  1. The extent to which some of you are so bothered by 6 Dr. Seuss books (that nobody ever heard of in the first place, that THE PUBLISHER OF SAID MATERIAL decided to remove from print) is absolutely hilarious. Yes, please keep buying into the faux outrage that conservative media is so desperate for you to be offended by. 😂
  2. Anyone know what the Boy comics 10 on comic connect recently sold for?
  3. Anyone know what the Catman 20 sold for? Forgot to bid on that one and trying to price out a low grade copy.
  4. I used the term “younger” only because I know this comic is shared and discussed on Instagram fairly often and the insta crowd tends to be 25-35 or so, with many notable exceptions. Current young collectors seem to have intense focus on PCH, Cole covers and Timelys. To me, it’s not just BB 105 that is being hyped, it’s more or less all LB Cole covers in general. Recent auction results have yielded significant price increases compared to sales this time last year. Not a great time to just now be catching onto Cole. (He is and has been my favorite GA artist so I do appreciate that he is getting his just dues)
  5. Definitely an incredible book, though I think it is being hyped a lot by younger collectors, much in the same vein as CoC 19, Blue Bolt 115, certain Timelys like Mystics, Cap 39, etc. Interesting to see new trends emerge almost weekly while more traditional classic covers seem to be taking a backseat to these newly designated classics.
  6. Very recently, Gary Dolgoff, in conjunction with Superworld, offered up some nice lower grade Timely’s on eBay. Many of these books “sold” for very healthy prices, only for many to be resisted for what I assume were multiple shill bids and then nonpayment. They ended up still selling, but many for quite a bit less. I would be wary currently of Timely eBay auctions as there does seem to be some manipulation going on by 1 or more accounts. This is all just my own conjecture based on observation.
  7. Kind of amazes me that nobody will touch a trimmed book, but a book with a severe miscut gets that kind of money? Seems silly.
  8. Clink win. Might not be a Dark Mysteries 19, but pretty startling all the same. Can’t think of many covers with such a blatant depiction of direct violence against women?
  9. I think this thread is my favorite on the boards-love the amazing glimpse you have given us into your collecting, travel, etc. Always look forward to your updates.
  10. My super modest contribution to this epic thread, Cole sci-if and crime!
  11. I feel your pain, the fact that I don't own a STT 11 or a BB yet hurts my soul. Now I just spend my money on craft beer and appreciate what I do own!
  12. I have two copies of this book and was still a player at over 1k. I truly think it is one of Cole's best horror covers, and has cross theme appeal-Cole collectors, horror in general is blistering hot, underwater theme, and with the term "classic" cover being used so frequently now, I think this book is migrating towards that status with younger collectors who have made certain books explode (I'm looking at you COC 19). Glad I did not part with mine prematurely, it's a special book IMO. Not sure it's a 3k book, but it's all relative, right?
