  1. That's awesome!!! Coffee table all the way. Clean it up a bit, throw on some new glass and adjust for the right pitch and hieght. I'd love to look down at that every time I put my drink down. Great find!
  2. I was happy to finally finish off my surfer set but I find this one is a little harder to appreciate. Can anyone guess why? Sometimes I like to pretend they're cosmic rays.
  3. I'm pretty sure that those are Chinese versions not Japanese.
  4. Payed for SS service (grading + encapsulation). Would have paid for sigs after.
  5. Just got my books back. Two days shy of a year waiting (all blue label). Glad that I can finally walk away from this $#!+ storm. Hopefully everyone else will be out soon too. Thought I would share one more insightful story of the dealings going on at Paradise. Last year I asked Peter directly, "can you get a signature for me at a con?" He said no problem, we'll get it done. I thought great, I've had Doug get me Neal Adams and Stan Lee before and didn't give it a second thought. Four months later I start wondering if my books are coming back soon, so I call cgc with my invoice number and they have no record of receiving them. After a couple weeks of emails, phone calls and thoughts of civil action against Paradise....my books were found... sitting in the basement....unsigned. They didn't go to the show, they didn't get the signatures, they didn't call me to let me know that they didn't go and the new management (not their fault) didn't even know that my books were there. So, it wouldn't surprise me if a good chunk of books were sitting in the basement months after they should have been shipped. I've been going to this shop since high school and it's been a very sad experience dealing with them over the past year. Best of luck to those still waiting.
  6. Nothing happening with my books. Still M.I.A. I'm going to stop in on the weekend and remind/bother them, the same as usual. Also, still no response through email and I gave CGC a call. They insisted that Paradise should have more information to share. Why Paradise continues not to inform all of us is the biggest mystery.
  7. I already posted this one on another stan lee ss thread but it's such a beauty. It's hard to believe that he's not signing on faces on purpose.
  8. I guess sometimes it takes two tries to get the whole face covered?
  9. Same old story. I got an email from Paradise saying they were calling CGC to get an update.... A week later I sent a message asking what CGC said...a week later no answer. Needless to say just waiting for this fiasco to be over with. I don't want to start up the blame argument again but I hope customers keep posting info about getting or still waiting for their books. This is the only place I can get updates
  10. Getting ready to celebrate my anniversary with Paradise. 10 months and going strong ???
  11. Whenever I go into Gotham Central, I ask the owner how his submissions are going and he's still averaging four months or so. Not sure what's going on. ?
  12. That's good to know. I'll give them a call again. Thanks! and thank you cgc boards!!! I'm happy to know I'm not the only one waiting a year for their books. "Misery loves company" - Sophocles ?
  13. Thanks for the welcome. I've called cgc several times but they're not able to give me any information because the account is listed under the owner of Paradise, who is next to impossible to reach. The new manager is therefor the middle man that I bother whenever I'm in the neighborhood. The struggle is real
  14. I've found my fellow sufferers! I'm also waiting on two books from Paradise. They were submitted 10 months ago. I drop in every other week to get an update but it's always the same story, "we're expecting a shipment soon". The new manager Jeff is a nice enough guy. He seems to be doing the best he can but something definitely got screwed up when management switched over. If you guys are at a year, I guess I have a few more months to wait ?
