  1. Foliage emblazoned blouse to palm printed shorts
  2. My only book from the Estate sale.
  3. Here is my copy. Ended up grading as a 6.5 Universal.
  4. They take a raw product, process it, encapsulate it, and then ship it out mainly to retailers who sell for a large markup compared to the raw goods. Pretty much the textbook definition of mass production.
  5. I agree. My solution just fixes(?) the going forward part. All of us with substantial investments in CGC product are possibly left with devalued goods. The only good news is that if the Ewert micro-trimming fiasco didn't tank professionally graded comics I do not think this will either. Even with a possible 2,000 books impacted that leaves, what, another 2,000,000 that are fine? Nothing to see here, folks.
  6. They should invest in meeting ISO 9001:2015 standards along with yet another case redesign. If they can state that they are audited yearly and meet ISO 9001:2015 standards AND that they have implemented new fraud protections it would give them a new lease on life. It would give the collector community a solid date they can reference as in, "This book was encapsulated before June,2024 so I know it could have been swapped. This book was encapsulated after 2024 so, with CGC's process and case changes, I feel comfortable believing that the product is as represented."
  7. 33 is a fantastic age to start and I agree, Whiz is a very underrated title.
  8. You have excellent taste in comics! Welcome and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your collection. I'm 55 years old and we have people here from 18 and into their late 80s. If you don't mind sharing, how old are you? GA collectors tend towards the older ages if only due to the cost of GA. It's easier to afford later in life it seems. but for most, never easy! Here are a few representative books of my favorites
  9. Shot through the glass to really hot, um,...summer day.
  10. Why are people getting bent out of shape over CGC asking for a receipt? Can anyone tell me an example of receiving a refund, from someone who did not sell the item in question, without being asked for a receipt? Seriously, it is the start of the refund conversation/dance. If you have a swapped 9.8 ASM #194, is CGC just supposed to send you a check for the last 90 day GPA average which is $2716? What if you are one of the poor souls who paid above $5,000 for your copy? How would CGC know this without a receipt? Take a deep breath, settle your butt down in your sofa, deep breath, and explain you do not have a receipt but you bought the book from X for this much money at this auction, convention, or back alley. I have confidence that CGC will make you whole. They want this whole incident to fade into memory like the Ewert scandal. The best way to do this is to get the impacted people paid and hushed. A better question would be that if you want your book back, how would CGC return it? Obviously they would have to return it but it has been broken out of the original holder for inspection. I feel they should grade it for free and offer to return it properly encased and graded. Would they do that or would they just send you your raw comic?
  11. My first Mopsy. I think it is a very underrated title.
