  1. I was thinking of a watermark, or invisible ink of some sort...seems with the value of books these days, and the tech available to us, someone would have invented something!
  2. Curious if anyone has heard of a way to identify comics of value with some sort of Watermark or a comics related "VIN" number, similar to what is used for cars? I have a bunch of the early Marvel first appearance books, all raw (not that it would matter much if they were cracked out of a CGC case), that I always think it would suck if someone swiped them...they would all be pretty much untraceable securities if they were taken from me. Thought maybe someone has devised a method to identify valuable books, without harming or devaluing them?
  3. Nonetheless, I still appreciate the information. I'd get GPA, if I needed it more than once a year or so...if no one responded, I would have just used the resources available to me, but it was nice of someone to assist.
  4. Hello gang, and happy holidays! I have a BB28 raw, no better than a 1.0 - 1.5. Can someone please let me know the current GPA on this range of book? Thanks!
  5. I'm wondering if the comic companies continued printing with the current paper stock, but also sold a lower priced newsprint option, if people would consider buying? I find that my eyes get fatigued much faster reading my newer format comics. I would definitely consider buying newsprint paper copies myself, but would others would like the idea?
  6. I totally get it...looking forward to receiving the books, and Happy Holidays!
  7. Hello, have you started shipping the books? I know with the holidays to expect delivery delays, just wondering if they've been shipped? I tried contact via PM yesterday, figured you might not have seen it? Thanks!
  8. I am going by memory, but I recall an issue of Super Villain Team up where someone had just killed Namor's woman, and in the last panel, was a perfectly rendered enraged Namor that was about to be unleashed on the person responsible. The very next issue, the exact opposite was on the splash page...Namor in a very poorly rendered version of an instant later. What a letdown. If I can find the 2 pics, I'll load them up here, and let everyone else down too.
  9. After reading the above, that sounds very familiar...I must have read some of those stories way back when. In HOS 92 vs the Swamp Thing series...didn't they change the character's name or origin in some way? Or am I thinking of Man Thing here? I'm just trying to recall if the HOS 92 story segued right into Swamp Thing #1? Time to buy some old Swamp Thing books, and get caught up!
  10. Somewhat off topic, but related...how did they explain the different origin story from HOS 92 with the Alan Moore version? Someone mentioned Moore somehow tied them together?
  11. That's terrific information...also kind of depressing that so few likely exist. Thanks to both of you for going to the trouble!
  12. How many copies of Captain America #1 known to exist? Wondering how many there are of this book still out there, relative to Action 1 and Tec 27...I'm thinking likely more, since it came out later?
  13. Been collecting a long time, and as a result I have most everything I wanted (within reason...still would like a Cap America #1, but that's likely not going to happen)...so these days, I just try to improve on the copies I already have, or buy newer stuff. off the rack at my LCS. I have full runs of FF, DD, Conan, Captain America (and TOS with Cap), Captain Marvel (Silver age). My brother recently gave me all of his early Hulks, up to about #200 or so, so I'm thinking of filling in his Tales to Astonish gaps. If he happens to have some silver age that you're not interested in, let me know...I definitely don't want to poach!
  14. I'm in Jax also, so if he has any books for sale that you're not interested in...hit me up! Maybe we can double our buying power?
