  1. I was fortunate enough to see SW IV in the movie theatre as a kid. Unfortunately I fell asleep and missed the last 30 minutes of the movie. You think someone would have woken me up. Fast forward to last night. FINALLY sat down to watch SW VII for the first time in order to catch VIII tonight. Made it to the 46 minute mark and next thing you know.....I woke up to see the rolling end credits
  2. $17Kish does sound right. But was this sale not before Deadpool/Bitcoin like mania struck?
  3. This thread delivers on so many levels. Thank you. I was lucky to have this set as a 5 year old. Seems like yesterday. I actually fell asleep at the end of Episode IV. My dad woke me up as Han Solo made his surprise appearance. Remember waiting in the most insane line for ROJ. You know I think what is the driving force for these collectibles is that its so tangible. It really takes you back. I feel so lucky having experience the 70s as a little kid and teen years in the 80s. These were truly some amazing times.
  4. Incredible! I remember like yesterday going out to eat pizza with my parents. It was a hot summer evening. After we hit an Edwards department store. I sprinted to the toy department and low/behold they had one battle armor he-man left. I snagged it. Funny thing, I was a little "older" during this phase and was actually not opening most of my toys immediately. Even at the age of 11 or 12, the OCD was strong in me and I managed to leave him sealed on card for nearly two full weeks! Everyday after school I would rush home and run my pretend toy store. Well eventually I caved and opened him. Man those were the days. Thanks for posting......
  5. Your post made me think of those Topps Baseball and Football sticker albums in the 80's. I think the packs came with 6 stickers and were 20 or 25 cents each and made in Italy. You could order alla carte the specific stickers you were missing to complete the album. Remember like yesterday writing out my grocery list and double checking before mailing it out. It was over the top excitement when that envelope came back with the stickers
  6. If you shipped a 3 lb box from coast to coast (NY to CA) overnight with a $5K value, USPS would charge $113 insured/landed.
  7. At this point, all that is left are the Comic Starter Kits. I can do $10 +shipping Heavy duty BCW short comic storage boxes. $2 each +shipping Heavy duty BCW CGC graded comic boxes. $3 each + shipping And can give better prices on toploaders for Current, Silver, and Golden. I the thickest gauge top loaders in the industry from BCW. The very first post on page 1 has been updated.
  8. In terms of the CGC historical grading timeline; I believe this issue (not this exact slab pictured with blue label by OP) is definitely one of the earlier 10.0 slabs graded. If memory serves, a red label 10.0 Wolvie Limited #1 sold on eBay for a few thousand dollars somewhere around 2003ish to 2005ish.
  9. I still have some 9.8's left that I will compare and contrast. I am aware of the above variables. But other than a deal breaker flaw, would be curious to tangibly see in person how tight the gap is between the two grades when you have a NM+ comic that has been sandwiched in a slab for 4+ years and then pressed out and the probability of it getting a bump.
