these are a ripoff. i saw them a few weeks ago and the figures are basically the same dollar tree figures you can buy for a buck. that plus a $2.99 comic should make this no more than $5.99. figures are ultra small and look really dinky compared to the marvel legends retros. was so easy to pass on these

i seriously dont know how he has a career. all his comics suck, he cant even become an average artist after all these years. so much better talent out there but they dont even get a chance. i just dont get it, he must hold something over someone because there is zero explanation.

pressing really isnt that hard. if you just do some research before starting you will have down the technique in just a handful of books. all those saying its so difficult are most of the time pressers themselves trying to maintain their business and make it out to sound like its rocket science and just use them. same as anything else. will electrician tell you how easy it is to wire an electrical outlet, no, they will warn you of all the burnt down houses. but a normal person who knows how to read can wire a box in minutes and 100% safe. maybe a poor analogy but its not nearly as difficult as people want to make it out to be.

i found 4 packs but didnt open them yet. didnt think anyone was pulling anything out of them so didnt bother. guess ill have to give it a whirl now. still doesnt sound nearly as good as the last round of packs though

funny how they think customers would be happy by just simply having their mail opened. what difference does it make if the package is opened or not when either way it will just sit in processing for months. let us know when thats caught up to a reasonable time frame.

this has to be a joke thread or a troll right? based on the thread title alone, regardless of the grade its nowhere close to a super find. the grade is nowhere close to even VF let alone 9.0. so it has to be a joke or this is the same guy at the flea market with boxes of 90s drek thinking he has his retirement in front of him.

do people really care about the o-rings? to reissue figures just released and look essentially the same and call them exclusives and sell them for a mark up and expect people to care? i collect joes but dont consider myself a diehard but those figures were a very easy pass for me. going forward i will buy any new figure they make, whether they are o-ring or not makes no difference to me. cant believe people would buy them just for that fact when half the collectors are MOC anyways and wont even notice the difference. i get nostalgia but the figure itself is nostalgia not the building material. i am a diehard heman collector, whether they are made the exact way as the originals or not still doesnt matter to me. i could care less if they come with rubber heads or plastic heads just give me the figure. i certainly would be buying two different version of them if they did that.

i think we just need to look at our own hobby of comics to know for the most part lots will always be worthless. How many funny animal books are worth anything? then go for the dell or charlton comics that no one cares about it. people of the new generation could care less about those books and therefore are not worth anything, the age of them matters very little because the people in their 60's or 70's simply dont collect anymore. theres always exception with something of high rarity but again those books have had their audience pass by and no one new is coming along. the only reason half the new books are worth anything is because of the movies and thats a fact. what happens when the super hero movie comes the way of the western or the 80s action movie, that demand will drop significantly and therefore the resale price with it. and for those who say the movies will never go away, i dont think anyone thought the stallone and arnold movies getting pumped out every week would essentially cease to exist at that time either.

that silver surfer doesnt look anything like a 9.8 either. pedigrees are always graded generously. i dont understand the concept. just because its the nicest copy out there doesnt mean it gets a 9.8. so what if the highest copy of something that exists is 9.0. it is what it is. its why ill never pay a surcharge just because its slabbed.

I did google the name and it does come up with a matching adress. he did respond to my inquiry with a normal response. he did send two best offers before we settled at $100 below asking. My fault for not seeing his feedback during the offer requests. someone else mentioned about the signature confirmation which i wasnt aware of so glad i asked. I sent the buyer a message asking if they will be home and able to sign for it before i ship. He just responded he works from home and wont be an issue as long as they ring his door bell and dont leave it on his stoop. Looking at his house he does have a stoop so at least truthful there. Lol. I am on the new ebay payment system and not paypal. When i asked ebay about seller protection all she said was there is no guarantee. I did challenge that and she said well you do have the option of canceling the order but that may result in a negative feedback. At that point i just didnt bother any furtrher.

Sold a $1,000 plus book on ebay and buyer who bought has zero feedback. They paid very promptly but im nervous sending. I contacted ebay and they say to just send but cant offer any protection. ill ship with insurance and tracking obviously but am still nervous about getting scammed somehow. I did look up the address and it is an actual residence so thats a plus. I also contacted the buyer addressing the concerns and explaining my policy and they responded quickly and in appropriate fashion so another plus. just nervous as to why anyone in this age wouldnt have had ebay before. I guess its no different than selling on facebook or on here where theres no feedback system either so always a gamble. Just curious anyone elses experiences with this or anything i can do for added protection. thanks

Sorry for the bad pic. A friend is asking me to price out some books from her passed husband and thats what she sent. But only thing i see are the gold border editions which this clearly isnt. Indicia just has the original 1941 date. Its clearly magazine size so anyone know what the rough price on this would be mid grade? Really appreciate the help

I wonder what their excuse is now for the delays. I have had comics sitting since dec 22 and have been waiting for just paychecks and bills as well that are over a week late. Way past the holiday rush and they cant even move standard mail. They are beyond a joke at this point

im not the biggest guardians guy either but when it has first appearance of thanos and books of the such it was a definite grab. and I did the same thing last year. I got a start wars omnibus for the same price several months back and they appear to be all gone. so these were definitely newer shipments. I check the store every couple weeks from sept to dec when they start stocking their xmas stuff and these books were not there in early sept so take a look.

I just took a trip to ollies and got the guardians of the galaxy omnibus for only $20, cover price is $125. has all the first appearance issues of the team plus some early captain marvel issues. super sweet deal if you ask me. picked up some hardcover batman new 52's as well.

I see cons being on a much smaller scale for many years to come. maybe it will be the return of an actual comic con rather than these mega celebrity cons. I don't see celebrities needing the money that bad to put themselves at risk. I also don't see massive convention centers that would be needed for the capacity that handles those types of shows allowed to operate for quite some time to come. so they will need to step it back. also dealers have figured out ways to sell outside of shows so I don't think they will do major cons anymore at the current table rates. the rates are out of control anyway in order to bring in the celebrities. if all of that isn't happening we will have smaller venues with probably nothing but comic dealers. we wont see all the corporations there marketing all their non comic garbage. all this is said as a good thing to me. I hate what wizard world became. in the late 90s the show was great, as time went on it became worse and worse to the point I stopped going about 3 years ago. eventually the shows will return to what they were before the shutdown but I think it will be a long process.

ollies has the marvel now omnibus in stock for $15. cover price is $100 so not too bad a buy.

if a polybag can transfer a line onto the book id hate to see what this does to a book 20 years later. no way is this not an issue for books. just another example of a company not standing by their product and making corrections.

I always try to do full runs whenever possible. I have definitely over 100 full runs. largest though is probably spawn but that's a relatively easy one to obtain.
