on sites. Your not the only one to complain about the lighting.... I'm gonna take some pictures of a FF 45 here in a bit and I think I've got much better lighting set up... but again I thank you for looking at these pics and trying to give a grade

nope, My Amazing SM #1 is my only Major KEY thats restored.... My TTA 27, Daredevil #1, SGT. Fury #1, Hulk 181, FF 48, TOS 52 are all without any restoration...I'd like to maybe send out those 6 to get started... Or maybe My ASM #1 to 10(only #1 is restored). I'd also like to send them out it sets, like Send my Hulk 180,181 and 182 Or Fantastic Four 48,49 and 50........ or Hulk 181, Giant Sized X-Men #1 and X-Men 94.... I bet those might be easier to sell as a set if I got them sent out to be graded.....Or maybe not, Maybe the best way to sell them is individually to different people, Maybe selling them as a set to 1 person would result in them wanted a better deal.....lol I have no clue how to try and sell comics..lol

can you even give a shot in the dark grade? a "dont quote me" on this but from what little I can see I would maybe say ___________?

but would collectors be able to tell that it was at one time restored and then had restoration removal? or is it better to have even that, than a restored copy?

Thank you.... I know this will sound stupid to long time collectors like you guys... But everything you guys are telling is stuff I needed to know. I truly didnt know if I should send it to CGC, If it would hurt or help...I didnt know how much the Amateur Restoration effects it. but between this thread and another thread I made, everyone seems to be in universal agreement If I'm looking to sell A Big Key issue, sending it out is a must to get the best value....again this is just something I did not fully understand until now But The problem is, Now that I know that....I've probably got around 60 to 70 Big Time Keys that surely need to be sent out....and thats quite a bit of money.... Do you know if any of The Grading company do discounts if you sent them A bunch of Keys in bulk?

Hey guys, I'm taking the advice of a follow poster here who suggested I post my Restored ASM #1 here... I've got several questions I hope you guys could help me with. 1. of course, in your opinion what is the grade. and 2. whatever that grade is, how do I tell the value? how much does It being restored take away from the value? Hypothetically lets say you guys agree its a 3.0 Restored....do I look up how much a universal 3.0's value is and then whatever that value is take like 50 to 60% off of mine for being restored? Hey....I'm just hoping you guys might be able to give me your opinions on a few books....I've never sent any comics to CGC or anything, Just wanted to post a few books to see if my grades are even close to accurate. PS, I dont know a lot about this board, should I create a new thread for a different book, or should I post 2 books in one thread? for example, I want you guys to also look at my Fantastic Four #45, but I dont know if I should post BOTH TOS #52 and FF#45 in one thread or make 2 thanks for any advice and grading you give...

Yes the answer is Nothing... as I said, I never wanted to sell any of my collection...The only reason why I made the thread 18 months ago was because I thought I was going to need extra money to help care for my dad... The thread I made 18 months didnt get very many responses, and Then My dad went to nursing homes on and off for 14 ,months.... basically, once my father started going to nursing homes, I didnt think I was going to need to sell any comics anymore, therefor I didnt look into it any further. Monday my world changed when he passed away. sorry if my situation is a slap in the face...I would think you can understand, I just never had any intentions of ever selling anything from my collection, But then a situation hit where I considered it and Then it went away....

Thats the complete opposite....I dont want to selling hardly any of my collection. I only want to sell a few Key issues to help pay for my dads funeral... But I had no clue how to best sell Key Issues. I was hoping I could find a community of collectors that were looking for certain Key Issues to fill in their collections and I could then sell them a few of My Keys for remotely close to their value... I would be LOST without my collection, I'll probably take it to grave with me...but I do need to sell a few Keys...and this thread has provided great advice....only it seems to be taken a turn for the worst in the last day with quite a few people now being mean... I think posting pictures was a mistake...

