    HOM 193

Just won this in the current Comic Link auction. One of many great covers by Bernie Wrightson on this title. Quite hard to find in the higher grades as well.
  2. Thanks for displaying these awesome Adams covers. I had all thirteen of these books in CGC, graded 9.0 - 9.6 at one time. I ended up selling 121, 123 - 130 during the pandemic. I've since re-acquired 124 in 9.2 CGC, and am still looking for 121, 123 and 125. Dale Roberts has a 123 9.4 Mass. copy that I'm eying. I believe there is a 9.8 125 on eBay. That leaves 121, which is probably the hardest issue to find in high grade after 116. Speaking of which, I'm glad I held onto my slabbed 9.0 116. Like you said, very difficult to find in high grade.
  3. Very nice books. My favorite is issue 3. I've been trying to find a high grade slabbed copy, but no luck as of yet. As far as western covers by Adams are concerned, the Tomahawks are the best in my opinion, particularly 116 - 125.

    Eerie 77

Picked this one up yesterday. My first Warren magazine purchase in three years. Awesome cover by Richard Corben. The story inside depicted by the cover was actually a trilogy spread out over several issues. Enjoy.

    Low Distribution Conan

My second win in the current Comic Link auction. And yet another reacquisition of a book that I sold during the pandemic. Same grade, same page quality as my previous copy. Described as being a low distribution issue in certain areas originally, this book is easy enough to find in high grades nonetheless. Quite surprised that my winning bid was under $220. Enjoy.

    Amazing Adventures 8

Won this yesterday in the latest Comic Link Auction. Somewhat obscure work by Neal Adams on this title doing artwork on the Inhumans stories. It's nice to acquire a copy that has a perfect cover wraparound, which is quite difficult to find with this issue. Enjoy.
  7. Very impressive gallery. But I'm not sure about Girls' Love Stories 155. Apparently this cover was done by Tony Dezuniga, although the characters in the background look like the work of Neal.

    Heroes, Inc.

Quite right about this book being all too common in high grade. On the CGC census, there are 293 graded copies. Out of that, 4 are 9.9, 90 in 9.8 and 97 in 9.6. A slabbed 9.8 you could probably pick up for $100, don't know what a 9.9 would fetch.

    Heroes, Inc.

Picked this up at a local comic show today. Very easy to find in all of the high grades. Sexy cover by Wallace Wood, who excelled at drawing full figured women. Enjoy.

    Strange Adventures 215

Won this in an eBay auction the other day. Yet another book I've re-acquired after selling it. The next to last issue of this title featuring the incredible run of Neal Adams Deadman stories. As always, enjoy!
  11. My latest win from a Comic Link auction. Very tough book to find in grade, as is evidenced by the CGC census, where there are only eleven slabbed copies showing. This was during Diana Prince's "mod" phase, so I wonder why she is shown on the cover in warrior gear instead of one of her white jumpsuits. I guess I would actually have to read the story to find about that. Well, as always, enjoy!
  12. Picked this one up at the Toronto Comicon today. I don't usually go for signature books with sketches, but I decided to make an exception with this one. Just so happens to be the only signature CGC for this issue. The $550 price tag you see there is in Canadian dollars, but I managed to get it down to $470 (roughly $340 USD). Enjoy.

    Tomahawk 124 Again

Picked this up on eBay the other day. I was outbid on a 9.0 CGC copy a few months ago, so here I've acquired a higher grade with the buy it now option. Need not explain how impressed I am with this Adams cover, as I already did so in the previous journal on this issue. Anyways, enjoy it again!

    X-Men 118

Won this in the Comic Link auction last night. I'm working on re-acquiring the John Byrne issues 108 to 119 that I sold during the pandemic. So this one's a good start. Also, these books don't cost an arm and a leg in high grade. Enjoy.

    Superman Dumps Batman

Just picked this one up now on eBay. One of the better covers by Neal Adams on this title. And a great orange background too, which I mentioned in my last journal when describing Action Comics 367. Enjoy.

    Action Comics 367

My latest acquisition of a DC Neal Adams cover from the 1968-69 era. There's not many by Adams on this title that I'm interested in, but this one I like. Love the orange background here, which is a highlight on other DC covers of his - World's Finest 180, Superboy 152 and, of course, Superman 233 are other examples. Funny that with everything happening at such a fast pace on this cover, the two of them manage to get all those words in. LOL!

    Secret Hearts 143

Same comment that I made! Ha-Ha! Nice coincidence. Well at least you now have a source for this info. I have slabbed copies of Heart Throbs 120 (9.0) and Secret Hearts 134 (9.4). Both have covers done by Adams. There are claims that he also did the cover for Girls' Romances 134 and Young Romance 154. The GR looks much more like Jay Scott Pike while the YR, though looking like Neal's work, may have been done by MR. Giordano.

    Secret Hearts 143

dover - I'm not sure where it is listed. I got this info from another CGC member years ago who had all the DC romance books with Neal Adams involved. I can't even remember the name of this person. Like you said, hopefully it's on the inside.

    Secret Hearts 143

Picked this one up on eBay the other day as I continue my search for DC romance books. Described as an 8.0, I plan to submit this for slabbing. There is only one of these on the CGC census (9.4), which shows just how tough it is to find in a decent grade. But then again, any DC books in this genre are tough to find. Something of note here though. Neal Adams was involved with this issue. No interior or cover art work. Instead, Neal did the coloring in this book. Weird, huh?

    Adams Adventure

Just picked this one up from Comic Connect, where my best offer was accepted. There are a few covers on this title by Neal Adams that are not bad. So it goes with my hunt for books with Adams cover work only. Enjoy.

    Adams Tomahawk

Now that I'm back on my feet financially post pandemic, I've decided to go after the remaining books with Neal Adams covers on my want list, about a dozen altogether. Here's one that I was outbid on recently on eBay. One of the best of the Adams Tomahawk covers, if not the best. Looking to re-acquire issues 121, 123 and 125 also. Other than that, most of the remaining Adams books I want are issues from the Superman titles.

    Conan 2

Won this in the Comic Link auction that just ended. Yet another great cover by Barry Windsor-Smith. Again, this book is a re-acquisition to replace the 9.6 I sold during the pandemic. So in this case we're looking at a downgrade. But my winning bid for this book was a surprise, having secured it for under $250. Enjoy.

    Flash 204

Just won this from the Comic Link auction. Had this one before in 9.4, but like many books in my collection I sold it during the pandemic. So here I've managed an upgrade. One of several issues on this title Neal Adams did during the early seventies. Most of them were also in this same auction. Enjoy.
