  1. A 'Gene Park's Greatest Hits' CAF album? Personally, I like to post everything to keep an on-line visual inventory of what I have. Helps me keep tabs on art . . . good, bad or ugly
  2. Along similar lines to my own experience with Keif when he was acting as a go-between involving myself and Roger Hill (who, at the time, I was unaware of being a third party). Keif was pretending to own the stuff he was offering me (belonging to Roger) and was adding extras into the deal he hoped I would go for (that would result in him gaining a complete EC story as a freebie). Years later, Keif wanted to buy a 1966 Ditko 'Captain Atom' cover from me. His pitch was that I should not expect much in the way of a cash offer from him, as what he was wanting to buy wasn't something of any great value.
  3. Keif was one of the first American collectors I contacted via snail-mail, back in pre-internet days. Long story but cut short, he tried to con me out of a complete EC story as a freebie for himself. As such, I'm speaking from personal experience. He even phoned me up in the UK several times. He has the warmth, sincerity and charisma of a snake-oil salesman. Threads often get steered away from the original intent. So what's new? As I said, I didn't bring up Keif in the discussion . . . I'd just as soon try to put him out of mind.
  4. I didn't bring Keif Fromm up, but have my own history with him, which is not good. Collectors not aware of his history, ought to be made aware. You may have had a good experience with him; quite a few of us haven't.
  5. . . . and your sanity may never be the same.
  6. Not forgetting his (Keif Fromm's) shoplifting excursions . . .
  7. I've always posted all of my art on CAF over the years. The positive aspects of doing so have always worked heavily in my favour. The (lesser) negative aspects are that sometimes I've been talked into releasing some examples that in retrospect I should have held onto longer. I can see how the 'fresh to market' school of thought works for some, even if it's not something I would subscribe to. After the initial furore dies down, such art will eventually lose its freshness - though the very best examples will always be in demand.
  8. I recently started auctioning-off some of my spare MTG artworks on the MTG art-market FB group. Less than 12 hours into my latest offering my hidden reserve has easily been met . . . with six more days to go. Can't help wondering if the auction scenario brings out the competitive spirit from playing the game into trying to win the artwork? My current offering . . .'Feebleness' by Kev Walker.
  9. Running a 7-day auction for the MTG artwork 'Feebleness', by Kev Walker. Auction is being run on the MTG Art Market FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mtgartmarket/
  10. Meanwhile, back in Octopus HQ, the Doctor briefs his Junkie henchmen to pull a daring raid on the Marvel Warehouse . . . * * With apologies to those with different conspiracy theories . . .
  11. Can't help you on that one, sorry. Maybe the OP can advise (if not contact Prop Store directly)?
  12. As I lean more towards original Movie Poster paintings nowadays, I landed five such artworks in a recent Prop Store specialist auction at decent prices. All the extra costs on top of hammer price were taken into account by me before I bid on anything and you really do need to pay attention to the information provided to factor-in the overall costs - a combination of bid price, BP and VAT - if applicable (if you're not sure about anything, ask before bidding). As such, do the maths. I received the catalogue for this particular auction last week. The comic-book stuff seems to be a new direction for the company and I did think the artworks being offered were estimated on the pricey side.
  13. Recently auctioned-off on the MTG Art Market FB group, Julie Baroh's original painting for UNDERWORLD DREAMS, measuring 7" x 8.5" Circa 1994, I think? Winning bid: $31,000. The artwork does absolutely nothing for me, but I guess this is one of those pieces that carries importance to MTG collectors.
  14. I visited the UK branch in person a few months ago to collect some Movie Poster original paintings I'd won in auction. I was given a tour of their warehouse and saw lots of amazing things. The set-up looked very professional with specialist members of staff busily working away in their offices.
  15. Good idea, I'm moving on and have nothing further to add here . . .
  16. 1. Sometime after you created this thread. 2. Get in the results of your investigations before creating such a thread as this one.
  17. If such sketches are coming from eBay sellers with a history of selling fake artworks then, yes, boardies are right to question such things. If being offered by trusted sellers with a background for honesty, try asking the questions before casting doubts.
  18. In that case we should all start such threads (without doing any homework beforehand) every time a dealer has unpublished artwork offered for sale?
  19. Unfortunately, the OP has a leaning towards conspiracy theories, of which this is a latest addition. I'm sure he's a decent guy and if this was a one-off thread for him we might be less harsh in our responses. To avoid such resulting controversy, the OP should have sounded-out Rueben or Frenz (via his rep) before creating this thread. I see no evidence of that in any of his posts?
  20. Back from the framers . . . Tom Chantrell's original Movie Poster painting for 300 SPARTANS, 1962 . . .
