Two newly acquired AUSTRALIAN versions of Strange Adventures No.13 [US #56] and No. 42 [US#87]

One of the Australian versions of "Strange Adventures" that I will soon get graded by CGC. This issue, No. 32 Australian copy, does not exist in the US versions but is a reprint copy of House of Mystery #53

No, as I said, AUSTRALIAN . I live in Australia, not Austria! This is a pre-decimal comic published in 1958 and priced 1 shilling. Australia changed from pounds, shilling & pence to Australian Dollars in 1966.

Here is the Australian version , numbered No. 37 and priced 1/- (one shilling). Of note is the missing man with the blue suit and the footprint is much darker.

I've just bought these Australian versions of Strange Adventures from a UK auction. I am looking at getting most of these graded by CGC next year.

I have now managed to get another Australian Edition of Strange Adventures [US #31] Aust. #6.

I now have 5 x Australian version of Strange Adventures CGC graded. They are B/W inside on cheap newsprint so it is difficult to get high grades.

Apparently, in the AUSTRALIAN reprint versions, there is only 1 x Ape issue No. 31 (out of 43 issues) price at 1/- (one shilling). Don't have a copy but would dearly like to own. Again any Australian issues out there for sale?

I mainly use the Australian eBay for the Australian versions of Strange Adventures. But they are very RARE and being old 1950's newsprint, it is hard to get good copies. I also use the US eBay site as some do turn up in the US. I am not collecting the US versions, only the HTF Australian reprint copies.

Thanks for the information about other US equivalents. I have noted this in my own database. I have 20 (not all in top condition) of the 43 Australian issues. The price increased to 1/- (1 shilling) from #23. My quest continues! I have added more images here

I am trying to collect the AUSTRALIAN versions of STRANGE ADVENTURES printed by Colour Comics, Sydney, starting in 1954 with an 8d or 9d (8 pence - 9 pence) price. I have one CGC issue, Australian No. 1 CGC 8.5 (US equivalent #44) and I am planning to get graded more latter this year. Note: Not all Australian issues have a US equivalent, although most do.

Mine is also about 210 days since August 18 2021 and still in SFG

I sent my 10 x Economy (not Fast Tracked) in June 11 last year. Received at CGC June 22, 2021. Not Accession (Opened) until August 18, 2021. My CC was charged on Sept 30 last year. It is nearly 1 year since sent and my comics are STILL in SFG. The TAT keeps changing but not my submission. What is going on?

Slow Economy 8/19/21 - Still SFG and counting

My 10 x Econ sub was entered 8/18 and is still in SFG. I seem to recall TAT was 140 days when received at CGC. It is now over 175 days received.

Submitted 10 Economy last year. Arrived CGC 6/22 . Listed 8/19 and STILL IN SFG !! My Tracking number has now disappeared.

What is going on with Grading? I sent 10 Economy books to CGC in June 2021. Received at CHC on August 18. STILL STUCK in "Scheduled for Grading" ! When originally sent the time frame was about 140 days, it is past that now and I am getting quite concerned.

Hi, I live in Australia and I only use FedEx tracked for my returns from CGC. I usually send 10 comics at a time and it you spread the cost of postage (shipping) over the ten comics , it's not to bad. The $150 credit is applied once your comics have been graded and sent to your Credit card.

Hi, I have had 10 comics STUCK in Scheduled for Grading for 5 weeks and counting.

The FedEx return rate to Australia is around USD$100 for 10 encapsulated books. This cost can be found on the CGC site.

I live in Australia and regularly send comics to CGC for Grading and Encapsulation. Cost depends on the current Exchange rate AUD vs USD. Cost to send a parcel (10 comics) from Australia (tracked) to the CGC is about $40 AUD. If you are a member of CGC, you can get an annual rebate of $150 USD from your membership m (depends on Membership level) which will bring the cost per comic down. Generally I find the cost per comic to be around $40 - $70 AUD, depending on the exchange rate, this includes FedEx return shipping to Australia. Dikko
