im glad i gave this series a second chance. people on FB kept talking about the ending of #4 so i went back and read 2, 3 then 4. I tell you what by the time i got to issue 3 and that dad scene at the kitchen table i was invested. that scene hit hard for me personally since i had been in a similar situation. i like kyle is providing back story on on his characters. issue 6 was no different. i didnt notice this but Kyle is also writing the new Darkhawk so i might just check that out also.

this question has plagued me for the longest. captain america 100, namor 1, Hulk 102, silver surfer 1, captain marvel 1, Ironman 1 all are issues that received the BIG Premiere badge. nick fury agent of shield 1 & doctor strange 169 did not. the only link between fury and strange were that i can see is they were both published in June of 1968 while the rest were published in either april or may with the exception of Surfer in August, who did get the big premiere. why?

i thought it was the Malibu/ultraverse Hardcore title when i first saw the news.

ill say i had serious issues with this show on eps 1. it only solidified by initial feelings from the trailer it felt like a cw show. the beard on utopian was distracting to say the least. the show does improve imo after eps 4 but its still not without its faults. if anyone remembers the first vol of Jupiters legacy the world building was very sparse, i mean very. it always struck me as there was more going on that we were not privy to which made it more interesting. i just assume the show was fleshing out what Millar didnt include in the books and frankly its terrible. i have not ready jupiters legacy vol 2 to know if the immovable idealism in the face of a changing world held by utopian is explained but its terribly written in the show. i get people can be blinded by a single minded vision but jeeze the over acting is just off putting. i dont know if this material was harder to write for the screen as opposed to kick but im not real excited over season 2. i will watch it but its not something i would recommend to anyone.

im not a fan of jsc. his Yara has no hips to speak of. well, maybe a tad bit more than his typical drawing but not much. i look forward to this book but knowing DC they will fu*k it up somehow someway. if she becomes more popular than the future state batman i see them putting her on ice. batman batman batman.

have you seen the kindrick kunka exclusive cover? thicc is an understatement . i dig her and not just because of her looks. Jones really did a good job making her completely different from diana. the detachable thumb panel was hilarious.

ill go with FFWW1 as the key book. all things considered i would say DM7 would be the cameo. and we all know how cameo's are viewed. I personally really like that Jenny Frison cover B on issue 2 not for spec purposes just taste.

nah. ive come to realize Bad Idea isnt just the publishing name. they had to cut 50% of orders to shops after the LCS' ordered more than what BI thought there were going to sell. had they had an actual FOC and distributed through Diamond they wouldnt have had to come up with a not-first-print. Read this semi scathing review from an LCS' point of view. I think how they are doing the pizza detective (providing excerpt from the linked article below) is quite bad. my lcs has already said even though i pick up my books on saturdays, ill get it anyway. i can respect a publisher bucking norms but the decision making is completely opposite of getting books in the hands of as many people as possible. "As a bit of a mea culpa for misfiring on the print run of ENIAC #1, Bad Idea announced to retailers that they would be providing copies of a title called HANK HOWARD, PIZZA DETECTIVE in CALIGULA’S SAFE to retailers FOR FREE, in the same quantity that they originally ordered for ENIAC #1 (or in the case of “second wave” retailers, TANKERS #1). yes no i think as collectibles the oldie but goodies will maintain and increase in value. the current offerings who can say. my default position on it is no. the classics were made at a unique point in time from what everything originated. this modern drek is for flipping and making tree fiddy and probably wont be worth a durn in the long run. but the other side is if a book like x-men #4 can explode then anything can. will comics as a medium collapse? nah. i do forsee a time when marvel and dc books are shipping less than 10k a book and indies all go to kickstarter or indigogo because the base wont be there and the scalpers and flippers will have moved on.