The number of boxes dont change.... I list different boxes because I want to be specific to what I'm talking about... The collection started out as 175 boxes.... Only around 85 to 90 of which ended up being marvel and DC.. The rest was westerns,archies,dell,looney tunes, and stuff like that.... so in one post where I said 90....that was accurate as I was talking about all My Marvel and DC... In the other post where I noted 50 to 70, I was referring only to My Major Marvel and DC sets...as I have a bunch of boxes with Marvel and DC but there are off the wall sets like The Machine Man, Kull, The Thing, Nova, and so on... I wasnt changing the amount of boxes, Only trying to be specific. to recap. total collection is 175. around 90 of which are marvel and dc somewhere around 50 + boxes are Major sets and duplicates of major sets. 20 to 40 boxes are off the wall marvel and dc titles "plus 2 years ago, I had no interest in selling" --> June 24, 2017 (not 2 years ago, but a year and a half)" and I'm not even going to comment on the "Time" because if this is the best you can do your just reaching .... sorry for not stopping directly in the middle of a post and going back to look at my history to see the exact date, I truly can say only someone who is looking to argue would be bothered by that.... 3. The pictures show several posters on the walls, along with not being a comic collector -- or maybe you just got into it in the last 3 years when you started going through the collection -- the posters are older than three years and would have to have been put up before the boxes and shelving. ^^^ read my posts!.... I specifically said it took Me 3 years to go through the collection, Not that I've only been collecting 3 years. In My post, I said I started collecting in 2006, I had a small collection of duplicate my grandfather gave me. in 2013 he passed away, that is when I inhered the collection...from 2013 until 2016 is when I went through the entire collection. I'm not kidding every single thing you tried to nitpick and point out is explained in the posts in this thread...

so far I really like The "Mycomicshop" recommendations, I'm looking into it and like what I see... I'm right now looking into and considering shipping 20 of my best Comics to CGC....everyone here is in agreement, with my best and most value issues thats the way to get the best value. I also really like ComicLink Auctions, I got a PM from the marketing director, saying they will do everything and only take a 10% cut and of course I've got a ton of PMs from people whom I'm taking to... all in all, I couldnt be happier with the advice and response the thread has gotten....

no not different answers.... just ANSWERS....I got very little response 18 months ago...Only 6 replies.... first, I'm interested in selling much different comics now....then I only wanted to sell duplicates starting at 100 on.... Now I'm interested in selling KEYS...I figured this was a Huge difference and wanted advice on how to best sell... second, even If I got wrote the exact same post, word for word the exact same(which I didnt) Its been 18 months.... thats a long time for different and new people to come on these boards and potentially give better advice or for regular poster to respond this time that didnt respond last time... basically it seem you are just looking to be mean...I could understand if I made the same post a month apart.... But were talking about 2 posts made 18 months apart where I'm asking for advice in selling 2 completely different type of collections... This newest thread has been everything I could have wanted, I've gotten Dozens of replies with people giving me great advice. 18 months ago I got 6 replies and didnt really get the advice or response I was hoping for... all in all....I'm extremely happy I made this new post....I also find it quite ODD it seems to bother you this much and quite astonished you didnt understand the differences between the thread 18 months ago and this new thread(to be honest, They cant be anymore different) Also no I did not attempt to sell the book in the last 18 months...My dad ended up going in and out of a nursing home for about 14 months before finally coming home about 2 months ago on Home Hospice to pass away... I am absolutely willing to put in the time and effort....I'm not kidding, I lived This collection for 3 years, When I got it, it was over 175 Boxes, that hadnt been gone through since the late 80's. I spent 3 years, every night going through it, Literally buying new bags and backers from every issue, News boxes, Grading every issue and making lists. to be honest, it was one of the greatest experiences of my life, I'll never for get it, but It was time and effort. the point is, I'm not your usual collector, I've never sold a book, I didnt piece my collection together over years, only 3 people have ever seen the collection...I just dont know the ins and outs of the comic book world or the world of a collector/seller.. I thought I specifically said "I have a few comics that have been amateur restored" and I have those comics specifically marked and Noted... basically what it comes down to is, I'm collector that has never been around other collectors, Only 3 people have ever even seen my collection(my father and Grandfather), I've never sold a comic before and have only ever been to a small time comic convention maybe 7 times. my grandfather had a collection of about 175 Boxes....My dad was a life long comic reader and had a huge collection in the 80's(thats what started my grandfather collecting) Ironically My grandfather never read a single book he ever had(only collected because of the value), In the 80's, My grandfather lived in Florida and my dad lived in Indiana, My dad came to visit him and stay for about 4 months, My dad did not want to leave his collection at his house, so he brought it with him...my grandfather of course made fun of him for bringing the books and constantly joked about I dont know why you collect them, My dad eventually showed him his collection and explained things to him.....the next day My grandfather Made A Massive "We buy comics" Sign and put it in front of his business(at the time he owned a costume car lot on a Main Florida road, where he did Costume work on van's) He also ran a ad in the paper.... My dad told The next 4 months was the most astonishing thing he saw, every day people would come in and sell My grandfather boxes of comics and then Him and My dad would go home that night and go through them...My dad said He remembered sitting on the living room floor going through a box of Avengers my grandpaw bought that day and when news hit that John Lennon had been shot....My dad left after 4 months and came home.... My dad sold his collection about 3 years later(it was one of his biggest regrets) , My grandpa continued to buy until he moved back to Indiana, where from the late 1980's until 2006 He moved back in forth from Indiana to Tennessee probably 30 times(always taking his 175 Boxes with him) I've always been extremely close with my dad and Grandpa, but never had any desire for comics....thats changed about 12 years ago, My grandfather Moved yet again this time across the street from my dad and I(after His wife and my grandmaw died), again we had to bring his collection, But this time since he was so close, My dad and I went through it and he explained to me what was what and why they were value, I got ADDICTED...I then started reading comics. Grandfather passed away about 7 years ago...complete collection went to me. doesn't it cost money though to send each comic into CGC to be graded? how much does the purple label of death hurt a comic? I've got a few comics that look like someone has "Amateur Restored" them. so I can get an idea, I mean for example how much would the Purple label hurt Amazing Spider-Man #1....Lets say you had a "Amateur Restored" AM1....does that knock the value down 60-70%?

