  1. This one of a kind ended tonight. Not my book. There are also four other Jerry Robinson collection books on e bay in similar grades for 63,000 and 65,000 OBO.
  2. The Jughead one is funny. Pulled this pic from e bay just now. I guess it's pretty popular.
  3. When I was selling a lot of mostly raw books on e bay I just took photos in natural light. Never played around with the color. Got a lot of "even nicer than the pics" type feedback.
  4. Hey! I know you've spent hours, days, weeks scanning your books and maybe I mentioned this to you before but aren't you tempted to bump up the color just a little? I respect your not doing that , shows you're honest for one, but I bet in hand that books color is much brighter than the scan shows. Looks great for the grade too.
  5. Oh wow look at that. Yours is nicer, should be a 6.0 or better. Yes I try to get it close to realistic as possible as well but I admit I bump up the color a little more than I should sometimes. Mine looks like yours colorwise. Nice scan. I don't like to talk about books that are "coming soon" unless it's something huge like an AC 1 or something. But there is an 8.5 coming soon to an auction near you. Nick Cage book.
  6. Thanks J. I have to give some credit to my 20 year old hp scanner. Colors are real nice but I raise the brightness and contrast a little otherwise they come out duller than they really are. I've seen this book so many times but never noticed until I had it in hand that she is about to be saved by who I assume is her brother.
  7. That's always been my Silver age philosophy. Never bought a graded Cream SA book and very few OW. With GA I avoid cream but if it's something that ain't easy to find and the cover looks nice . To the OP- Just look at the sales of pretty much any book you find that has been labeled Light Tan or worse and you see the plunge it took. With Cream you see a dip. With LT or SB you see a plunge. Brittle? Forgetaboutit. That's a crash into the side of the mountain. CGC Light Tanned my AF15 and I got destroyed in auction, should have cracked it and sold it raw. I even advertised the book all over and still tanked. Most people just don't want Light Tan.
  8. Yeah you saw the photos. Just big tents on a desert with a fence around it. What else would there really be to do besides reading books and magazines and waiting. It's very possible that some non pedigree books still around today came from some of the camps. But most people probably left them behind when they were allowed to leave. Grabbed the bare necessities and got on the first bus out.
  9. I may not have understood completely but the two Okajima families being from the same town and it not being a common surname like she said there probably is a connection. Most likely all the younger members at the camps were cousins. It's possible that members of both families bought the books and one of them saved them all. Seems like there wasn't much else to to in these isolated camps other than read or play cards and board games. Either way this case has been cracked.
  10. Hi Karen , you did some incredible research on this. I recently looked into two GA pedigrees and managed to "solve the mystery" of one but it took nowhere near the amount of effort you put in on this. I watched your entire video. Just outstanding research. Have you looked into locating any children of Jayne and Mitsuru? It seems they both owned them. They probably each bought some as they came out and shared them. Mitsuru hung on to them and preserved them. Yeah if he or Jayne had children they probably would know something if not everything about the books.
  11. Crime and Punishment 55. Not the most reliable way to commit murder but very creative.
  12. Well sure but technically at least the ladies on Unseen 14 and COC 19 have lungs. The guy on COC 21 is a full skeleton. Really a great cover.
  13. Oh! When you said "my 1first prerobin" I didn't get that it was this actual book. Ok, awesome.
  14. Hey P, Man I can't tell by looking at it. It does look like it's a high quality restoration. The old graders notes don't get into detail as to the materials used. Sweet book for sure. You think it would grade A-2? Probably, maybe. Only one way to find out. So tempting this one.
  15. A-1 - Slight Pro, A-2 - Slight/Mod Pro, A-3- Mod Pro, A-4 - Mod/Ext Pro, A-5 Ext Pro. Right? This beauty is graded Moderate Professional.
  16. I've never seen a physical reprint but apparently it at least exist in this book. Looks like a compilation of stories. (This site has a pop-up when you first click) https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Teen-Aged-Dope-Slaves-and-Reform-School-Girls/TPB?id=171945&s=&readType=1
  17. I don't really undrstand the connection or maybe better said the transformation of how Comics Magazine Company became Centaur Publications. I've read about it, can't really understand it. Also some titles like Star Comics and Star Rangers say Harry A Chesler as publisher which confuses me more. And how Ultem Publications fits in.
  18. Sure, one of my favorite things about Cole is how he drew skies in the background. The Outlaws, AF Crime and Police have some beautiful backdrops.
