  1. Nerve wracking ride on a sled to nerve wracking ride on a sled
  2. What's the story with Charlton File copies if anyone knows, for their romance and other titles? I've seen high grade file copies of many. Can it be assumed there are high grade copies of every Charlton title and issue...or did they only cover a span of certain years for certain books?
  3. Signed by Stan Lee to Signed by Loretta
  4. One of my favorite game series, with such a cool atmosphere. Actually, went back and replayed Bioshock Infinite last year and it still holds up really well. Interested to see what they do with this but the source material plot/story are...not sure how to really put it, but colorful, whimsical, steam punky, and trippy, but stoner level coherent. This could be really really cool, or really awful.
  5. No respect. I’m guessing that due to the MCU Iron Man is a solid number 3 behind only Spider-Man and Wolverine in terms of popularity with Gen X and younger comic/marvel fans. ToS 39 is surely the ugliest of the Marvel mega keys though.
  6. Nice, never saw that sale. I did say 1.5+ though so that was my floor. Was a Totally wild guess anyway. A single highest graded SA mega key virtually certain never to be supplanted in the census… who even knows what the ceiling could be.
  7. Good time to squeeze them in while the stock market etc are on an upswing. Don’t want to wait for the general chaos that’s coming later in the year… Is that ToS a million dollar book? I’ve gotta think 1.5 mil+.
  8. Were you given a payment date ahead of time? HA takes a while too but it’s very explicitly stated well ahead of time on what date you’ll be paid.
  9. Surrounded by wolves to surrounded by wolves
  10. I probably already said this before but you can find the Nier Automata original soundtrack by Keichi Okabe (2017) on Apple music. It doesn't 100% match the in game soundtrack but its still really good. I used to be able to find a lot of the individual songs straight from the game on youtubte but sadly square enix seems to be getting alot of those videos taken down. Also pretty cool and very similar is Nier Gestalt & Replicant original soundtrack from 2010.
  11. There were a lot of nice books like the one below that I'd never seen before. I think I'll probably be looking back on this auction and regretting not going after a few more aggressively too, but it was great as an eye opener and seeing some price ranges established on certain books. Hope to continue seeing more focused auctions like this one.
  12. Personally I think 40k for that copy is an amazing result. Hard to believe anyone would think it's disappointing. Whoever was the winner of this, the last that I recall 'bargain' priced copy, is probably feeling great right now.
  13. Their new pictureless and stock images one week into the auction format adds some genuine excitement and mystery about what you'll be getting too.
  14. I'll admit, all this talk got me to look at what's in the auction and they do have a few good ones, including a full run of Phantom Ladies. Even if they have several weeks to clean it up, I'm not so sure that this level of unpreparedness doesn't make bidders a bit hesitant, and I can only imagine a lot of consignors are very upset. I hope they're able to get their act together going forward, its just not a good look. I don't think it helps the hobby in any way if any of the big three deteriorate or go under.
  15. This looks like it could be intentional CT trimming with the holes punched in it right? ... will be very curious to see how the collectors in this range feel about that aspect of it too. Does this book match any old purple label copies?
  16. This is a set up right?….. Fine. How much of it can you see?
  17. Looks like not everyone at CC has made it off the sinking ship to the life rafts just yet ....I'm not motivated enough to do the little 'at' symbol and summon the good Micah S. to this thread, but whoever consigned books to them may want to...
  18. Just wait until this upcoming movie, staring the voice talents of the not at all overexposed Chris Pratt and Samuel L Jackson, goes all Super Mario Brothers movie... All the Garfield detractors in this thread are going to regret the day they passed up all these $360 Garfield daily strips when they can no longer be had for any less than $380.
  19. I'm up to 9....crazy I know, but with how had prices have dipped it's hard to resist. Didn't pick anything up this last round, but liked this one from a few months ago.
  20. I mean...I did say "the reason typically given"... Anyway, I'm less inclined with recent events to give CGC the benefit of the doubt on anything, but for these...its right there on the label plain for all to see. So they weren't being shady and burying it in the grader's notes. Also didn't the story go that there was one early collector of the Church books who really was incredibly anal/OCD, and who did apply pinprick size CT to many books? No idea as to the truth of that. Can you take a black light to these books when they're slabbed and see that the affected area is indeed very very small or not? I've watched a lot of these books at auction, and they never seem to go low... as compared to say the obviously CT scraped books in blue labels that do go for about 1/2 - 2/3s an equivalent non CT scrapped/trimmed book.
  21. The reasoning typically given is that it's such a miniscule amount of glue, applied to such a small tear, that removal of it wouldn't affect the grade. If you look at the graders notes, it actually calls the spot "restoration" which is funny....but I imagine it was maybe just a tiny dab applied to a teensy bindery tear or something, by someone who didn't want to see it get worse. Conservation in a way.
  22. It clearly succeeded in provoking a strong emotional response I'd say. That's good right?
  23. I'll catch it when they do the Rifftrax. " Kevin Maher of The Times also gave it 1/5 stars, writing: "In its sheer mind-boggling awfulness, it represents the death of the superhero genre, the burning of the superhero genre to the ground and then the returning in the middle of the night to ____ on the superhero genre's ashes."