What is the best way to find Buyers that are buying for their "Personal Collection" I have a rather large collection, and Have A lot of Doubles and Triples of Key Issues....but I have no interest in selling to dealers as usually pay 50% of what they are worth and then re-sell them for a profit... I'm looking for a site where Collectors are looking for comics for their personal collections, as These are they type that would pay reasonably close to what the books are actually worth. I Have Pulled around 1100 Marvel and DC Key Issues from My collection and I'd like to find some buyers that could give me a list of Certain Key Issues they are looking to buy for their Personal Collection, so I could then know if I have any Doubles or Triples and would want to sell. I live in Indiana, and I've tried craiglist's but no luck. I've searched the net...every site I go to is full with 90% dealers....I'd just like to find a site that has a community of Collectors that are trying to find The Issues they need for Their collection I could see how this post could be offensive, I'll understand if you dont care to respond but if anyone does I'd appropriate it PS this is not a TROLL thread(I posted here a few years ago and got blasted with "post pictures" or get out comments(I have pics if its really necessary)

I have a large collection, Due to some Health Issues with My father I'm looking to sell some comics for the first time. I wanting to sell some of my Duplicates....I Have doubles and Triples of of a lot of The Marvel Big 7... my question is, If I were to list/Sell The Incredible Hulk #100 Through 350, The Avengers #100 Through 350, Daredevil #100 Through 350, Invincible Iron Man #100 Through 350, Fantastic Four #100 Through 350, and Amazing Spider-Man #100 Through 350....what would be a good asking price....Also All Key Issues would be pulled(example I would pull Amazing Spider-Man 121,122,129,135,136,194 and so on ...) Basically you'd be buying Near complete Run Of The Big 7 starting at 100 but The Key Issues would be pulled. I realize This probably isn't the right section to post this in, But I posted In The "Selling Comics" section not to long along and got very little activity so I'm posting here. IMO The Average grades of These Comics From 100 to 150 are 5.0 To 6.0 From 150 to 350 the average Grades are 7.0 to 8.0+ thank you for anyone who replies

In Your Opinion what would be the best way to sell like Entire Runs...for example, I've got near complete collection of Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Daredevil,The Avengers, Iron Man and Inc. Hulk(and a decent Run of X-Men) Would I have better luck trying to sell the entire run from like 1 to 500 for a Huge Price...Or should I try to sell all the keys first Then Try to sell the rest of the collection/run... for Example if I were selling my Avengers Set, Theres 30 to 40 Key issues(counting 1 through 20), If I sold them I would be left with nearly 460 More Comics from the set, how should I sell them, should I try to sell them like 10 at time, Maybe list like Avengers #30 through #40 for A price. haha I literally have no clue how to sell comics, I have An Absurd amount and truly never intended to sell them, But due to some deaths in the family, I'm now considering it thank again for any advice

thank you this is helpful I do have a question though, when I get on Ebay and look at other IM#55's selling right now....they aren't selling for Half OSPG... In most case's copies graded near 4.0 to 5.0 are selling for 100%+ of overstreet guide, you almost can not touch one for under 200... So why I completely understand adding up the value of the collection and then cutting it half, Should I not do that with certain books like IM55,IH271 and Thor 165....these books are getting near 100% of OSGP, basically what I'm asking is should I add up the total value the collection, cut it in half, but IM55,IH271 and Thor 165 go ahead and ask full OSPG for them

Advice on A Guardians of The Galaxy Collection?
